Horror :The Cautious Titan

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Horror Cruise – He Has Been Deceived and Is Lame. What Do You Want Him to Do?

Lucas was the first to notice the changes on his personal panel.

[Player: Lucas]

[Life: 100] (You're unusually protective of your own life.)

[Stamina: 65] (Most of it was consumed by wielding Thor's Axe and is currently recovering on its own...)

[Strength: 61] (Haven't you noticed how killing ghosts with the bloody kitchen knife gets easier every time?)

[Luck: 1] (Your cursed fate finally gained a one-in-a-thousand chance of hope.)

[Intelligence: 91] (Yes, brainpower can be trained—unless you're below 90. Then there's no hope.)

[Mental Power: 109] (Why is it that your mental value only increases… and never drops?)

[Skill: None]

Lucas stared at the numbers quietly.

"So 100 isn't the upper limit after all."

"When every stat begins to exceed 100… that's when you're no longer human."

He reached over and turned off the lights in Jasmine's room, her lifeless body still lying where it fell. Then, without any hesitation, Lucas stepped back into the hallway.

Room 207 was already open.

Trevor stood there like a shadow, leaning against the door frame as usual. His lazy posture hadn't changed, but his sharp eyes were already fixed on Lucas.

The blood dripping from Lucas's body made soft tapping sounds as it hit the floor, a red trail marking his passage.

Tick-tock—

Trevor's eyes followed the trail of blood.

Finally, a slow smile curled across his face.

Without a word, he raised his hand and made a subtle "please come in" gesture.

Lucas didn't hesitate. He walked in as if invited to dinner.

---

"You've got a decent brain, I'll give you that," Trevor said, pulling the door shut behind them.

Like Mark earlier, he began by complimenting Lucas's brilliant code from earlier—

'Good people don't open the door at night.'

Lucas responded with his signature shy smile.

"I had no choice but to take the risk. Desperate times, you know?"

Though Trevor clearly saw Lucas as a teammate, he was still testing him. His voice carried subtle traces of suspicion.

"I get that Jasmine wasn't the brightest, but… she seemed like a good person. If you killed her tonight, won't that rally all the remaining humans against you tomorrow?"

Lucas smirked slightly, his eyes unreadable.

"Tell me—who do you think our teammates are?"

Trevor paused, then listed a few names with careful thought.

"I'm certain about Caleb. Pretty sure Nathan's on our side too. As for the rest… maybe Natalie and Mark?"

It wasn't a strange guess.

The timeline had splintered, people had shifted rooms, and many events overlapped or collided. Even those in the same camp were often confused. That was why Trevor was desperate to connect with Lucas tonight—to clarify, to confirm.

Lucas shook his head. "Natalie wasn't one of us."

Trevor blinked. "She wasn't?"

Lucas met his gaze directly.

"I killed Natalie. Believe me, I would know."

Trevor remained silent for a moment, mentally processing that bombshell. He stared at Lucas, measuring every word.

And strangely, he began to believe most of it.

"So… Ivy, the one who's been hiding in her room this whole time… she's one of us?"

Lucas nodded confidently.

"Jason is a ghost. He almost took out Mark and Daniel earlier…" Lucas added casually. "Oh, and just before I killed Mark, I confirmed that as well."

Trevor couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

Even with his composed exterior, the idea of Lucas eliminating both Mark and Jasmine in one night was shocking.

[Player Trevor is stunned. Discovering that someone more terrifying than himself exists. Mental value -1, -1, -1…]

He coughed awkwardly and adjusted his expression, regaining composure.

---

"So… let's count."

Trevor started pacing slowly, muttering aloud.

"There's you, me, Caleb, Nathan, Ivy, and one more… that makes six of us."

He looked back up at Lucas.

"And on the human side… only Marco and Daniel are left?"

Lucas gave him a slight nod. He didn't say much, but his silence was confirmation enough.

Trevor clapped his hands together with glee.

"Six against two! Only Marco is even a threat at this point."

He circled the room twice, excitement growing with every step.

Lucas added calmly, "Even if they suspect me tomorrow, what can they do? Once all of us 'ghosts' show up together, they'll be surrounded."

Trevor broke into a full laugh.

"Exactly! Tomorrow, we reveal our roles, and we take them out one by one."

"Let's see what kind of fight Marco can even put up—when he's up against six ghosts alone!"

When Lucas left the room, the door clicked shut behind him.

Inside, Trevor finally couldn't contain himself.

"Wonderful… absolutely wonderful!" he whispered, clenching his fists in anticipation.

He was convinced.

Victory was within reach.

He waited for morning like a child waits for Christmas.

---

But back in the real world, the viewers watching Lucas's stream were stunned.

"Six against two?!" someone shouted in the chat.

"Trevor has no idea he's been played! And he's crippled on top of it!"

"It's not six versus two. It's actually five versus three!"

"And if the ghosts all reveal themselves now, they'll expose themselves before the humans are weak enough. It's suicide!"

"Trevor doesn't realize it… but Lucas just infiltrated the enemy camp and convinced them to jump to their deaths!"

"This is 4D chess at its finest. I'm more excited for tomorrow than Trevor is!"

---

Lucas's screen continued glowing faintly, and the chat was filled with a mix of awe, fear, and applause.

He had turned the tables again. Not with violence. Not with a blade.

But with a smile, a few careful words, and just enough blood to be convincing.
