Chapter 128: Chapter 126 - Genini.
[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]
Third Person POV
London.
...
...
In the middle of the forest house, flashes appeared through its windows, while a fight seemed to have begun, and more and more magical explosions were happening. The very wood of the house exploded as curses were cast, and more and more screams echoed while the sounds of people choking and dying could be heard.
Snape had stunned two of them while mercilessly killing the rest, and so, he cut down another one until only two remained, looking at him with fear-filled eyes.
"He... he is a monster!"
The illusion of an innocent student quickly crumbled as they faced something they had never seen before. Snape was eliminating them with such ease that they couldn't believe this was a Hogwarts student.
"We must get out of here!!"
They could be arrogant and behave like thugs, but they certainly knew when they needed to flee from a situation where their lives were at stake, especially as they saw the monster calmly walking toward them, as if these were the last moments of their lives.
"!!"
One of them didn't think twice, summoning his magic as they began to distort their bodies, spinning into a distortion to escape through Apparition.
But as his body twisted, Snape reappeared in front of him, extending a sword with a longer reach and thrusting it into the Apparition along with the wizard, without knowing exactly what would happen. The result was that the Apparition was completed, but the Dark wizard's head fell to the ground while his body had disappeared, likely falling wherever he had tried to escape to.
"Ahh!"
His companion, the last one remaining, jumped in terror as his gaze fell on Snape, filled with fear.
"You know... at school, I used to punish students. I never expected that I would go from that to massacring groups of wizards. Not that I haven't done it before, but I'm surprised at how much I've had to change the way I deal with these things now."
Snape commented calmly, while blood was splattered everywhere as he approached the wizard, who stood paralyzed, unable even to move to run away or use magic, frozen by the fear he felt at that moment.
To him, Snape was a monster—especially since his aura was active, showing a boy surrounded by a black mist with blue eyes inside it, a terrifying image for them.
"There's only one left, and unfortunately for you, I already have the ones who will give me the information I want, right there, unconscious."
Snape spoke, aware that the wizards he needed were lying unconscious in a corner of the cabin, spared during the fight with stunning spells.
The man could only wait for his death. It didn't take long before a groan of someone being killed echoed inside the cabin.
Meanwhile, the fallen men were now tied to some chairs that Snape had Transfigured, and he woke them up by removing the spells on them.
As soon as they regained consciousness, they froze at the sight of the cabin full of blood and dead people, while Snape, the student they had expected to capture, stood there, studying them with an emotionless face.
"It's good that you're awake."
Snape began without his monarch aura, appearing as just a boy to them if they ignored his expression and the terrifying scene around them.
"What do you want? Who are you!?"
That was the first thing the two remaining wizards asked upon seeing the scene.
"I'm here in search of information... You know, I've never been interested in Legilimency before this year... but I think it would be good to test that magical skill I've never used."
Snape spoke calmly, while the men grimaced or turned completely pale.
"And about who I am, you know. As for what I want, well, we'll find out now."
Snape showed no emotion as he spoke. These people wouldn't have thought twice about killing him if necessary and if they could do so. Clearly, he wouldn't show any mercy to such fools.
In the end, the cabin shone once again with two Avada Kedavra, with Snape killing them in a clean death before simply leaving the place, teleporting in some direction to figure out where he was, using the spell several times to move faster. After all, he had a limit with shadow teleportation.
In the end, he went to the Black Manor. It had been three hours since he was captured, and it was already noon when he arrived at the residence, confirming that no one would be watching him. He rang the bell.
Kreacher appeared the next moment, and as soon as he saw Snape, his gaze became cautious.
"It's you, Master Snape..." he murmured, and with a snap of his fingers, the gate began to open.
"That was quick... but not bad..." Snape commented as he walked inside.
"I will inform my lady of your presence, but there's no doubt she will receive you." He spoke in a much gentler voice than he usually did when dealing with Snape.
He returned a moment later.
"Please, follow me," the house-elf said again.
"Why are you so different with me now...?" Snape couldn't help but ask. He could accept the Black family being more friendly after Astraea had tried to enter his mind, but the arrogant house-elf's newfound politeness was something new to him.
"Let's say I saw something I shouldn't have." Kreacher merely muttered those words, leaving Snape a little confused. But what Snape didn't know was that when he activated his monarch aura, the house-elf could see something that the sick saw every time they looked at Snape.
Snape simply followed him inside the house, and as he entered, he saw Paris. The young man gave him a more cautious look than ever before, watching him enter before returning to one of the corridors without greeting him—not that Snape cared, as it would have been strange.
Heading upstairs to the room where he had first met Astraea, he entered and found her alone, while the portraits there watched him.
"Half-blood..."
The disdain was heard once again, but Snape didn't care.
"Silence. Kreacher, remove Julius Black IV's portrait and place it in storage."
Astraea's voice was heard, and Kreacher nodded, walking toward Snape's portrait.
"Wait! What are you doing?!"
The portrait protested before disappearing along with the house-elf, while Snape continued walking until he sat in front of Astraea, who stood up to greet him this time, while the portraits watched the scene, as baffled as they had been the first time Snape was there, wondering how things had ended up like this.
"It's been a month since I last saw you," Snape commented calmly, and Astraea nodded at his words.
"Yes, I hope you've been well... I heard about an incident in Diagon Alley this morning. For a moment, I thought you might be the teenager who was kidnapped."
She spoke as she looked at him. Seeing that Snape was here, it couldn't have been him, although she had sent some members of her family to investigate. After all, as the matriarch of a great family, she always needed to know what was happening in the magical society of England.
"About that, you're right... It was me."
Snape commented, opening an amused smile, while the woman raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"So..."
She could barely speak, startled by how naturally Snape spoke.
"They're dead. All of them. I just let them capture me so we could have more privacy, and I wanted to extract some information from them. It was quite easy to kill each of them by cutting off their heads."
Snape spoke as if he had done something mundane.
It was rather sinister to speak like that, but he wanted to send a message. After all, he wasn't lying.
All four portraits in the room reacted with shock as they heard a young man calmly talking about killing someone—or even a group, as he was doing here.
"..."
Astraea said nothing, though a shiver ran through her as she heard the boy speak so easily about such things in front of her.
She couldn't determine just how dangerous he was. It didn't seem to be that entity, but rather the boy himself sitting before her.
"Anyway, I discovered some interesting things," Snape said in conclusion.
"You know that they..." Astraea began.
"That they tried to kidnap my father last night? You could say yes."
Snape spoke, leaving Astraea speechless.
"That was one of the matters I wanted to discuss with you," she said quietly.
"I understand. It's fine, since I can handle this on my own," Snape said, while the woman nodded.
"Some families have contacted me to form a conspiracy against you. I refused, but I also can't help you..." she commented, knowing she couldn't become an enemy of the other families while passing information to Snape, since they all served the Dark Lord.
"I'm fine with that, but I'm sure you have something else to discuss with me, right? After all, you got my house-elf, didn't you?" Snape spoke calmly, drinking the tea Astraea had served as soon as he sat down.
"Yes... let me call her," she said, seeming not to want to stay in a room with Snape for another minute after what she had heard.
"Kreacher. Call the elf," Astraea called the elf, who quickly left the room, and a moment later, the door opened with the Black family's elf entering and another of the same size coming right behind.
Snape looked at the elf coming toward him, while Kreacher guided her in front. It was a female house-elf, with the typical appearance of one, wearing ragged clothes, but Snape was surprised by the way she looked at him.
The elf trembled the entire time, so violently that she couldn't hide it as she looked at Snape as if he were the worst monster in the world.
"This is Genini, Master Snape," Kreacher introduced her.
"Why is she so scared...?" Snape asked, as that was quite unusual. Astraea watched carefully as Genini took a few cautious steps forward, looking at Snape with a wary expression.
"I-I-I am Ge-ge-ge-genini. L-L-Lord Snape... I-I will be your house-elf from th-th-th-this day forward..."
She trembled and stuttered to the point that it irritated Snape.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, but you still haven't answered my question. Why do you fear me so much?" Snape asked, leaving the elf so paralyzed that her skin began to pale, and she couldn't even manage to say the next words.
With a dissatisfied look, Snape turned to Kreacher, who also seemed to grow fearful.
"I-I-I think it might be my fault, Master Snape," Kreacher began to stutter as well, while Astraea, beside Snape, frowned at his words.
The elf continued, lowering his head.
"I said that Master Snape is... I-I-I-I ended up telling Genini that Master Snape is the very shadow of destruction, that he is an entity who will bring chaos to the world, and that wherever he goes, a wizard so powerful that even the darkness itself recoils in respect."
Kreacher lowered his head even more, his voice trembling.
"I said he has an aura that devours even the hope of the bravest, and that when his gaze falls upon someone... it's as if their soul trembles. I told Genini that she would become his slave and have to do the darkest deeds for Lord Snape."
"..." Snape.
"..." Astraea.
"..." All the portraits.
Paralyzed. Genini.
Snape simply turned to Astraea, who didn't know what to say about it. She seemed quite frightened upon hearing that her house-elf had said such things.
"Kreacher... how could you say such words? I forbid you from saying anything about Snape from this day on!" Astraea raised her voice.
"Yes, my lady. Kreacher will accept whatever punishment you give without complaint!" The elf said, still grumpy, but now maintaining a submissive tone mixed with fear.
"What a bother..." Snape muttered as he approached the paralyzed elf.
"Listen, Genini. I will be your master, and I want you to work for me from this day forward. I won't ask you to do anything absurd, so don't worry. After all, your only job will be to take care of my shop, nothing more."
Snape tried to sound as calm as possible.
Genini seemed to look up as she stared at him, still very scared, moving her head as if she were forcing herself to nod at what he said, even though she didn't seem to believe his words. Still, she kept the submissive posture her new master expected.
"Master Snape... if you wish... we can get another elf if this one doesn't suit you," Astraea said, now worried that Kreacher might have ruined her relationship with Snape.
But Snape simply shook his head.
"It's fine... I'll try to calm her down to see how she acts, so don't worry about it. Can you show me the shop before I leave? After all, I want to see the place and mark the fireplace as mine."
Snape spoke at the end, while Astraea nodded at his request.
