Chapter 4: Bonding

I struggled to comprehend the fact that I had just been picked up by a dragon, and was being kidnapped.

Time passed, I don´t know how much, as the Dragon landed, in a clearing amongst the trees, it let me down as I struggled to stand still, stumbling a few steps before I regained my stance, turning towards the silver dragon, and getting a full look at the majestic dragon.

He, or she was beautiful, silver blue scales cover its body, and its spiky head turned down, towards me. As it stepped forward, stretching its head out, as the distance between us disappeared, and right infront of me, was the head. Within arms reach.

It breathed out heavily, as if in a sigh, the strength of the sigh caught me off guard, and I very nearly stumbled. But I stood fast, as I stretched my arms out subconsciously, and the dragon, sort of purred and I felt something click within my mind.

It calmed me down, of sorts. And my mind quickly caught up, this dragon. Was none other than Silverwing.

There are 2 dragons of silver scales and the approximate size of this dragon, Silverwing and Dreamfyre, Dreamfyre should be more purple-like, and it's locked up in Kings Landing.

However, I also felt my mind sort of, agree. With my assumption, so with that. I was confident in the results, I had tamed Silverwing.

Now, I had achieved the first step in obtaining the grand price, and it was time to declare my entry to the world of politicking.

And so with that, I got onto Silverwing, and she understood my wish and lowered herself down, allowing me to climb onto her back and fasten myself to the scales.

"Fly. "I said, and she responded by flying directly into the air, she didn´t require a starting run.

"Calm Girl. Calm" I said as we reached the sky, and she was getting slightly shaky, as if afraid of something.

However, we ignored it as we headed for Evenfall Hall, and luckily we were on an island, so we followed the coastline, all the way to Evenfall Hall.

As It came within sight, I directed Silverwing towards it, and she listened. Allowing me to fly 2 times around the city, showing myself riding the dragon to the city underneath, and most importantly. The Keep, before I directed Silverwing to land infront of the main gate, which she did.

With a heavy thud, I felt us land as Silverwing bowed down, allowing me to easily slide off, and I turned to face the gate, just in time to see a man, and 4 others rush through It on horseback, heading towards me as Silverwing lifted her head, and grumbled. Sensing them approaching.

However, as soon as their faced became recognisable I smiled and relaxed, which Silverwing understood as she too calmed down, and stopped her grumbling.

"My Lord!" Daeron said as he got off his horse, and heading towards me, slowly. Looking at Silverwing cautiously.

"She won't hurt you, Daeron." I said, but he didn´t seem entirely convinced, but spoke up.

"We thought you had died, however we kept the hope up. You've been gone for the entire night, and we were just about to head out again." He said.

"You won't be rid of me just yet, Daeron. I was about to be crushed by the waves, when Silverwing here. Swooped down and saved me." I said, and I couldn´t help but be proud of such a feat, the dragon had actively sought me out and saved me, which was unusual to say it mildly.

However, before either of us could discuss it further, Silverwing let out a growl, which stunned Daeron. But I saw something out of the corner of my eyes, only to see a rider, carrying the flag of House Tarth exit the city walls.

"Calm" l said in high Valyrian, a language I had gone to great lengths in arguments against my dad in learning, but due to his pride in our Valyrian Heritage, he had eventually agreed.

And Silverwing did so, calming slightly. But still on guard.

The messenger was visibly relived, but also terrified once Silverwing stopped growling at him, and he dared to speak up, his voice cracking.

"L-lord Brandon Tarth, Lord of Evenfall Hall, The Evenstar and Admiral of the Evenstar Fleet, welcomes you. And invites you to feast with him." He said, his fear evident in his face.

"Very well, we shall meet Lord Brandon." I said, and the messenger did a bow, before he escaped on his horse, as I turned to Silverwing.

"Free" l said, and albeit reluctant. Silverwing took off, however. I knew that with our connection, he might instinctively know when I was finished, or needed to be picked up.

And with that, he headed into the forest, escaping my sight.

And with that, I turned towards Daeron.

"Well, my clothes are sort of ruined, so get me some new clothes from the ship." I said, as I remembered the fact that my clothes, although dry now. Were wet as shit before, and they were sort of destroyed, so I´d need a new pair of clothes before I met with Lord Brandon Tarth.

For now, with a dragon. My words held weight, a lot of it, previously I´d be sort of in a disadvantageous position during negotiations, but now, I was superior, by a lot. This night, I made our House amongst the top 10 powerhouses of the realm.

Perhaps even top 3, but the fact still remained that dragons wasn't all powerful, just pretty powerful. I still required other weapons to fulfil my goals.

Armies, Navies, Allies. Dragons didn´t give you everything, and I needed other ways to find these armies, for Claw Isle barely had the ability to raise an army of 1500 men, and that is taking every man on Claw Isle.

So, I needed proper alliances, and House Tarth was one worthy, it was isolated by sea and possessed a large naval force, making them mainly immune to armies. Of course they were no threat to the Royal Navy, nor the Velaryon Fleet.

But as it stood, the Royal Navy was the Velaryon Fleet in all but name. The Redwyne Fleet and the Ironborn also possessed a danger to the Tarths, but the Redwynes are easily overpowered by the Velaryons, and even if they weren't. The threat of the Ironborn was too much.

Either way, I followed Daeron as we headed for the port, I'd need to find some new clothes. Inform them of my survival, amongst other things.

I also would probably be forced to visit Kings Landing, after all. The Targaryens dominate due to their dragons, though I doubt they can withdraw my dragon from me, a proper respect must be shown.

For I had no power to object the crown, I had one dragon. No unmatched fleet, nor an unmatched flight of dragons, I had a single, slightly weaker one. I doubt I could kill Caraxes as it stood, much less Meleys.
