Chapter 105: The Sea Overlords?

With just a slight effort, the woman confessed everything. The organization she belonged to was a pirate group called the Sea Overlords, quite famous in this area and known for their wickedness.

Giovanni had never heard of them; before joining Team Rocket, even going to the seaside was a luxury— but Matisse, the captain of the Golden Beauty, had.

"The Sea Overlords are ruthless," he said to Giovanni. "If they target us, the Golden Beauty won't even have a chance to escape. We need to leave here. Now."

"Is that so?" Giovanni glanced at him. "If they are so powerful, then why didn't they act against the S.S. Anne earlier? And why did they only send a few scouts?" He then looked down and asked the woman, "How about you answer my question?"

Looking at Giovanni's dark, empty eyes, the woman unconsciously replied, "It's like this..."

As the largest cruise ship at the dock, the S.S. Anne had at least ten senior-level trainers stationed on board and one Gym Leader-level captain. It was originally the safest cruise ship in the region.

The Sea Overlords didn't dare to act against it, but recently their leader had captured a Gym Leader-level Tentacruel. Moreover, this Tentacruel was the alpha of a massive tribe of Tentacool and Tentacruel— by capturing it, they had gained adequate cannon fodder.

This had made the Sea Overlord's leader overconfident. After a period of silence and preparation, he planned to pull off a big job.

Besides the three scouts, there were actually many members already on the S.S. Anne, waiting for this period when the ship was docked for its banquet.

What was originally a display of boldness had now become an opportunity. As for why the three of them had come to the Golden Beauty, it was because a small, independent ship wouldn't check its passengers too strictly.

A violent explosion sounded in the distance. The surface of the luxurious cruise ship seemed to bloom with deadly flowers of fire and sparks. The S.S. Anne let out a cry of lament, its massive hull tilting as chaos erupted on board.

When the woman saw that the operation was successful, she was happy for a moment, but then remembered her situation. "Let me go!" she shouted to Giovanni. "I can help you leave safely! As long as you let me go!" Under her hopeful gaze, Giovanni nodded.

Just as a hint of hope appeared in her eyes, she heard him instruct Mars. "Kill her."

Pfft.

Under the woman's disbelieving gaze, the dagger in Mars's hand slit her throat. Crimson blood spurted out. From the moment Giovanni hadn't even bothered to ask her name, her fate was sealed.

Matisse's pupils contracted when he saw this. Just then, due to the massive explosion, Surge and the others, who were still resting, were awakened. They came out of the cabin, full of curiosity, and saw the brutal scene. They screamed in fright, some of the younger ones crying directly. Even Surge's face turned pale.

Giovanni gave Matisse a look and waved to Archer with his Arbok and Raticate moving to the side, leaving some space. Matisse had no choice. If he wanted to live and protect the children, he had to play along.

"Don't be afraid!" He said quickly, helping Giovanni smooth things over. "They were pirates! If it weren't for Giovanni's timely intervention, we might be the ones dead now!"

Surge and the others trusted their captain very much. Once he said that, their anxious hearts settled.

"Don't just stand there," Giovanni said to them. "Didn't this person say her accomplices would arrive soon? We need to leave quickly."

"Right, right," Matisse also remembered and quickly urged them, "Quick, we need to escape, or it will be dangerous if we run into those people." He started moving first, and the others quickly followed suit.

Following the S.S. Anne was no longer an option. Now, they could only rely on themselves. Giovanni had Archer and the others help with the preparations, and he also released his Machoke and Nidorino.

He stood at the bow of the ship, looking at the S.S. Anne, engulfed in flames, shouts of battle echoing from its deck. Pokémon and brilliant moves... it was truly spectacular.

If it weren't for his insufficient strength, he would have wanted to join in.

Under Matisse's command, the Golden Beauty quickly began to move and changed its course, solely to avoid the Sea Overlords. All the lights on the ship were turned off as a precaution.

However, things are never that easy.

Giovanni gazed at the calm water, his sharp eyes seemingly seeing everything below. He gently raised his hand. Beedrill flapped its wings and flew to his side, its aura rising as it used Focus Energy. The Persian also crouched at the bow, looking down at the water.

The surface rippled slightly, and then a faint blue light appeared in the dark sea, illuminating everything. Tentacool and Tentacruel rose from below, with a few humans sitting on some of them, their faces ferocious.

They were members of the Sea Overlords. The entire surrounding area was now densely packed with Water-type Pokémon. Under the eerie blue light, even with all its lights off, the Golden Beauty had nowhere to hide.

They were completely exposed.
