Chapter 69 - I
Xie Qi stayed in bed for two days.
On the third day, it was the 80th birthday of Qin Yizhi’s grandfather.
Xie Qi did some psychological preparation but still felt a bit apprehensive.
There was no way around it; during this period, Xie Qi thought that the Qin family seemed like a group of feudal remnants.
He was a normal person and probably had nothing in common with these feudal relics.
The stylist who did his styling came to work on him but did not dare to say much.
Xie Qi also did not dare to apply face powder himself. He asked a question, and Zhang Rui replied quietly, “This occasion is more solemn and serious, so these flowery details should be avoided. Everything should be dignified.”
Xie Qi responded with, “…”
Solemnity? How much more dignified?
Xie Qi asked, “Should I wear suit or traditional clothes today?”
Zhang Rui laughed a bit, “It’s not that bad. Sister Shan has already reminded me, just like before, but don’t mess with those things on your face.”
He also adjusted the broken hair in front of Xie Qi’s forehead and said sincerely, “Young Master Xie, you would look much more handsome with a micro-parted bang, so let’s keep this hairstyle in the future.”
Young Master Xie said, “I don’t know; I’ll cut it when I go to school.”
Zhang Rui said regretfully, “Don’t cut it. Your micro-parted bang looks very good, more aesthetic. Do you know what a sense of aesthetic is? Keep this hairstyle, and I guarantee you could become a social media celebrity with more than 10 million fans.”
“Huh? A social media celebrity? Do they make money?” Xie Qi asked.
Zhang Rui was stunned and answered truthfully, “Of course, it’s profitable. If it’s a hundred million fans, the monthly income could be four hundred thousand. If it’s ten million fans, the monthly income could be over a million.”
Xie Qi responded, “…… ah? Really?”
Zhang Rui looked at him with surprise and said, “Of course, it’s true. How could it be false? But it also depends on the niche. For instance, top makeup content creators can make a million dollars a month easily, but social media celebrity might earn a lot less. With the same fan base, the income can drop significantly. For example, with the same million fans, makeup content creators might earn over 400,000 a month, while social media celebrity might make around 100,000.”
Xie Qi humbly asked, “How much do you think I could earn a month if I became a social media celebrity?”
Zhang Rui casually said, “I think if you had a lot of fans, you could make 200,000 dollars a month.” He didn’t finish his sentence but then reacted, “… Young Master Xie, why are you asking? I’m just saying, don’t take it seriously!”
He couldn’t even imagine what consequences there would be if Mr. Qin’s partner became a small social media celebrity, so he quickly added, “It’s still very difficult to do. With the number of fans needed to be a celebrity, and with a lot of girls shouting ‘husband,’ it might not be appropriate, right?”
Xie Qi thought carefully, “Indeed, it’s not appropriate.”
Zhang Rui mentally wiped the sweat off his forehead, “Right, after all, you also have a family, so it would be a bit inappropriate to show your face to the public too much.”
Xie Qi agreed, “Indeed, you are right.”
Zhang Rui assured that it seemed unlikely that Xie Qi would try to be a social media celebrity. He scolded himself for his suggestion, noting that Xie Qi was not one of those starlets. Although Xie Qi had some teenage mentality and was easy to talk to, engaging in dubious online broadcasting would definitely lead to trouble for him.
.
Xie Qi changed into a suit for the more solemn occasion. Zhang Rui chose a relatively dull colour for him: pure black, paired with a matching small bow tie. Xie Qi’s youthful face, which could not be fully concealed by makeup, was marked by a lack of maturity.
His face had soft lines, suggesting it was still developing. He had a somewhat green plum-like, sour appearance. Regardless of who looked at Xie Qi, it was evident that he was quite young, definitely under twenty.
In reality, Xie Qi did not appear overly tender. His tall, attractive face had a slightly cold demeanour, and his pair of gold eyes could give off a sense of oppression. This also contributed to his aura of being unapproachable.
Zhang Rui thought that Young Master Xie and Mr. Qin had some similarities, though Mr. Qin was colder and more mature. However, the Qin family had strict rules, and there was no way to avoid them. Zhang Rui reluctantly sent Xie Qi out with this simple appearance.
Qin Yizhi probably did not know that Zhang Rui had been informed. When Xie Qi emerged, his face was clean, his eyes were still red, and there was a hint of redness at the corners.
Qin Yizhi frowned slightly and asked, “No makeup?”
Xie Qi replied, “Oh, your family rules are quite strict, so he didn’t dare to use it on me.”
He paused and then asked, “Do you still have to kowtow?”
Qin Yizhi answered lightly, “In the past, kowtowing was required, but now it is not necessary.”
Xie Qi: “…”
He knew it!
It was really a feudal family!
Xie Qi asked, “Why didn’t you have to kowtow now?”
Qin Yizhi replied, “I didn’t want to kowtow.”
Xie Qi: “…”
Great.
