I Don't Want To Be An Omega In My Sister's Trashy Reverse Harem [BL]

Chapter 12: New Mission!

DING!

[System Alert - Male Lead has Appeared.]

[Name: Evan Vortellion]

[Status: Lucien's Father / Alpha / Noble House]

[Threat Level: EXTREME]

[Warning: Target is aware of Host's secondary gender. Initiating defensive analysis.]

Rin froze.

His system rarely capitalised letters. That alone was enough to set every damn nerve in his body on fire.

How EXTREME could it be?

He was busy staring at the pink floating box when the knock on the open door came again, snapping him out of his thoughts.

He looked back at Lucien's father. He had seen him earlier that day, but this time, he stood close to him.

Lucien's father was taller and impossibly handsome. His aura was dark and deadly. He was definitely the kind of Alpha you didn't just walk away from when you saw him. You have to run, pray, or fake your own death.

And he was looking straight at Rin like he'd found a shiny new toy to break.

"Oh," Rin said, voice cracking into false cheer. "You're probably in the wrong room, sir. Student dorms are down the..."

He tried to shut up but it didn't work.

The door pushed open like Rin hadn't even touched it, and the man stepped inside without asking, closing it behind him with a soft click.

Rin backed up instantly, heart in his throat.

"Okay, cool, you're in. Just don't touch anything and... Wait, why are you here sir?"

The Alpha didn't even glance at him. He didn't even answer his question. He was already inspecting the room like he owned it. His presence flooded the air... raw dominance, rich pheromones layered with wine, cinnamon, and something cold like steel.

He wasn't trying to make Rin go into heat or something.

Rin kept his eyes on the window. He stood two meters away from the window. He could take two leaps, jump off and probably break an ankle, but better than being collared and taken away by this man.

The man trailed his fingers along Rin's desk. His books. His stupid snacks.

Then he stopped at the top drawer and pulled.

It was locked, so was Rin's breathing.

He hadn't even known that the damn drawer was locked. He never went to it ever since he found himself in the new world.

"Curious," the Alpha murmured, then turned to another drawer.

He pulled it and it opened this time. The man slipped his hand in and pulled something out.

Lucien's shirt.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!"

Rin cursed under his breath.

The man brought it to his nose and inhaled.

Rin lunged. "Give that back...!"

A hand caught his wrist.

In an instant, Rin was slammed... not too hard, but firm... against the edge of the desk.

His back arched, breath knocked out of him.

The Alpha leaned in.

Rin could feel all of him. His broad chest, calloused hands from holding a sword all his life and worse... his bulge, hard against Rin's thigh like a silent threat.

The faint scent rolled off him like poison.

The Alpha's nostrils flared.

"Lucien's scent is all over you."

Rin's pulse spiked. He was trying to suppress everything, but the suppressant was weakening. He tried to hold it back, so this man wouldn't take a whiff of it.

He forced a laugh.

"You think he'd leave his shirt here if we slept together? Please. He's probably just... uh, he sweated and I was too busy to wash it for him. So he tossed it in the trash can. I don't know how it got into the drawer,"

What the hell am I saying?

DING!

[Lie Detected: 100% Failed. Target remains unconvinced.]

The man finally stepped back. But not before brushing his fingers down Rin's chest like a silent threat.

Rin grabbed the shirt and held it to his chest protectively, glaring.

"I'm not into men. Especially old ones like you," he muttered.

The Alpha smiled. "It's a pity."

He walked toward the window, hands behind his back like he was inspecting art.

"I'll get to the point," he said. "Lucien plans to leave the academy soon. I need him here for three more months."

Rin blinked.

"...And what the fuck does that have to do with me?"

"You'll keep him here."

"I'm sorry," Rin said slowly. "Did I miss the part where I became his babysitter-slash-life coach-slash-sexual magnet?"

The Alpha turned.

"If he leaves, I'll inform the Academy of your secondary gender. Have you collared? Removed from staff housing. And then, transported to my estate."

Rin flinched.

"To be part of your 'Game'?" he spat. "Yeah, no thanks. That sounds like a fucking nightmare,"

"Trust me, it's far worse than a 'Game'," the Alpha said smoothly. "But at the same time, it's far more... exciting."

Rin's heart thudded fast and unevenly. He knew about the Game. Of course, he read it in the book, and it's nothing related to excitement.

Three months. That's how much he has to put up with this.

That's all.

"Fine," he said. "I'll keep him here. I don't know how the fuck I'll do it, but I'll try. You better keep your part of your promise,"

The man stepped closer, took Rin's hand... and kissed his knuckles.

"I'll definitely keep my part of the promise, as long as you don't fail,"

The delicate gesture seemed more like a mockery. Like Rin was some noble lady at a ball.

"We'll meet again," he said softly. "Try not to die before then."

He left. Just like that.

The second the door clicked shut, Rin collapsed on the bed like he'd been holding up a mountain.

His skin felt tight. His body screamed for a cold shower. He was relieved that his scent didn't cause a mess.

"Fuck. Fuck me sideways with a cactus," he groaned. "What is my life right now?"

DING!

[Mission Updated: "Keep Lucien Elric at the Academy - Duration: 3 Months."]

[Reward: Temporary Identity Lock - Omega status will remain hidden to administration.]

[Penalty: Forced removal and induction into the 'Game'.]

[Progress: 0/90 days.]

Rin didn't even bother responding. He pulled the covers over his head.

This was too much. He didn't get thrown into another world just for all this.

First, it's Lucien, then, his freaky father and the threats from unknown lovers. And now he had to play matchmaker himself just to avoid getting collared and dragged to the Duke's estate.

His eyelids drooped.

Eventually, sleep claimed him.

.

.

He stood in a hallway... white tiles. Bright lights. Clean air.

A woman stood at the end, beautiful, her face blurred like fog.

Rin's mother.

"Don't let them find out," she said, voice soft but urgent. "Not about you. Not about who you really are."

"Who I really... am?" Rin echoed.

"Keep it hidden, Rin. Never forget. Do not trust anyone, not even for love."

The hallway began to crack. The bright light suddenly dimmed as her voice faded.

"Mom... wait!"

Within the blink of an eye, she was gone.

Rin jolted awake, gasping.

Sunlight poured through the curtains.

He blinked up at the ceiling, dazed.

"True identity?" he whispered. "You mean... being an omega?"

He stared at the ceiling, as if an answer was going to appear from nowhere.
