I Am Hades, The supreme GOD of the Underworld!

Chapter 435: Chapter 435: The Phoenician City-State! Princess Europa! A New Ruler of the Underworld’s Lands?!

Zeus, the former God-King of the heavens, had now vanished entirely.

To be precise, Zeus had transformed due to unique circumstances, becoming the entity known as Porus. Zeus, Abel, and Apollo, in a strange and mysterious way, had merged to give birth to Porus, the fourth and most perfect generation of God-King — a being that should never have existed.

With Porus's birth, Zeus was naturally erased, as if he had never been.

Yet…

"No doubt about it!" Mephistopheles muttered with intrigue, "This is Zeus's divine power and essence of life. But… how? Zeus should be completely gone!"

Mephistopheles couldn't comprehend what was unfolding here. However, he knew one thing: he needed to investigate and see what was really going on.

Phoenicia

Phoenicia was a prosperous city-state on the coast, with the rich cities of Tyre and Sidon. In the early days, under Prometheus's guidance, Phoenicia had grown swiftly, transforming from a barbaric society into one of the mightiest human kingdoms in the Mortal Realm. Its position by the sea and its stronghold-like defenses made it a difficult target for invasion, while its wise and powerful king, Agenor, led a formidable army.

Agenor himself had fought valiantly in battle, defeating and killing over 100,000 of a foreign race. His achievements made him a top figure among humans, celebrated as a victorious ruler. And as if his success in war and governance were not enough, he had a daughter of divine beauty.

Europa, a princess of remarkable beauty and grace, could rival any goddess in appearance. She was beloved by her people and admired for her wisdom. Phoenicia, by all accounts, was the epitome of a flourishing nation.

Yet, recently, Princess Europa had become troubled. In her dreams, she often saw a vague figure of a perfect man, one she could never fully discern.

The true mystery lay in the fact that she was pregnant.

Yes, Europa was unmistakably pregnant, yet she was certain she'd never been with a man. In this era, social conventions were not rigid, especially in the chaotic realm of Greek mythology. However, Europa was also next in line to be queen. A scandal of this magnitude would bring utter chaos to Phoenicia, destabilizing the nation and casting doubt on her legitimacy.

This issue weighed heavily on Europa's heart, leaving her somber and withdrawn.

Until…

"Your Majesty?!"

Mephistopheles was startled. He immediately dropped to one knee, his eyes filled with reverence. Standing before him was none other than his own ruler, Hades, King of the Underworld.

But why was Hades here? This made no sense at all. Hades was accompanied by the Twin Gods, Hypnos and Thanatos, who both looked calm and composed.

Hades observed Mephistopheles and spoke, "Come, Mephistopheles, let us see what lies ahead and meet the next ruler of the Underworld's lands."

"Yes, my lord," Mephistopheles replied, though he was still bewildered. Wasn't the role of the Underworld's earth goddess meant for Hypnos?

What was going on here? The whole Underworld had anticipated Hypnos's ascension to this position. Though it hadn't been officially announced, it was understood across the realm. So, to give this title to someone else was puzzling.

Yet, from the expressionless attitudes of the Twin Gods, it was evident they had no objections. This could only mean they had received suitable compensation.

His lord Hades was known for his sense of justice. He would reward Hypnos and Thanatos for their relinquished title, likely with something substantial to honor their contributions.

Still, Mephistopheles didn't fully grasp the implications of this change.

Hades, however, offered no explanations. The Twin Gods themselves were also unsure of their future roles. Hades had only summoned them to inform them that the position of earth deity was being given to another, and left it at that.

Surprisingly, Hypnos and Thanatos felt relieved. Though deserving of the title, holding the position of Underworld's earth deity was a weighty matter that neither of them found particularly appealing.

In truth, it would have been awkward for one to hold the title over the other, as they were inseparable brothers. For them, this was an ideal outcome. As for the rewards they would receive in place of the title, they had no doubts; Hades had always been just in rewarding his followers.
