Chapter 33 – Explanations, Giants, and the Next Wife
Arthur walked alongside Black Maria through the winding dirt paths of Wano, feeling the gentle breeze brushing against his face. The land around them, though marked by tyranny and recent battles, still offered moments of serenity. For now, the country was in a calm state — a temporary peace that gave Arthur space to think. Ever since he had decided to transform Mars into a new world where he could live peacefully with his wives, he knew that one thing had to happen first.
"Now that I've made the decision to create an entire planet just for us," he thought, "I need to tell them the truth… that I'm not from this world."
The weight of that revelation lingered. It was no small thing. Explaining the existence of the multiverse, the concept of dimensional travel, the fact that he came from a completely different universe — it wasn't something easy to accept. Even so, those women trusted him. They followed him. They cared. He owed them honesty.
"I'll start with Hancock and Maria," he decided. "Since I'm here in the world of One Piece... and when I return to the world of Fairy Tail, I'll explain everything to Erza and Mira."
As these thoughts swirled in his mind, Arthur turned his gaze to Black Maria. Despite being only twelve years old, she already towered over him at an impressive four meters tall. Her long limbs moved with grace and strength, and her eyes sparkled with curiosity and joy. Walking beside her was like walking alongside a gentle giant. Arthur, barely a meter tall himself, floated just above the ground using his powers, just so they could speak face to face.
"If she's already this tall at twelve," he reflected with an ironic smile, "by the time she's twenty-nine, she'll probably be nine meters."
The thought made him laugh — and even drool a little. He imagined hugging a fully grown Black Maria, with curves capable of swallowing him whole, both figuratively and literally. She noticed him smiling like an idiot as he floated backward but didn't question it. Instead, she laughed at his silliness, even without fully understanding what was going on in his head.
But just as he settled into the moment, a loud commotion shattered the peace. Screams. Shouts. The sound of wood and stone crashing. Arthur blinked and turned toward the noise, narrowing his eyes.
In the distance, people fled in panic while a figure remained at the center of the chaos. A young woman with long white hair, shackles on her wrists, and fierce determination in her voice shouted:
— I will free Wano! Oden lives!
Arthur frowned as he recognized her.
"Yamato…"
She was young, but even now, the fire in her soul was unmistakable. She gripped her kanabo tightly, swinging it with ferocity and energy. She was already immersed in the fantasy of Kozuki Oden, shouting that she was a man, determined to become like him. She had inherited not only his journal, but his ideals — and his burden.
Arthur sighed, running a hand through his hair.
— This is going to be more complicated than I thought...
Winning her heart wouldn't be as simple as rescuing her or being kind. She had already walked a path that didn't include love, marriage, or even her true identity. But then, like a bolt of lightning through his mind, a brilliant idea struck.
"Wait a second… she only became obsessed with Oden because of his adventures. Because of that damn journal. That's all!"
His eyes lit up.
She admired him because of the stories he told. Because of what he did.
Arthur's ironic smile widened.
"Well, if it's stories that inspire her... then she's looking at the wrong library."
He began listing names in his mind — heroes whose stories were ten times more powerful, touching, and meaningful than anything Kozuki Oden had ever done.
"Naruto… the boy who had no one, yet still became Hokage."
"Emiya Shirou… who defied fate to become a hero of justice in a ruined world."
"Midoriya… who broke every bone in his body to protect a little girl and become the world's greatest hero."
"Natsu and Lucy… and the adventures they shared in Fairy Tail."
"Tanjiro… who fought demons to protect his little sister."
And those were just the foundations. Arthur had access to universes overflowing with incredible stories — battles across galaxies, romances that spanned lifetimes, survivors of zombie apocalypses, fallen gods, rising heroes — entire worlds brimming with emotion and power.
"Oden can't compete with that," he whispered, almost laughing. "And the best part?"
"I have a dimensional portal."
He could see it all now — taking Yamato to visit the Fairy Tail guild. Watching her face as she witnessed true friendship. Letting her walk through worlds of heroes and magic. Showing her that real adventure wasn't in some dusty old journal.
"She won't just read stories... she'll get to live them."
Arthur looked at Yamato, who was still swinging her club and shouting for justice and Wano's freedom. People were running. Kaido's pirates were trying to stop her from causing more trouble.
Arthur watched her with admiration and conviction.
— You're going to be my wife — he said with a confident smile.
Beside him, Black Maria turned her head, having heard his words.
— Hm? What did you say, Arthur?
He looked at her and smiled, not missing a beat.
— Just thinking about the next steps in my future plans.
She smiled back, not understanding a word of what he meant, but trusting him completely, as always.
Arthur turned his eyes back to Yamato, now with renewed determination. The challenge didn't scare him.
He had stories stronger than Oden's journal. He was going to show her that she didn't need to dress up to go on adventures.
Arthur thought to himself as he watched Yamato fighting her father's subordinates and causing chaos in the city streets.
