Hunter X Hunter, Reborn as a Kuruta Tribesmen

Chapter 74: Chapter 74

After leaving NGL, Rocky chose not to use his abilities to return directly to the former homeland of the Kuruta tribe. Instead, he opted to travel by conventional means, using local transportation.

The journey was long and tedious, taking him ten days to reach his destination.

During this time, Rocky focused on quietly adjusting his state of mind. He practiced his Nen diligently while traveling, even if it was just the basics. These simple yet consistent exercises allowed him to make significant progress.

Finally, Rocky arrived in the closest town to the Kuruta tribe's former homeland. The town was bustling with activity, populated primarily by locals of this country.

Rocky observed the scene with calm detachment.

*What are these people doing here?*

It didn't take long for him to connect the dots. The Kuruta tribe's destruction had long been exposed to the world. Given the fame of the tribe and the shocking nature of its annihilation, it was no surprise that people were still drawn to this place.

The involvement of the Phantom Troupe, a notorious organization, only added fuel to the fire, ensuring the site remained a point of interest even now.

Rocky wasn't fazed. He knew the former homeland of the Kuruta tribe had been sealed off. Quietly, he bypassed the blockade and ventured into the remnants of his tribe's land.

The once-thriving area was now reduced to ashes. Most of the buildings had been burned down, leaving little of value behind.

Even what remained of the ruins seemed to have been scavenged by others long ago.

Rocky wandered through the desolation until he reached the location of the collapsed escape passage. To the untrained eye, it was nothing more than a ruined cave, devoid of significance.

But to Rocky, this place held a deeper meaning.

As he stood there, his Scarlet Eyes flared to life, glowing with fury.

Etched onto the wall in Nen, glowing faintly, were words that sent his anger into a frenzy:

*"We are a bandit organization, seizing everything we want. We refuse nothing, so don't try to take anything from us.

The Phantom Troupe has claimed the Scarlet Eyes, one of the Seven Beauties of the World!"*

The message was unmistakably left by the Phantom Troupe, deliberately taunting him.

*They knew I'd come here. They wanted me to see this,* Rocky realized, his fists clenching.

Without hesitation, Rocky raised his hand, channeling his Nen. A blast of energy surged forth, obliterating the words on the wall.

"Very good, Phantom Troupe," Rocky said through gritted teeth. "You seem proud now. But don't get too comfortable—I'll come for you soon."

His voice was low but filled with a deadly promise.

The tribe's Scarlet Eyes were sacred. Letting them remain in the hands of others was unthinkable. Rocky vowed to retrieve every last one of them.

---

As he left the ruins, Rocky's expression was dark, and his emotions churned violently. He couldn't calm himself no matter how hard he tried.

Walking through the forest, he suddenly lashed out, punching a giant tree with such force that it snapped in half.

The explosion of sawdust filled the air as the massive trunk groaned and fell to the ground.

Before the dust settled, Rocky was already gone, a flash of white light streaking across the sky.

---

Finding the Phantom Troupe was not going to be easy. Their elusive nature was precisely why they had earned their reputation as one of the most dangerous and mysterious groups in the world.

The most reliable way to track them would be through the Hunter Association's intelligence network. However, there was one glaring issue—Rocky was not a licensed Hunter.

He needed a Hunter's help.

Hiring a professional Hunter would cost money, but that wasn't a problem for Rocky. What mattered more was finding someone strong enough to take on this task. Ordinary Hunters wouldn't suffice.

As he considered his options, a name suddenly came to mind.

"That's it," Rocky murmured, a smile spreading across his face. "A year has passed—he must have grown stronger since then."

Not only that, but Rocky realized he had information that this person couldn't refuse.

His smile deepened as he opened the system's information panel, checking the time.

There were still more than ten days before the next modification would begin.

For Rocky, this was the perfect window of opportunity. He decided to find that person, the one who could help him gather critical information about the Phantom Troupe.

Raising his hand, Rocky hovered in the air. A sword materialized in his grasp, and soon after, the **Flying King Bow** appeared alongside it.

Rocky frowned as he examined the weapon. "I don't need any special intel on someone I've already seen with my own eyes."

He recalled that the last time he met this person, the Flying King Bow had been in development. It should still serve its purpose.

With that, Rocky launched the **Guidance Arrow**.

The arrow shot through the sky, looping in an elegant arc before returning to Rocky. As it reappeared, it transformed into a crystalline form, merging with the energy surrounding him and pointing out a direction.

Satisfied, Rocky glanced at the indicated path.

Without hesitation, he turned into a streak of white light and vanished into the air.

---

Meanwhile, in a small town, a man sat in a modest restaurant. He was casually eating and poring over a map, a half-eaten hamburger in one hand.

Suddenly, his instincts kicked in. Something was wrong.

A creeping sensation washed over him, as if he were being watched—locked onto by an unseen force.

The unease grew stronger by the second.

Then, a faint fluctuation of Nen energy rippled in the air. The man bolted from his seat, dashing out of the restaurant with such speed that nearby patrons stared at him in shock, as if he were some kind of monster.

The speed at which this guy burst out just now was too terrifying.

He came to a stop on the street, scanning his surroundings. His eyes darted nervously, searching for the source of the disturbance.

Snap!

The faint sound of something breaking reached his ears, followed by the appearance of white crystalline fragments floating in the air around him.

"What is this?" he muttered, his voice filled with both confusion and alarm.

"Long time no see, Kite," a familiar voice called out.

Startled, the man—Kite—whirled around to see Rocky standing before him, cloaked in white.

"It's you!" Kite exclaimed, his surprise evident.

He hadn't expected to see Rocky here, of all places. But curiosity quickly overtook his shock. *What does this kid want from me?*

"What do you need me for?" Kite asked, cutting straight to the point.

Rocky nodded. "I need your help with something."

Kite raised an eyebrow. He could sense the immense growth in Rocky's aura—it was far more refined and powerful than before. That only made him more intrigued. *What could someone this strong possibly need my help with?*

"Alright," Kite said after a moment, "let's talk inside."

Rocky glanced at the restaurant Kite had pointed to and followed him back inside.

After taking a seat, Kite ordered some food for Rocky, then waited patiently for him to explain.

Rocky didn't waste any time. "Have you heard of the Phantom Troupe?"

At the mention of the name, Kite's eyes narrowed. "Of course. A gang of thieves—all of them are Nen users."

"I need you to help me investigate them," Rocky said bluntly.

Kite tilted his head, studying Rocky's expression. "Investigate the Phantom Troupe? Why?"

Rocky's gaze didn't waver. "I want to know where they are. You have a Hunter license, right? That means getting this information shouldn't be too difficult for you."

Kite frowned slightly. "It's true that I can gather intel using my license, but you realize that dealing with the Phantom Troupe is no small matter, right? They're not exactly people you can provoke lightly."

Rocky smiled knowingly. "That's why I'm offering you something in exchange—information about Ging's location."

The name hit Kite like a bolt of lightning. His expression shifted immediately, his interest piqued.

"Information about Ging?" Kite asked, his tone skeptical but intrigued.

"Yes," Rocky confirmed. "Finding the Phantom Troupe will be easier than tracking down Ging, don't you think?"

Kite stared at him for a moment, processing the offer. It didn't take long for him to decide.

"Deal," Kite said finally.

Rocky's smile widened. "Good. How long will it take you?"

Kite leaned back in his chair, thinking. "Give me half a month. I should be able to get their general location within that time, but pinpointing their exact whereabouts won't be easy."

"Half a month is perfect," Rocky said, satisfied with the timeline.
