Chapter 122
[World of Arseria Gallery - Story]
[Concept Post]
[Summary of the Shocking Moments in WOA (Spoiler Alert) – Updated on 51/04/02][319]
I compiled all the twist scenes so you don’t get blindsided while mindlessly boosting intimacy quests.
Level corresponds more to how unknown the story is than its significance, so no misunderstandings, okay?
lv1. Betrayal of the Student Council President
If you play WOA, I think every player knows about this xx bastard hero by now.
He saves you up to three times when you’re on the brink of death, which can be helpful during characteristic development, but expecting a calm healing story only to get betrayed feels really f*cked up!
[The Student Council President’s Secret Secretary (Mosaic).jpg]
But maybe because he’s alpha mail with GOAT looks, he’s been a regular subject in BL stories with the ‘those people’ on Tw*tter and has been paying for his karma for years.
lv5. Giselle Phoenix’s Past
From here on out, there were definitely episodes that made people who struggle with sad stuff cry.
Giselle-chan, the troublemaker who always shows a bright face at the Academy.
But as it turns out, she was one of the many potential bodies of a phoenix, and she entered the Academy to fulfill her last wish of wanting to make friends before she died.
Unbeknownst to them, those who criticized her character as being brain-dead are about to get shut up when she sweeps the GOTY and Best Storytelling Awards.
lv10. Alphonse Shipot’s Sword Technique
A hidden quest revealed to the world a year after the release of WOA by the VTuber Mr. Y.
If Giselle was cosplaying a brain-dead character, Alphonse is just brain-dead incarnate.
You can only grasp his sword technique after clearing over 20 side quests, and it’s so trashy that literally nobody cared.
But there’s one unique moment when his defensive arts actually come in handy.
(Alphonse’s sword technique warding off Mephistopheles’ fatal blow.gif)
He perfectly blocks the final boss’s fatal blow from a ‘long range’ with zero damage!
It’s a somewhat shocking setup, but thanks to it, he became a glimmer of hope for newbies who were struggling against bosses even on normal difficulty.
…
lv444. Nokteon Nailink and the Forest of Arseria
The protagonist is an elf, right? But why do other elves never show up in the story?
Well, here it is. Ta-da!
An elf ally encountered only in Nightmare.
Being an elf, she handles the laurel’s unique abilities quite well, and all her summoned dolls are random, making her a really tricky boss.
But here’s where Wearsoft’s juicing comes in; the truth is, there were no such elves, and all the long-eared humans were slaves sacrificed in the Empire’s experiments!
Though in a surprising twist, there were actually foreshadows in the main story that made this setup not feel forced.
For instance, if you dig through the records of the rescued slaves in Alphonse’s library, you’ll find that all of them were destined to become ‘chicken skewers’ in the Forest of Arseria.
However, this gets overshadowed by the twist that comes later, so Nokteon just turned into a cute gimmick.
lv777. Daniel and Repi 2
Why is this coming up again? Just shut up and watch.
In the main story, just knowing that Daniel was Repi’s father must’ve been quite shocking.
But those of us who are story junkies weren’t going to let it slide.
Once the age difference of sixteen years was revealed through year analysis, the author was bombarded with 5700 characters demanding some kind of original relation, remember? It even made the 9 PM news a few times.
But after Nightmare’s release, all foreshadowing was neatly resolved.
It turned out Daniel wasn’t Repi’s father but rather Repi was Daniel’s mother.
Repi was an exiled former saint, living happily in the countryside after giving birth to Daniel, but after losing her husband and getting a terminal illness, she ultimately had to entrust herself to the Empire.
The Empire pressured her to become a double agent under the pretense of healing her body, and Repi succeeded in going to the kingdom bearing a polymorph spell, having lost her memories.
So for ten years, even though the Empire crossed the kingdom’s land to interact with the forest, there wasn’t a shred of info about Yggdrasil thanks to Daniel. The one they stuck as a monitor just happened to be an Empire spy.
Ultimately, the bystander Daniel <- who in a way is the root of all evil. lv1000. Adella Current WOA gallery owner, GOAT just by existing. This is why I wrote this post. In a world of Nightmare filled with betrayal and backstabbing, she was the only NPC who chose to sacrifice herself for the protagonist. Unlike the cat from other game companies, Adella kept her loyalty until the end, and I can confidently say that while there may be people who have never seen the memories shown during loading times, there’s no one who has seen them only once. Personally, I think Adella's story is the best depiction of the psychological complexity one can feel when surrounded by geniuses, for us average folks. Bonus) After shocking reports, I hurriedly revised this It became official that in Part 4, Gestalt sacrificed Adella to summon Mephistopheles. (In a VIP invitation segment from NoName's broadcast.mp4) In the end, she wasn't average but a genius... [Comments] -Why is a post from five years ago suddenly getting popular? └ The author is seriously persistent, lol. -No way, was Mephisto's base Adella? └ I didn't even know there was a VIP segment, who is that person, lol. └ Looks like a rich person... so jealous... -The story is super complicated, huh? When I cleared Story Mode, I just turned off the conversation and didn’t know anything. └ Well, if that's the case, why don’t you go play Resonance or LoL? Why WOA? lol. └ Not everyone in the world is like you, story-spanking weirdo. ^^ -NoName, who is this? Over 20,000 viewers because of WOA? I've never even heard that name in my life. └ If you check it out, half of them are foreigners. └ Are you a dinosaur? What century are we in, not giving foreigners a chance? lol. └ Having 10,000 Koreans already makes it a major player in the industry. -Author, hurry and check out NoName’s broadcast. Adella is about to clear Part 3. └ (Author): What are you talking about? Adella is definitely going to die in Part 1. └ Go and check, go, go. └ (Author): What the heck? Is this a bug? *
“Hey there, sister… sis?”
Adella, buried in her sleeping bag, turned her head at the call of her name.
In battle, her back felt like a mountain, but seeing her now, she looked just like a girl.
Is she sleeping? Confirming, she gently walked over to the other side.
The chest of the elf, no, the human rose and fell irregularly.
‘She hasn’t slept at all.’
As Adella squeezed into her sleeping bag, the woman finally woke up.
“Hey, little cat.”
“It’s Adella! A. Del. La! Shouldn’t you have memorized it by now?!”
“Oh right, it was Adella. My memory isn’t great.”
“Is this also a sleep talk?”
“I don’t know.”
Adella puffed up her cheeks.
Staring into her quietly blinking, calm eyes, she finally spoke.
“About what you said yesterday… I can’t stop thinking about it, and it keeps me up at night.”
“What did I say?”
“About the Forest of Arseria. The things that happened to you with the Empire people, the true identity of Yggdrasil, the schemes of the demon worshippers, and all that…”
“Ah, I see.”
“That’s it? Tonight feels a bit bland.”
Her emotionless reaction made sparks fly from Adella’s eyes.
A wave of intense feelings rolled over, and finally, Adella burst out kicking and twisting her whole body inside her sleeping bag.
“That’s not how you should react! You should cry if you’re sad or grit your teeth if you’re angry! Don’t you have any thoughts? If you see Daniel tomorrow, will you just let him go without doing anything?”
Adella couldn’t understand the woman.
Daniel was an envoy complicit in the Empire’s massive experiments.
She couldn’t condone the fact that he had disposed of all the emergency messages secretly delivered by recovering elves.
Simply letting him go would be utterly unacceptable.
“It’s not my decision. The reason I got this far was thanks to the angel, right?”
The woman referred to the being that descended upon her during the day as ‘angel.’
As a concept contrasting with demons, it was familiar even to Adella, who didn’t understand theology.
“But calling it an angel feels a bit…”
Maybe rough… she couldn’t help but remember her last thoughts, worried if that ‘angel’ would recall it.
Feeling her chest tighten, Adella took a deep breath.
The humid smell of the dense forest and the scent of leaves tickled her nose.
“Then I’ll personally persuade the angel tomorrow. Is that okay?”
She was indeed a scary person, but at the same time, she was also a lifesaver.
After saving her life sixteen times, would she really harm her?
Resolute, Adella exhaled with a ‘huff.’
“There’s no way the angel is a carnivore…! They wouldn’t eat people, right?”
“Puhuh!”
“Hey, I think that’s the first time I’ve seen you smile.”
“Oh really? I just thought you were really funny.”
“Cough…! You look beautiful when you smile too. You’re already pretty, but it’s like you become even prettier somehow?”
“Thanks for the compliment, Adella. But it’s getting stuffy, so could you please go back to your sleeping bag? I heard we have a tough day ahead tomorrow. We should get to bed early.”
Leaving behind her feelings of disappointment, the cat crawled out of her chrysalis and snuggled next to the woman.
“What’s the angel like?”
Suddenly asked, Adella pondered for a moment. Who was NoName again?
“Just. A good person for no reason. Sounds weird, but there are so many reasons why I like them, but I think they’re just a good person without a particular reason.”
“That’s so angel-like.”
“I like both the day sister and the night sister.”
“In what way?”
“Hmm, NoName is interesting in that when I tickle her armpits like this…”
“Gyaah!”
Out of nowhere, the tickle attack made the woman flinch.
“That’s not the response you’re supposed to have!”
“Isn’t it like this during the day?”
“During the day, she’s always so indifferent. It feels like she has no emotions at all.”
“I see. That’s quite fascinating.”
“But she’s really considerate. Today, when I got hurt on my ear, she disinfected it several times while we walked all the way here. She also carried heavy stuff because I couldn’t get all sweaty. I was too embarrassed to say thank you, but could you maybe tell her for me?”
“Unfortunately…”
“It’s alright, there’s always tomorrow or the day after.”
“…”
“Sleep…?”
snore
This time, regular breathing could be heard.
The woman’s golden hair fluttered in the gentle breeze, brushing against her face.
achoo Adella sneezed, burying her face in the sleeping bag.
Physically, these days were tougher than ever, but mentally, they were fulfilling.
She hoped this night would repeat itself tomorrow too… As she licked her lips, Adella’s eyes slowly closed.
*
The next morning.
Grabbing a gleaming shoulder plate to use as a mirror while fixing her messy hair, a curious thought popped into Adella’s head, and she called out her name.
“Why do you keep calling me sister? Didn’t you say you didn’t like that title?”
“Ha! You told me to call you that! I was baffled.”
“I did? When?”
“Three nights ago… or was it two nights ago since time passed? Anyway, that night! And then again yesterday.”
“What did I say that time?”
“Th-that…! I don’t know! Are you just trying to tease me?”
I was truly asking because I didn’t know.
I had never thought about it once. If the story gets skipped, how do NPCs perceive themselves during that time?
It was like pondering what Pokemon do inside a Pokeball; I shouldn’t know that information, yet it constantly tempted me.
Adella was at a loss to cool her face, which had turned as red as a beet.
By the way, how long had it been since I had ever been called sister? Oh right, I remember it was more recent than I thought.
In my first life, I was a man, so it was never once throughout my life.
In my second life, though I was born in a woman’s body, due to my royal status, I was often referred to by my title rather than my name. Even that, from my late teens onwards, I was called by epithets.
When considering my third life, a cute girl named Aurora comes to mind. I wonder what she’s doing now. I should reach out to her once the game is over.
Still, while this body reflects what I was at sixteen, I felt a twinge of disappointment for Adella not feeling any awkwardness recognizing me as such.
Was I really that old-looking back then?
There were surely aspects in which Adella looked younger than her age.
After walking along the riverbank thick with reed fields for a while, a massive gate welcomed us.
On either side of the gate were angel statues, blowing their trumpets toward the sky.
Perhaps weathered by the wind, there were scratches all over the statues, and between the gaps, colors unlike the white plaster figures shined through.
creak-
At just a touch, the gate let out a sound like scraping dirt and opened by itself.
In an instant, the statues’ eyes shifted to look at us, and the trumpets they held fell to the ground and shattered.
“Ghhh!”
With her hair standing on end, Adella clung to me tightly.
“Don’t be scared! It’s just a statue!”
“I-I wasn’t scared! I just knew it was a statue!”
Yet before she could even feel embarrassed, lasers began to shoot from the statues’ eyes.
“It’s not just a statue!”
Finally, the surface of the sculptures began to peel away, revealing bats’ wings.
[ Seraphim · Death Sari-el (0/1) ]
[ Seraphim · Fantasy Ramiel (0/1) ]
The seraphim, with only one wing on each side, strolled through the air.
The side with the left wing was Sari-el, and the side with the right wing was Ramiel.
It made me question how they managed to stable themselves flying with only wings that required flapping upwards to maintain their position, but that doubt vanished immediately as combat began.
Suddenly stepping forward, Adella pointed a finger at the statues.
“You guys aren’t scary at all! We’ve got a real angel with us!”
“What angel? Who?”
Did Adella have some special summoning ability that I didn’t know about? I had referenced everything from Tree Wiki.
“Of course, it’s you!”
“Me?”
At her sudden declaration, I quickly asked if she was pointing at me.
