Hogwarts: I'm Really a Model Wizard

Chapter 145: Chapter 145 ⭃ Cedric, the Great Savior

On the first day of the new school year, Fred and George became the center of attention for everyone. Even when they returned to the common room, the young wizards were still talking about the two of them.

"Do you think the Weasley brothers can really sell those candies?" Cedric asked with some doubt as he sat on the sofa, "Professor McGonagall probably wouldn't approve, right?"

"They definitely can't do it openly." Kyle said after a moment's thought, "But as long as they don't get caught, it's fine. The school also prohibits bringing Dungbombs and Filibuster Fireworks into the castle, but how often do you still see those things around? The professors are too busy to worry about these minor issues."

"This is different though." Cedric frowned.

He remembered that before school started, the Weasley brothers had told him those candies were meant to help young wizards skip class... how could professors ignore that?

To this, Kyle shrugged, indicating he wasn't sure either. But based on his understanding of Fred and George, these two had probably already figured out a solution.

As long as they weren't caught red-handed, the professors probably wouldn't suspect them. They would just assume the candies were products from Zonko's or other joke shops, and eventually add Ton-Tongue Toffees to the banned items list.

Hmm... that's probably how it would go.

As a Hufflepuff tradition, catching up on homework after the start of school was inevitable.

As more and more people filled the common room, Kyle and Cedric returned to their respective dormitories, giving up their spots to students who wanted to create miracles.

Their dormitory was the same as last year's, except now there was a sign on the door that read "Second Year". The room's layout hadn't changed at all, and it was very clean, probably tidied up in advance by the house-elves.

Kyle lay on his bed, looking at the familiar surroundings, and his consciousness quickly faded.

Having gone to bed early, Kyle woke up early the next day and headed alone to the eighth floor of the castle.

Since the Room of Requirement could perfectly simulate a natural environment, and the Mooncalves fertilized regularly every day, the garden remained in good condition despite his two-month absence.

But there were definite changes.

The most notable was the Devil's Snare. Being closest to the Mooncalves' nest, it had grown substantially larger than two months ago, with tendrils now as thick as a wrist and darker in color.

The Chomping Cabbages planted before the holiday had also sprouted, with fist-sized mouths opening and closing. Kyle estimated that within another week or two, they would begin growing teeth.

The dittany and rue were thriving as well, forming a lush green patch.

The Mooncalves were sleeping. The Billywig buzzed happily in the air and, upon seeing Kyle, immediately spun its propeller-like wings and flew toward him.

He instinctively stepped back, gave it a brief greeting, and then left the Room of Requirement.

The little creature seemed unusually excited today, flying erratically around him, seemingly forgetting the stinger on its body. Kyle certainly didn't want to get stung by it.

After leaving the Room of Requirement, he descended the stairs and returned to the Great Hall. By now, quite a few students were already seated, gathered in small groups, whispering and looking toward the Gryffindor table.

"Over there, look!"

"Where?"

"Next to that tall red-haired boy, the one with glasses."

"Harry Potter!"

"Did you see his face... that scar!"

Harry looked uncomfortable with all the attention, keeping his head down and eating his breakfast quickly.

Kyle walked to the Hufflepuff table. Fred and George were there too, talking with Cedric.

"Homework, Cedric, you've got to save us." Fred said pitifully, "I didn't expect to have Potions class on the first day of the new school year. If we can't turn in our homework on time..."

George shuddered, "Snape will definitely kill us."

"I can lend you my homework." Cedric said, "But class is about to start. Are you sure you can finish copying it in time?"

"We should make it." Fred nodded repeatedly, "We don't have Potions until second period, so we can finish it during Divination class."

"Alright then." Cedric thought for a moment and said, "I'll get it for you after breakfast."

"Thank you so much!"

Fred and George looked at him with gratitude.

"You've saved our lives!"

Cedric just smiled slightly. Since last night, he had saved many people.

Kyle sat down next to the Weasley brothers and asked curiously, "Did you choose Divination?"

"Divination and Care of Magical Creatures." Fred said, "Divination is definitely worth taking. Charlie told us it's easy to get high marks, and the class is pretty relaxed."

"As long as you make your predictions sound terrible when Professor Trelawney asks, you can do whatever you want in class." George said, "I recommend you take Divination next year too. It's a blessing for students."

"I'll definitely consider it." Kyle looked at the two of them, hesitated for a moment, then suddenly said, "If possible, I suggest you also take Ancient Runes."

"Why do you say that?" Fred asked with confusion, "I heard that class is very difficult."

"Extremely difficult, I'd say." George frowned, "During the holiday, Percy spent more than half his time studying it."

"That's true." Kyle nodded, "But don't you want to open a joke shop? Ancient Runes is very helpful for alchemy."

Alchemy?

Fred and George exchanged glances, beginning to understand his point.

Those joke products were also a form of alchemical items. If that was the case, then Ancient Runes would indeed be useful for them.

"Kyle, why are you only telling us this important information now?" George said, scratching his head.

Course selection was already over. If they wanted to take Ancient Runes now, they would have to apply to Professor McGonagall to add another course.

Three electives would undoubtedly take up a lot of time. If they really went to McGonagall to apply, they wouldn't have time for the things they enjoyed.

But opening their own joke shop had always been their dream. If Ancient Runes was truly helpful for alchemy, they couldn't give it up.

The two immediately found themselves in a dilemma.

"What if we talk to Professor McGonagall about it?" After thinking for a moment, George tentatively asked, "Do you think she would agree to let us switch from Care of Magical Creatures to Ancient Runes?"
