House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men

(Drakken's POV)

"My Lord...." Alyssa approached me as I was leaning on the wall, with my arms crossed, "I come to plead with you...." 

I frowned, "Huh?" 

I was in the Red Keep, waiting for Maegelle to finish saying her goodbyes so we can return home. Turns out she was spending time with Daella before she left, but I didn't want to get in between that. 

She looked like she was holding tears back, looking down as she trembled slightly, "I will get on my knees if I have to." She said, "But please.....please reconsider Baelon's punishment. Please....." 

I rolled my eyes, "After what happened, you would prioritize that?" I asked, "Come on, Alyssa. You're better than this." 

"My Father will do as you told him, I know he will!" She said, "He won't let my son die, he won't.....but please, My Lord.....I am already your faithful servant, I have done so much for you...why must you treat me this way?? Why must you-" 

I cut her off by clamping her mouth shut with my hand, "You are one annoying woman." I said with a scowl, "I already told you, Alyssa, that all I do is to punish Baelon for his part in Daranne's death!! I don't give a shit if ten or twenty years have passed. So long as she is not here yet, I will never forgive your brothers nor your Father. Do you understand?!" 

I removed my hand as she simply stood back and sniffed. 

"But....." She started

I reached for her hair and gently grabbed a lock between my thumb and index finger, "I understand your feelings." I said, "To be a parent, it is quite the feeling. I know why you might want more. And I respect that you are loyal to Baelon. That love you hold for him.....it is admirable, I admit. But the truth is.....from the moment I met the two of you, I never really like him. At first, I disliked you too. But.....eventually, you grew on me." 

She looked down, "Lord Drakken...." she said, "I would do anything...anything but betraying Baelon.....so please...." 

I tilted my head and grabbed her chin, lifting it up to have her look at me, "Anything?" I asked, "Are you certain? You are begging me, of all people, to release Baelon from his fate. And you say you would do anything? Alyssa, I am giving you one chance here...are you certain?" 

A tear ran down her cheek as she looked at me, her eyes full of pain and sorrow. I never really expected that this situation would affect her this much. And looking at her eyes, I never really realized how beautiful Heterochromia was. She had a violet eye and a green eye, which were quite an interesting yet nice combination. 

For whatever reason, she reminded me of Vaella, whose eyes were purple and red. 

And at this moment, I somehow felt my age. 

I was much older than her. Hell, I was older than her parents. 

So at this moment, I saw her as the girl that I met that day in the Dragonpit; a little girl. 

"Yes....." She said softly

I patted her cheek, wiping her tear with my thumb as I leaned in closer to her, "You are my servant, right?" I asked, "Alyssa Targaryen, the little shit who smashed a rock on my head." 

She nodded, "I am." 

I then gave her a wicked smirk as I rubbed her cheek with my thumb, "Then you will kill for me." I told her, "If you wish to release your husband from his curse, you will kill for me. No questions asked." 

"What?" She asked

"Use a blade....your dragon.....I don't care." I said as I pulled away, "But I will point you at a person and you will kill them. Do I make myself clear?" 

"A-And you will.....?" She said as she blinked

"Yes." I said, "Serve me well, my child, and you will be rewarded well. In this case, I will undo Baelon's curse so the two of you can finally have more children. As his punishment, I will go another route and I won't hear any complaints. Do we have a deal?" 

She looked down, "I....." 

"Kneel." I pointed down, "And seal it with a kiss....." 

I gestured my hand at her, showing her that she needs to kiss it. 

She slowly got on one knee and grabbed my hand, "H-How many do I need to kill?" She asked softly, "And.....w-will they be....i-innocent?" 

"Those are the only questions I will allow to be asked." I said, "Before you seal it, that is. But I'll answer it. The minimum will be fifty. And I won't answer the other question." 

She closed her eyes, "Fine...." 

She then gently kissed my hand as I smirked, sealing the deal. 

I then crouched down and patted her head, "You have nothing to worry about, Alyssa." I told her, "When you serve me well, and I have no doubt that you will...your family will be safe." 

"I have served you well...." She said softly, "Why do I need to further prove myself?" 

"That is the way things are." I said as I grabbed her hand, "At the very least, with me....you have a physical form to speak to, to beg to, to cry to.....to hate.....unlike the false gods that everyone else worships." 

"My Lord...." She said as she looked down, "Will our Families ever be at peace?" 

"If it is up to me...." I started, "No. Never." 

"I see...." She said softly, "It makes sense.....you hate my father." 

"And your family hates me." I said with a slight smirk, "But it is expected." 

"I don't.....I don't hate you." She said

"You shouldn't." I told her, "Because if it weren't for me, you and your boy would be long dead. Don't you dare forget that." 

"I will never." She said softly

"One day." I told her, "You will see....you will truly see the future I have planned for this world....." 

"You plan to lay waste to everything. The Great War..." she said

I nodded, "From the ashes of the destruction." I said, "A new future, a new beginning, it will rise. And it will be what everyone will desire. The world will finally be at peace.....trust me on that...." 

"The world will know true peace."
