-------------------------------------------------------------
Kaito pulled out several fingertip-sized pieces of dragon vein crystals from his sleeve and quickly set up a formation.
"Ryūmyaku, Resurrection Formation."
As his hands formed seals, golden mist flowed gently, enveloping Itachi's body.
Kaito lowered his hands and turned to Sasuke. "Alright, the formation will slowly repair his body."
"Thank you," Sasuke glanced at Itachi before looking away.
"You're welcome," Kaito said as he looked up at the sky. "Are you really going to send him to the graveyard? After all, that's Konoha's territory."
"Isn't that perfect?" Sasuke sneered. "That's the village he always loved."
Kaito sighed. "What I mean is, it might not be convenient. Even if we confine him there without alarming Konoha, we can't just dump him in the barrier and leave him to starve."
"Tch." Sasuke clicked his tongue, annoyed. "Such a hassle."
"Heh." Kaito chuckled. "Think it over carefully."
"You must have a brilliant idea, don't you?" Sasuke stared directly at Kaito.
"Nope," Kaito said, spreading his hands.
"Hmph!"
As they talked, Itachi, lying on the ground, slowly opened his eyes.
"Sasuke…" he said softly.
Sasuke turned, expressionless. "You're awake."
"Why didn't you kill me?" Itachi stared intently at Sasuke. "And why didn't you take my eyes?"
"I'll do as I please," Sasuke said stiffly. "As a prisoner, you have no choice but to accept what I decide."
"Uncle," Itachi turned to Kaito, "give my eyes to Sasuke."
"I said I don't want them!" Sasuke snarled, glaring at Itachi before Kaito could respond. "I'll handle this my way!"
"Sorry, but on this matter, I'll respect Sasuke's wishes," Kaito said with a "sincere" smile.
At this moment, the golden mist enveloping Itachi dispersed, and the dragon vein crystals used in the formation had completely disappeared.
Though his body had recovered somewhat, Itachi silently stood up without attempting to escape.
'Has he accepted his fate?'
Despite his apparent compliance, Kaito harbored doubts.
Considering his earlier attempt to use Kotoamatsukami to alter Sasuke's mind, Itachi didn't seem like someone who would give up so easily.
"If it's Sasuke's wish…"
Itachi glanced at Sasuke, who quickly looked away, leaving Itachi visibly dejected.
"So be it."
Kaito clapped a hand on Itachi's back.
He wasn't particularly interested in figuring out what Itachi was thinking.
Golden chains extended from Kaito's palm, swiftly coiling around Itachi before merging into his body.
"I've sealed his chakra," Kaito said to Sasuke. "Let's head to the graveyard."
He then turned to Neji. "Neji, find a nearby place to settle down for now. My paper clone and Izuna will stay with you."
"Understood," Neji said, moving beside the paper clone.
"Alright, we'll be back soon."
Golden chains once again emerged from Kaito, linking him, Sasuke, and Itachi.
Golden mist enveloped them, and the three sank into the ground.
---
Konoha, Uchiha Graveyard.
Inside the barrier, a small paper figure jumped out of a tree hollow, transforming mid-air into Kaito's form.
He landed lightly, crouching to place his palm on the ground.
Golden energy spread from his hand, forming a golden pool on the empty ground beside the graves.
Swish!
Three golden-shrouded figures rose from it.
"There's a clone here too?" Sasuke opened his eyes to see the paper clone.
"Heh, not just here," Kaito said with a smile. "For convenience, I've hidden paper clones capable of summoning my true body in many places."
"That's practical," Sasuke admitted, though he seemed to remember something. "But didn't you rely on Gurē to return to Mount Ōeyama last time?"
"The distance was too far!" Kaito said matter-of-factly. "Why exhaust myself dragging so many people along?"
Sasuke twitched slightly, covertly casting a disdainful glance at him.
'Luckily, Gurē didn't hear that.'
"Alright." Kaito glanced at Itachi, gesturing. "We have work to do."
Sasuke sneered at Itachi's motionless figure.
The moment Itachi opened his eyes, the rows of gravestones filling the graveyard overwhelmed his vision, bringing back deeply buried memories of harsh truths.
It was me…
It was my own hands…
He looked down at his palms, recalling the lives he had taken here.
Though he didn't regret his choices, he couldn't escape the reality before him.
He staggered forward, gazing blankly at the gravestones until he stopped before one in the corner.
Sasuke followed his gaze, vaguely recognizing the name engraved on the tombstone: Uchiha Izuna.
Sasuke tried to recall more but couldn't pinpoint the details.
Meanwhile, Itachi moved again, finally stopping in front of the gravestones of Fugaku and Mikoto.
Sasuke turned to Kaito, signaling with a hand gesture.
Understanding, Kaito raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Sasuke nodded firmly.
Kaito retrieved two low-grade possession paper figures and began a precise summoning.
For souls he had summoned before, Kaito could remember their unique spiritual frequencies, allowing him to bypass needing summoning materials for future attempts.
Mangekyō Sharingan activated as the summoning array appeared, and the passage to the Pure Land opened. Two soul flames emerged, colliding with the paper figures.
The paper figures stretched and transformed into a man and a woman with black hair, standing before Sasuke and Kaito.
"Where is this?" Mikoto opened her eyes, first seeing the young man and boy before her. "Kaito! Sasuke!"
"Sister, Brother-in-law," Kaito greeted with a nod.
"Father, Mother," Sasuke bowed politely.
"Husband?" Mikoto turned and saw Fugaku beside her.
Fugaku silently nodded.
"What's going on? Where is this?"
Mikoto looked around and suddenly froze.
"This is a graveyard?"
She noticed the lone figure watching from afar.
"Itachi?"
"Father, Mother," Itachi remained still, kneeling where he stood. His hands overlapped, and his forehead touched the ground.
"Itachi!"
Mikoto rushed forward, stopping before her son with complex emotions in her eyes.
After a long silence, her voice trembled. "Stand up, Itachi…"
"That was your own choice," Fugaku added, joining Mikoto. "Once a choice is made, there's no need to regret it. The ninja world doesn't allow for regrets."
Itachi's body trembled slightly, but he didn't raise his head.
