Hunter X Hunter, Reborn as a Kuruta Tribesmen

Chapter 64: Chapter 64

**Greed Island**

Rocky gazed at the expansive island, its suitability for cultivation undeniable. With abundant resources, convenient transportation, and diverse monsters ideal for training, it was the perfect environment.

"Piro!"

Rocky turned to face his companion. "This is as far as I'll go. You need to train hard. I hope you'll catch up to me soon!"

Piro nodded resolutely. "Don't worry! I won't hold you back. And you should keep looking for Kurapika. That guy must still be alive!"

Rocky smiled confidently. "Of course, he's alive. I'll find him!"

Holding the so-called "ticket" in his hand, Rocky walked toward the port. With a flash of light, he disappeared from sight.

Piro stared at the spot where Rocky had vanished, clenching his fists tightly. Turning back to the group behind him, he called out, "Mr. Razor, please don't go easy on me. I want to become stronger as quickly as possible!"

Razor smiled, watching Piro's determination.

"I don't want to fall behind next time," Piro added, his voice steady but filled with resolve.

"Don't worry," Razor assured him. "As long as you put in the effort, you'll catch up in no time."

After leaving Greed Island, Rocky set his sights on Whale Island—Ging's hometown. Named for its resemblance to a whale, the small, obscure island was not even officially recognized on most maps.

Locating Whale Island was no easy feat. After purchasing a detailed map and determining its location, Rocky began his journey.

Five days later, he boarded a ship and arrived at Whale Island.

Rocky had two objectives: first, to find any clues about Ging; and second, to locate Kite. He remembered that Kite had visited Whale Island in the original story, likely searching for Ging as well.

Meeting Kite would be ideal, as it might yield valuable information about Ging. If not, Rocky had other plans.

One of those plans included visiting Gon's house to see the box Ging had left behind. It wasn't the box's contents that intrigued Rocky but rather the divine script Ging had etched into it.

As a relic hunter, Ging's use of divine script fascinated Rocky. It might even hold connections to the inherited divine words of the Kuruta tribe.

Reflecting on something Dwun and List had said earlier, Rocky recalled Ging's statement: "The Kuruta tribe itself is a relic."

Coming from Ging, a professional relic hunter, this was no casual remark. It suggested Ging had uncovered something significant about the Kuruta tribe.

If the divine script Ging used was connected to the Kuruta tribe's inheritance, it could point to an ancient civilization whose legacy had been partially preserved.

Upon arriving at Whale Island, Rocky disembarked and quickly located the Mito family tavern.

A woman was cleaning outside—a mature beauty whose age showed gracefully.

Rocky walked past her and entered the tavern without hesitation.

Startled, Mito called out, "Sorry, we're not open yet. Come back this afternoon—" She paused, noticing the small boy entering.

"A child?" she muttered, putting down her cleaning tools and hurrying over. "Are you lost, little one? Where are your parents?"

Rocky climbed onto a barstool taller than himself and sat as if he owned the place. "Give me a drink!"

Mito couldn't help but laugh at his "little adult" demeanor. "You're quite the brave one, aren't you? Not scared at all?"

She poured a glass of juice and handed it to him. "Sit tight. I'll call someone to help you find your parents."

Rocky sipped the juice, unfazed. "I doubt you'll find the person I'm looking for."

"Who are you looking for? What's your parent's name?"

"Ging."

The rag slipped from Mito's hands as her jaw dropped. "What… what did you say?"

"I'm here to find Ging. This is his hometown, right?"

Mito's mind raced. "How old are you, kid?"

"Eight."

Her face darkened. Eight years old? The same age as Gon. So *that's* why Ging never returned when Gon was born. He had another child elsewhere...

Lost in thought, Mito didn't notice the small figure entering the tavern.

"Aunt Mito! I saw—"

The boy stopped mid-sentence, staring at Rocky.

Wearing a green outfit, Gon stood at the doorway, his curiosity piqued. "Who are you? I've never seen you before. Are you from outside?"

Ignoring Gon's question, Rocky asked, "What were you saying about the forest just now?"

Intimidated by Rocky's stern tone, Gon stammered, "I… I met someone there. A big brother… he saved me…he said his name was Kite!"

Rocky's eyes lit up. Luck seemed to be on his side—he hadn't expected to encounter Kite so soon.

Without another word, Rocky jumped off the barstool and headed for the door.

"Wait!" Mito called after him, hurrying to stop him.

But Rocky was already gone, disappearing into the distance.

"Aunt Mito, who was that?" Gon asked, tugging on her sleeve.

Mito's expression darkened. "Who is that kid? Hmph! Ging, you idiot! First, you abandon your son, and now this! I'm going to find your photo and toss it in the toilet!"

Despite her anger, Mito ran after Rocky, determined to catch up. No matter how she felt about Ging, the boy deserved better. Having traveled so far to find his father, he didn't deserve to face danger alone.
