Chapter 138: Chapter 136
Chapter 136: Journey to the Undersea World
While the Ravenclaw couple's date in London remained unassuming and quiet—spent tucked away in the corner of a bookstore—Alexander Smith and Hermione Granger were experiencing the most exhilarating adventure of their young lives.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" Alexander screamed endlessly at first, only to realize something even more terrifying: silence. A haunting, absolute quiet.
There should've been someone behind him—Ryan, maybe Kate—but only the echoes of his own panicked cry reached his ears.
Then, slowly, the connection to his double—the magically created body—began to fade. Not only did he lose the feeling, but the memories of controlling that second body began to slip away like a dream dissolving at dawn.
It was hard to say how much time passed, but eventually, Alexander regained his composure and began to take in his surroundings.
Though it was nearly winter, sunlight pierced through the ocean surface above him. It provided little warmth but cast long golden rays across the depths.
All around him, the sea teemed with dazzling life—schools of vibrant fish, ethereal jellyfish, and coral in every color imaginable. Their gentle presence offered Alexander a surprising comfort amid the eerie quiet of the undersea tunnel.
He reached out and brushed the tunnel wall. The material was strange—warm to the touch, definitely not water. When he pressed gently, it pushed back like elastic. Despite the distance he'd slid, there was no burning from friction, no worn spots on his robes. In fact, the movement felt… silky.
He flushed, slightly embarrassed, as he realized he almost enjoyed the bizarre sensation of sliding along the tunnel wall. Maybe, he thought, it wouldn't be so bad to close his eyes, stop thinking, and just enjoy the feeling of gliding through the sea like this.
Then, a more practical thought struck him—this tunnel supposedly stretched from the UK all the way to the Bermuda Triangle. Shouldn't that take days?
He patted his pocket. Thankfully, the pie Anthony had given him before breakfast was still there. But how long could it sustain him? And what if he got thirsty? Could he… lick the tunnel wall? What about using the bathroom?
He shifted uncomfortably. The tunnel was so smooth that it offered no traction—there was no way to stop, or even slow down.
Still, Alexander trusted Ryan. And that trust anchored him through the creeping claustrophobia. Even so, being alone for so long in a confined space allowed shadows from his past to creep back in.
He remembered the cupboard under the stairs. Whenever Aunt Petunia was upset, she'd lock him in there for hours—sometimes days. The dark space had been filled with spiders, but those spiders had, oddly enough, become his only company.
Now, in this underwater slide, he began to talk softly to the passing fish, giving them names. Slowly, his eyelids dropped, and he drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Hermione fared much better. The time she experienced felt shorter. Like Alexander, she screamed at first, but curiosity quickly took over. She studied the tunnel walls, analyzing the material and magical properties, marveling at how smooth it was—clearly something otherworldly.
Hermione had visited aquariums before, but none of them compared to the majesty of this living ocean. Fish, plants, and colors she'd never imagined filled her vision until, eventually, even she began to tire… and dozed off.

At exactly noon, in a hidden library somewhere in London, Kate leaned against Ryan, both of them still immersed in magical theory books.
They bickered and discussed topics playfully, exchanging quips and challenging one another's knowledge. Happy moments like these passed too quickly. Ryan glanced at his watch—it read 12:34:23.002.
He stretched. Kate instantly understood. Time to go.
She gently closed her book, rubbed her eyes, and slipped her hand into his.
A moment later, they too appeared in the undersea tunnel—Kate in front, Ryan behind.
The space shimmered faintly with soft blue light as they passed through some kind of magical membrane. Then the scenery changed dramatically—they had arrived beneath the Bermuda Triangle.
In the distance stood a vast, translucent, flat-topped pyramid that glowed softly in the ocean depths.
The serpentine tunnel they were riding wove straight into the pyramid's peak. Inside, Alexander and Hermione stirred awake.
"What just happened? Are we… already here?" Alexander muttered, rubbing his eyes. His stomach wasn't even growling. Hadn't it been only an hour?
Before he could ponder further, the crystalline pyramid caught his attention. He'd seen drawings of pyramids in books, but this one was different—its top was flat, and it seemed alive.
"Is this Atlantis?" Hermione breathed, nearly overcome by the wonder of it all.
Within a minute, the two of them slipped through the tunnel into the massive pyramid—and what they saw left them speechless.
It was an entire city.
Above them was a sky. Below, a sun-like orb illuminated the world within. The tunnel walls had changed too—becoming even more transparent, made of the same glowing material as the pyramid itself.
Atlantis was made up of bubbles, each like a pomegranate seed suspended in the great glass dome. Inside these bubbles were habitats—tiny biomes with their own terrain and magical life.
Some were lush gardens with towering trees and fluttering magical beasts: Bowtruckles, Tree Monkeys, Puffskeins, Thestrals, and more. Others were fully submerged, where wizards and merfolk in enchanted helmets swam among aquatic creatures.
Grindylows, wearing what looked like kelp leashes, played games with the mermaids, chasing after shining shells like dogs on a beach.
There were bubbles dedicated to underwater sports, magical botany, desert simulations, rainforest preservation, and even Quidditch played underwater.
Their flying devices defied everything Alexander and Hermione had ever seen. Instead of just brooms, Atlanteans flew in fish tanks, astride dolphins and sharks, and aboard enchanted beds, carpets, sofas—even floating toilets.
Their attire was equally wild—robes woven from jellyfish filaments, cloaks made of kelp, and coral-crusted armor.
And their wands? Almost none were wooden. Instead, they were carved from sea bones, polished coral, glowing crystal, and even enchanted shells.
Alexander and Hermione gaped in awe. The descent slowed deliberately, as if giving them time to soak it all in.
But too soon, they landed gently in a pool of clear, glowing fluid.
They gasped—then realized they could breathe.
Their robes were dry.
Their skin was dry.
It was as if they hadn't fallen in at all.
"Alexander, Hermione—welcome to Atlantis." Ryan's calm voice reached them like a bell through the water. He stood at the edge of the pool, smiling with a mixture of pride and amusement.
