I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 545: Turte Oasis and War God Church_2

In the market, various stalls were densely packed together, offering everything from fresh fruits and vegetables, hand-woven carpets, to exquisite pottery and sparkling jewelry. The array of goods was dazzling, leaving people overwhelmed.

The shouts of vendors rose and fell, mixed with the sounds of customers haggling and laughing, creating a lively symphony of life.

Particularly eye-catching were those unique items from distant continents, like rare pelts from the Northern Icefield, faintly shimmering with a blue light and with a touch as smooth as jade; and exotic spices from the Southern Elf Forest, emitting an enticing aroma, making one feel like they were instantly transported to a foreign land...

These goods not only showcased Respei City's importance as a trade hub but also made it a sanctuary in the hearts of explorers and itinerant merchants.

In the corners of the market, old men wearing traditional attire could occasionally be seen, either sitting or standing, playing ancient musical instruments. The melodious tunes drifted with the wind, adding a touch of serenity and peace to the bustling city.

Lis and Taya strolled casually around before heading towards their destination.

Lis had wandered the Western Desert for a long time in his previous life, so this scene was not surprising.

Taya was also similar; she might have been excited initially, but as she got familiar, she wasn't as curious anymore.

Casually buying some skewers of roasted sand lizard meat and camel meat, they fed each other as they walked towards the War God Church.

Although the War God's Holy City of Ambundo was situated in Turte Oasis, it did not mean other cities in Turte Oasis were unrelated to the War God Church.

These cities were all under the control of the War God Church, with each city having its own War God Church.

Similarly, Turte Oasis was protected by the War God Church. Anyone trying to create chaos here would face the church's retaliation.

Soon, a magnificent and towering church appeared before Lis and Taya.

The War God Church located at the heart of Respei City stood like a majestic monument, proudly amidst the city's bustling and noise, yet maintaining its own solemn and tranquil realm.

The entire church was built with hard stone, its spire towering into the clouds as if piercing the sky. Its lines were sharp and decisive, without a trace of redundancy, emitting an indescribable aura of deadly resolve and iron-blooded spirit, as if every brick and tile bore the will and glory of the War God.

The exterior walls of the church, etched with the marks of time, instead of diminishing its majesty, added a sense of historical depth.

The massive oak doors were inlaid with intricate metal decorations, resembling armor patterns that glistened in the sunlight, seeming to guard the final line of defense leading to the sacred hall.

Those entering and leaving the church included humble and devout ordinary believers, but mostly were more extraordinary professionals with formidable presence and sharp eyes, exuding a fierce and bloodthirsty aura.

This was typical for War God believers; before venturing on their expeditions, they would come to the War God Church to pray to the War God, hoping for smooth endeavors in the upcoming battles.

They would not pray to avoid battle, as that would go against the doctrines of the War God Church.

Lis quickly devoured the camel meat; the hump meat was indeed very greasy, but under the intense flavor of copious spices and fierce roasting, it had its own charm.

Bringing Taya into the church, no one stopped Lis from entering, nor did anyone come forward to solicit donations.

Stepping into the War God Church felt like crossing the boundary of time and space, arriving at a sacred place with an aura both solemn and slightly bloodthirsty.

The air faintly carried the iron taste unique to battlefields, seemingly bearing the bravery and sacrifices of countless warriors, immersing one in a tragic yet uplifting atmosphere.

The church's interior was high and spacious, the dome reaching the clouds, as if intending to deliver the believers' prayers directly to the War God.

Sunlight streamed through the stained glass windows, depicting the War God's glorious conquests, with vibrant beams interweaving on the ground in a symphony of light and shadow, adding a touch of mystery and fantasy to the entire church.

The most eye-catching was the massive War God statue.

The statue stood at the center of the church, seeming to guard the entire structure.

The War God held a gleaming long sword, and a shield firmly protected his chest, as if he had just stepped out of a brutal battlefield.

It was filled with the courage of battle, yet didn't lose the steadfastness of protection. Sunlight poured through the stained glass windows just right onto the statue, coating the cold stone with a layer of golden radiance, making the statue appear more grand and majestic, as if the War God himself had descended to earth, overlooking his believers and this land.

Around the statue were various offerings and sacrifices, including flowers, candles, and weapons/armor left by warriors, quietly narrating their reverence and gratitude towards the War God.

Lis and Taya walked into the church and paused for a moment.

After sensing, Lis shook his head slightly, a bit disappointed.

No, there's still no resonance with the Power of Faith.

Absorbing the Power of Faith at Dawn Cathedral had given Lis quite impressive abilities.

The Power of Faith in the War God Church located in Respei City was not as abundant as in the Dawn Cathedral, and Lis was unable to absorb it.

However, Lis did not feel regret, as Ambundo City was still waiting for him!

There was the War God's Holy City, with definitely no problem.

Thinking of this, Lis led Taya towards the altar in front of the War God statue.

Several priests of the War God Church were waiting there, accepting the prayers of the believers.

As they approached, the priests noticed Lis and Taya.

Compared to the surrounding believers, the two were too unique in appearance and aura.

Where did these strong individuals come from?

Seeing that the two did not exhibit a devout demeanor but maintained appropriate respect, the priest knew they came to the church for other matters.

The leading priest did not dare to underestimate them and hurriedly went forward.

"Welcome to the War God Church. May I know what you need?"

"I wish to see the great bishop. I have something important to report. Could you please inform him?"

Lis controlled his Magic Power so that only the priest in front of him could hear his voice.

"Alright."

The priest glanced deeply at Lis, then nodded and responded, turning to walk towards the back of the church.

Lis did not pay attention to the curious gazes around him, instead, he began to examine the War God Church.

Every Divine Church worships different gods, hence their doctrines and styles are completely different.

If the style of the Dawn Church is Light, gentle, and pure, then the War God Church leans towards a harsh and combative iron-blooded style, not avoiding death.

In the eyes of War God believers, the battlefield might be their best destination.

Lis did not have to wait long before the priest returned, and led Lis and Taya to the resting room at the back of the church.

As soon as Lis entered, he saw an elderly man, extremely muscular, dressed in a black robe, sitting on the chair facing the door.

The thin clothing could not conceal his strong body. This bishop of the War God Church looked more like a powerful warrior rather than a priest.

"Your excellencies, what business do you have with me?"

Leonel Martin, the Bishop, was alarmed upon seeing Lis and Taya.

Very strong, stronger than me!

And two of them appeared at once!

The special perception granted by the War God made Leonel understand Lis and Taya's strength. Although this did not make him fearful, it did make his attitude more serious.

"Nothing much, just bringing someone over."

Lis looked at the old man in front of him and casually threw the still-unconscious Fess on the ground.

Leonel was stunned and instantly stood up, showing a look of shock.

"Is this... Fess Martin?"
