Chapter 458 Adela's Thoughts_2
"I originally wanted to take Daphne with me when I left, but perhaps it's more suitable for her to follow you,"
Adela said to Lis with a smile:
"Whenever you have time, let Daphne bring you to the Elf Land. The ceremony for granting the status of Elf Sage needs to be held in Elf Land."
"Though Daphne is a bit mischievous, her talent is quite exceptional. She also needs some experience, so let her help you out, Lis."
Hearing Adela's evaluation, Daphne secretly made a face.
"As for her safety, Lis, you need not worry,"
"This... alright,"
Although unclear why Adela suddenly decided that the Moon Elf, Daphne, should follow him, Adela's words seemed to hint at something.
Right now, Lis still wasn't very clear, but one thing was certain: Daphne's identity was definitely not simple; it seemed that Elf Great Sage Adela placed great importance on her.
Could it be because of Daphne's talent?
However, in previous interactions, Lis had not felt that there was anything particularly special about Daphne; her strength also showed nothing extraordinary.
Was there something else I hadn't noticed?
Though taken aback, Lis still nodded in agreement.
Being suddenly entrusted with a Moon Elf girl felt somewhat strange.
As for Daphne, she naturally had no objections.
To her, this was essentially an indefinite vacation away from Elf Land; she was too delighted to oppose.
As this meeting drew to a close, Lis and the others also took their leave.
Daphne originally wanted to leave with Lis, but Adela pulled her aside.
It seemed there was still something she needed to instruct.
...
After leaving the Elf Holy Hall, Lis hesitated for a moment and chose not to head to the Jade City Council as previously planned.
Originally, his visit to the Council had been to report the occurrences at the Elf Royal Court, waiting for the Elf Kingdom's reaction.
But having met Adela in advance meant that the upper echelons of the entire Elf Kingdom would be aware of the Elf Royal Court; there was no need for Lis to worry about these matters anymore.
Just waiting quietly would suffice, to see what actions the Elf Kingdom would take next.
In his previous life, because Demogorgon's plans at the Elf Royal Court had not been discovered, the Royal Court was utterly destroyed, and Demogorgon eradicated all clues afterward.
Although the Elf Kingdom and the Elf Gods were furious at Jonor City's destruction, after a long search for clues, they could only pinpoint the Endless Abyss as their target at best.
Over time, the investigation into the destruction of the Elf Royal Court got stuck at a very awkward point and had to be reluctantly stopped there.
Until the Abyss Blood Battle erupted, the Elf Clan across the Fanor Continent was in a rather chaotic state without a clear cause, everyone worried about possibly being attacked any day.
Because of this, Lis had originally planned to leave Elf Forest after obtaining the "World Tree New Bud".
But now, having become one of the World Tree's Favored, he was deeply tied with the World Tree and the Elf Clan in a sense.
In the eyes of those Abyss Evil Gods, Lis, emanating the life and order aura of the World Tree, was extremely bothersome, naturally standing on an opposing side.
Of course, Lis had no intention of cooperating with those Abyss Evil Gods.
Being one of the World Tree's Favored gave him a very high starting point in the Elf Clan, which gave Lis a significant operation space.
Not to mention, he could completely establish a new force in the Elf Kingdom through his identity as an Elf Sage, focusing on combating the forces of the Abyss Demons.
Lis not only could strategize for the future Abyss Blood Battle, but he could also prepare in advance, waiting for when the Elf Forest map would be made available to players to harvest a wave of benefits.
So, right now, Lis needed time to clear his thoughts for the future.
Without saying much else, Lis took Cecil and others and walked towards other areas of Jade City.
First, find a place to settle down, and then take Cecil to see her father,
Cecil seemed much better, but the pain of losing her loved ones still deeply saddened this naive Elf girl.
As for Bella and Mil, they had turned their grief into flames of vengeance and had become much quieter than before, seeking Lis every day to learn methods of increasing their strength.
...
Jade City Council,
This was a magnificent building woven from magical vines and inlaid with crystal dewdrops and delicate starlight. Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, casting mottled patterns of light and shadows gently upon this land favored by the World Tree.
Inside the hall, the space was exceptionally spacious, with a soaring ceiling that seemed to reach the sky. The walls around were embedded with numerous glowing crystals and gemstones which gently swayed with the whispers of the elves, emitting a soft and mystical light.
A very large circular table stood quietly in the center of the hall, seemingly made of pure moonlight with edges inlaid with fine silver threads and small floral patterns, seemingly exuding a faint fragrance. Various chairs were meticulously arranged around the table, carved from ancient trees and entwined with soft vines, all exuding a sense of nature and harmony.
Although Jade City represented the open and inclusive thoughts of the Elf Kingdom, this building, which symbolized the highest power of Jade City, still preserved the most ancient traditions of the Elf Clan.
"Cough cough..."
An elderly, thin elf sage stood next to the circular table, coughed once, and though his face was covered with the wrinkles of time, his voice remained loud and far-reaching.
All discussions and whispers quieted down after this elder's reminder.
"Just now, I have already conveyed the intentions of Great Sage Adela to everyone,"
Jade City Councilman Alfi Fare nodded, and continued,
"Regarding the destruction of the Elf Royal Court, what are your thoughts?"
The entire council hall fell silent for a moment, as the many significant figures in Jade City looked at each other, their faces slightly disbelieving.
For them, the high-ranking elves, the destruction of the Elf Royal Court was undoubtedly a massive shock.
It was almost one-fifth of the entire Elf Kingdom's high-end strength, completely destroyed by Demogorgon.
Not even a single Elf Legend had managed to escape.
This event was already dramatic enough, being something that had not occurred in the million-year history of the Elf Kingdom.
And because of this, normally when a council was convened to discuss matters, about half of the council members would attend, but this time almost everyone was present.
They thought the discussion was going to be about how to face the destruction of the Elf Royal Court, but a mid-meeting notification from the Elf Great Sage gave them an even greater shock.
Demogorgon's aim was far more extreme than they had thought!
Even the World Tree Yggdrasil had been tainted by the strength of the Abyss!
For a moment, many hearts wavered with boundless anger and a sense of helplessness.
Seeing no one speaking up, Alfi was somewhat helpless.
But indeed this matter was too important, and it was normal that no one dared to discuss it recklessly.
Perhaps this was something that should concern the Elf Gods?
Just then, a faint voice broke the silence:
"Councilman, was there a human involved in the affairs of the Elf Royal Court?"
Alfi was taken aback, then nodded and said,
"Your Highness Philip, that is correct."
"That human is named Lis Kain, and has already been granted the title of [Elf Sage] by Goddess Fenrir."
A human being granted [Elf Sage]?
This outcome surprised many, but it soon settled down after a minor stir.
If it was the Elf King doing such a thing, perhaps there would be many objectors.
But since this was the will of the Elf Goddess, no one dared to openly oppose it.
"I understand,"
A blonde elf stood up, indifferent to others' reactions and slowly walked out.
"I'll go meet him then."
