Chapter 67 - II
The delivery in the same city was very fast. The maid brought the package back to him. Xie Qi opened it and sent a message to Qin Yizhi: “I bought you something as a return gift for Dan Huang. Is it convenient for you to come and get it?”
Qin Yizhi asked, “What did you buy?”
Xie Qi replied, “This can be considered a surprise.”
Qin Yizhi was silent, and after a while, he asked, “Where are you sending it?”
Xie Qi said, “Just put it in our room. Come and get it if you can, or I can send it to you. Where are you?”
Qin Yizhi said, “I’ll get it.”
Xie Qi waited for him in the living room next to the bedroom.
Qin Yizhi arrived quickly. He was tall and had long strides. It took only a very short time from when Xie Qi heard the door open to when he came to him. He saw the box on the table and looked at it, then gave Xie Qi a glance of thanks.
Xie Qi said calmly, “Open it quickly. I think you might like it.”
Qin Yizhi bent down slightly, picked up the box with his long arms, and opened it to find another layer of ribbon wrapped inside.
Qin Yizhi lowered his eyes slightly. The coldness in his eyebrows poured out, but the movement of unraveling the ribbon was gentle and slow, with a bit of care.
Xie Qi watched, his heart suddenly twitching. He thought in a daze that Qin Yizhi was actually a really good person.
Very good in all aspects.
What was actually embarrassing earlier was that he had insisted on sterilizing Ah Huang and had kept denying Qin Yizhi’s idea.
Speaking of Qin Yizhi, he didn’t force him not to sterilize Dan Huang.
It seemed… to a certain extent, he was the kind of person who was more likely to listen to what Xie Qi said. This also showed that he respected him very much.
Qin Yizhi finally dismantled the box and managed to open it. He pried open the lid with his fingers but paused again and stared at Xie Qi.
Xie Qi looked at him and asked subconsciously, “What’s wrong?”
Qin Yizhi withdrew his gaze and said lightly, “I like very few things.”
“…” Xie Qi responded, “Well, I also said that you might like it.”
Qin Yizhi finally opened the box and took out an exquisitely crafted music box.
He glanced at Xie Qi but said nothing. He simply opened the music box. Inside it were two little figures dancing to the music, though the tune was somewhat unfamiliar.
Xie Qi explained, “This is a song from ‘Plum Blossom No. 3.’ It nourishes the kidneys. Isn’t your Yang energy a bit too much? It’s a good time to listen to music for kidney health.”
Qin Yizhi’s eyes fell on the beautifully crafted music box again, observing the two figures dancing gracefully.
Xie Qi pointed at the figures and said, “This is you; this is me. Let me listen too. I might have some kidney deficiency.”
Qin Yizhi asked, “You are only 18 years old; how could you have kidney deficiency?”
Xie Qi replied with a serious tone, “This kind of kidney deficiency comes from the inside out, alas.”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
Qin Yizhi closed the music box, stopping the music abruptly. He said calmly, “I like it very much and will listen to it often.”
Xie Qi suggested, “You can put it in our bedroom. We can listen to it for ten or twenty minutes before going to bed every day. This is called music therapy.”
Qin Yizhi agreed, “Yeah.”
Xie Qi looked at Qin Yizhi’s expression. Although it often seemed as if someone owed him eight million, he could still vaguely sense that Qin Yizhi’s emotions were flat. He asked with some concern, “Don’t you like it?”
Qin Yizhi lowered his eyes and said, “I like it. It’s very good.”
Xie Qi glanced at Qin Yizhi’s expression and felt that he really didn’t like it and seemed to be forcing a smile.
For some reason, he recalled what Li Siwen had said.
Xie Qi: “…”
He tried to shake off the thought that the girl might have been right.
But what if she was?
Xie Qi asked tentatively, “If you don’t like it, how about I exchange it for another gift?”
His expression was calm and natural, his golden eyes looking at Qin Yizhi with a hint of hesitation.
Qin Yizhi wasn’t interested but still said calmly, “There’s no need, I like it.”
Xie Qi felt that Qin Yizhi’s mood wasn’t very good, and he didn’t like this music box.
Okay, wrong gift.
Xie Qi stood up and approached Qin Yizhi, intending to kiss him. However, Qin Yizhi quickly pinched his face with his hands. Since Xie Qi had soft cheeks, Qin Yizhi’s fingers easily dug into them.
A bit embarrassed, Xie Qi’s lips were pinched and deformed as he said vaguely, “Let go.”
Qin Yizhi paused, stared at him with those dark eyes, and asked in a low tone, “What are you doing?”
Xie Qi looked at him, his brows relaxing a little. He opened his eyes and said vaguely, “To make you happy.”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
Qin Yizhi replied calmly, “I’m not unhappy. I like all the gifts you gave me. That’s the truth.”
He let go of Xie Qi’s flesh, “Do you think I lied to you?”
Xie Qi touched his cheek and said, “I saw that you were not happy.”
Qin Yizhi asked, “Where did you see it?”
Xie Qi said naturally, “From the frequency and volume of your words, I can sense that you’re not very interested.”
Qin Yizhi paused and asked in a low voice, “What did you want to do just now?”
Xie Qi hesitated and said softly, “I wanted to kiss you to see if it would make you happy.”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
Qin Yizhi said coldly, “I need to make this clear: don’t kiss me.”
Xie Qi responded, “You seem to have said this before…”
He thought for a moment and said bluntly, “You are really hard to coax. I won’t coax you anymore. This music box was made after a long discussion with the shop owner. It is my sincerity. Just accept it.”
Qin Yizhi asked coldly, “Why do you think kissing me would make me happy? Are you usually coaxing like this? To everyone?”
Xie Qi blurted out naturally, “That’s not true. I have only kissed cats, and I did that to show my love. Now that I think about it, maybe I wanted to kiss you to express my love, not to coax you.”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
As Xie Qi spoke, he had an epiphany and reflected on himself in a complicated way: “Looking at it this way, I realize I was quite selfish and didn’t consider your feelings. I’m sorry.”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
