How to Be a Dark Hero’s Daughter

Chapter 57.2

“I’ve never seen a person fall from the sky before, so it was a bit surprising, but hello. Are you hurt?”

Why do I always meet this child in strange circumstances? And why is he in someone else’s house?

“I’m okay, what about the young lady?”

“I’m fine, the snow was soft, so I didn’t get hurt.”

Although unintentional, my voice sounded a bit cold. Cedric got up first and extended his hand to me.

I took Cedric’s hand and stood up.

“What were you doing in someone else’s house?”

“I was picking flowers. I was going to give them as a gift.”

“These flowers belong to our house, though,” I added timidly.

Should I be kind to him because he’s a prince?

My words may have sounded a little curt, but the boy just chuckled.

“It looks like I made you into a snowman.”

“Yes, it’s cold.”

I shivered.

“You look cold, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. It’s not like you did it on purpose.”

Cedric said.

‘Am I weak to appearance?’

He was such a handsome boy with a smile, that even if I wanted to be mad, I couldn’t, and it even relieved my nonexistent annoyance.

“You have snow in your hair.”

Cedric carefully reached out his hand and brushed the snow off my hair.

‘He seems like a sophisticated person. A bit peculiar.’

I felt like my cheeks were turning red for no reason.

“Are you a guest?”

“Not yet.”

“Isn’t it considered trespassing if you’re outside the door?”

“You become a guest if you come in. I came here to run an errand.”

I realized that I was wearing pajamas under my coat, which was tightly wrapped around me.

‘Since we’re both kids, it should be okay.’

I cleared my throat and adjusted my coat. If Jade gave off a cat-like vibe, then this boy…

‘Has a refreshing vibe?’

He spoke like an adult.

I thought about it in terms of my past life.

This kid seems like he could become dangerous if he grows up.

“Anyway, if you’re a guest, please come in.”

I turned my back.

Before breakfast, the atmosphere in the hallway was tense.

“So, did the prince trespass into our garden?”

“He wasn’t trespassing, he was picking camellias,” I quickly corrected his words.

“I forgot to knock on the door since I was admiring the garden. I apologize for the rudeness. I am here on behalf of the royal family, the second prince Cedric.”

Cedric politely greeted us. He seemed calm and collected even when faced with Collen. It felt like he would remain this way no matter who he was speaking with.

“Ah, so you passed through the main gate in a carriage with the royal family’s emblem. How old are you?”

“I’m thirteen years old.”

“So, what’s the matter?”

I don’t know why, but Collen has had an angry expression since earlier. Is it because I secretly went out to the garden in the morning?

“I have something to deliver.”

Cedric approached me and took out a small box from the bag he was carrying.

It was a small jewel box with a carved lily pattern.

“This is a small token of gratitude from our royal family to the lady who saved Princess Lavigne.”

Cedric then bowed to me with perfect manners and kissed the back of my hand.

‘Oh…’

It felt really good. Even though we’re just kids, it was my first time receiving a hand kiss. It tickled in a strange way.

“Ah, thank you.”

I received the box with a cold demeanor. Ugh, it’s really heavy.

That’s when it happened.

Crack.

The sound of something breaking echoed through the room. Collen? I looked at the armrest of the chair my dad was sitting on.

“Oh, Dad? Isn’t the handle cracked?”

“Oh, I’m sorry. I can’t control my strength lately,” Collen said with a smile.

But for some reason, his smile seemed scary today.
