Husband, Spend Some Gold Coins

Chapter 71 - II

After Xie Qi went to the toilet and was washing his hands in the sink, he saw the little girl who had been sitting at the same table with him coming out to wash her hands. He looked behind the girl and said to her, “You didn’t pull out your clothes.”

The girl looked at him blankly, so Xie Qi wiped his hands and reached out to pull the hem of her clothes out from her pants. “That’ll be fine.”

The girl blushed slightly, showing a bit of shyness, and said quietly, “Thank you.”

After saying that, she ran out but didn’t go very far. She seemed to feel it was immodest, so she immediately slowed down and walked away more ladylike.

Xie Qi watched her and inexplicably understood why Qin Yizhi was unmarried and childless. Should he get married, marry a wife, have a child, and take them to be a stone together?

Then he vaguely understood why Qin Yizhi was so reticent. He figured it must have been caused by the environment.

Xie Qi followed the girl out and saw that she had reached her mother. Her mother scolded her again and took her away with a displeased expression.

Xie Qi walked to Qin Yizhi and asked, “What’s the relationship between you two?”

Qin Yizhi said calmly, “She is my aunt.”

Xie Qi said, “Oh.”

He began to be more aware of words and expressions. He looked at Qin Yizhi’s face and asked, “Don’t you two enjoy chatting?”

Qin Yizhi replied, “Yeah.”

Xie Qi asked, “What were you talking about?”

Qin Yizhi didn’t want to say much and simply replied, “Let’s go.”

Xie Qi sighed and said, “I feel so depressed here. Did you grow up here?”

Qin Yizhi replied, “No, I have always been with my parents.”

Xie Qi thought to himself, how could he still have the same temperament as here?

Qin Yizhi paused and said in a calm tone, “I lived in the old house for five years in junior high and high school.”

Xie Qi: “…”

He felt a little sympathy for Qin Yizhi. He reached out and patted Qin Yizhi on the shoulder and said, “Thank you for your hard work.”

“… You can’t pat or touch my shoulders,” Qin Yizhi said in a low tone.

Xie Qi: “? Do you have the reason why?”

Qin Yizhi said, “There is no reason. I don’t like being touched. Don’t touch my shoulder in the future.”

Xie Qi: “…”

He quietly retracted his hand and stopped talking.

Qin Yizhi paused and then said to Xie Qi, “Want to go home?”

Xie Qi was stunned for a moment, then blinked and asked, “Can we go back?”

Qin Yizhi replied, “Yes.”

He smiled slightly, his eyebrows seemed a little softer, and his tone was a little easier, more easy-going. “If you don’t like it, then let’s go back.”

Xie Qi looked at him. For some reason, an inexplicable emotion surged in his heart, which made him say in a daze, “Did anyone tell you, Qin Yizhi, your smile is quite charming.”

Qin Yizhi raised his eyebrows slightly, his smile faded again, and he asked lightly, “What did you call me?”

Xie Qi came to his senses and immediately changed his words, “Husband.”

Qin Yizhi looked away and said calmly, “So, did I hook you up?”

Xie Qi, almost unconsciously, replied, “I’m just saying you look attractive.”

He said seriously, “Hey, if you smile often, you’d be able to capture anyone, even men. They’d definitely be vying to make you, their husband.”

Because Qin Yizhi did have the charm—he was tall and handsome, with a cold demeanour, and his smile was particularly heartwarming.

Qin Yizhi’s tone was low but with a hint of tenderness, and he said softly, “No need, I already have a partner.”

Xie Qi didn’t know why, but his ears started to feel a little itchy. It wasn’t just his ears… it seemed like his chest was a little itchy too.

Xie Qi looked away and couldn’t help but reach out to touch his ears. He could feel that the atmosphere was starting to become strange, and he was becoming a little strange too. He tried to change the subject and said, “Shall we pick some lotus pods before we leave?”

Qin Yizhi: “…”

He said with no expression on his face, “No, corpses have been dumped in the pond before.”

Xie Qi: “Huh??”

Qin Yizhi said expressionlessly, “Didn’t you notice? The lotus pods here are bigger and fuller than in other places because they are full of nutrients… from the corpses.”

Because it was Qin Yizhi who said that, Xie Qi couldn’t help but believe it.

He was a little frightened and felt unbelievable. He said hesitantly, “…but now we live in a society governed by the rule of law.”

Qin Yizhi replied, “It wasn’t before.”

Xie Qi: “…”
