His Breeding Obsession

Chapter 110

The imperial palace of the old Leanna Empire was usually quiet, but today, as if the clouds had parted, a bright aura spread like smoke.

The reason for this was the joyful faces of those who roamed the palace.

Most of them, almost all of them, were half-breeds.

There were the occasional half-breeds between beasts and humans, but not many.

The guards, in particular, were often wolves, even though they looked like humans on the outside, they reverted to their true form when they transformed.

The third floor, where the High Lord’s chambers were located, was quieter and more guarded than the others.

Servants shuffled past the sharp-eyed wolf beast every so regularly.

Spider beast men and Zoin were the dominant races among the servants.

Known for their delicate touch, they, like most of the beasts, had embraced the new age with relish.

As they made their way downstairs, their lips twitched nervously as they moved away from the wolves.

“My master seems to be in a good mood today.”

Master, or High Lord.

The word spat out by the beasts referred to a single being.

The leader of the wolf clan, who single-handedly overthrew the old system and created the present.

Though nervous and afraid of being seen, few beasts would say they wanted things to go back to the way they were.

How else could they compare the old days to the present, when they could occupy human territory and not have to worry about being discovered?

Many were content to roam comfortably across two continents that were once so full of humans that it was difficult to set foot on them.

“Maybe it was because of that woman?”

A servant who had inherited the traits of a spider from generation to generation, but whose bloodline was weak enough to make him look almost human, spoke up in a low voice.

 “Who?”

The servant, whose lips jutted out like a beak, also lowered his voice.

“Why, that woman in Crystal’s room.” “Oh, the woman who is still laying on the bed? I heard she’s not a real woman, but a doll.” “What? What are you talking about? It’s a woman.” “You mean a living woman?” “Yes! She’s just not waking up because she’s sick, and the rumors about her being a corpse or a doll are nonsense.” “Hmm, she can’t be human, can she?”

The servants’ expressions became strange.

It was a well-known fact that the High Lords disliked humans.

Indifferent to most things, the High lord’s most violent reactions were when humans, bats, and the long-estranged dark race were involved.

Few would believe him if he suddenly brought a human woman with him.

 “I don’t know. I don’t think so.”

The spider shook his head in disbelief.

At first glance, it didn’t look like she had any beast traits, but it was hard to tell, as some fully transformed beasts could look like normal humans.

“In any case, it’s the first time I’ve seen Master like that.” “Like that?” “What… a pleasant one? I’m not sure, but maybe. He didn’t seem to be in a bad mood.” “So you think it’s because of her, the woman in the crystal room.” “Why wouldn’t it be? It’s like, you know, all the tension is gone.”

The truth was, he didn’t know much, being a lowly servant who pretended to be knowledgeable, but whenever he saw his master, his head bowed like a leaf at the sight of him, he didn’t know much.

Fearing that his lack of information would be exposed, the beast quickened his pace.

“Come on, let’s go. We’ll get in trouble with Lord Hakan.”

The Zoin servant, who had many more questions he wanted to ask, trotted after him with a rueful look on his face.

The Crystal Chamber has been the center of attention in the Imperial Palace.

However, the area around the room was silent, as if it had nothing to do with the chatter outside.

 “…” “…”

Two men stood guard in front of the door. Burly bodies and piercing glares.

They were the wolf warriors responsible for the High Lord’s protection.

Fiercely loyal, they rarely let their minds wander, but today they seemed to be lost in thought.

‘What the hell is going on?’

Two hours ago, the chief had walked into the room.

At this point, even the loyal warriors, who are all about doing their jobs, were wondering what he was doing inside.

While the rumors floating around were unreliable, they had relatively easy access to the rumor mongering and had some pretty accurate information.

‘He suddenly disappeared silently, startling me, and then he brought a woman with him… and he’s acting like he’s never been before, and it’s getting on my nerves.’

When the warrior realized it was actually a woman in his arms, he doubted his eyes.

A woman was the last thing he wanted to associate with a leader whose sole purpose was slaughter and destruction.

He wondered if there was some other purpose, but the presence of a woman in the room hadn’t changed anything.

One thing that has changed was spending almost all the time in this room.

‘That’s the biggest change, actually.’

The warrior was curious, and frustrated that he couldn’t figure it out.

The most powerful leader he’d ever known was not one he felt comfortable with.

It was blasphemous, but he didn’t think the Chief cared for anything in this world, not even his clan.

‘Who is she?’

The question naturally turned to the woman he was carrying.

The woman’s eyes were closed, as if she had lost consciousness, and her pale skin looked as if she hadn’t seen sunlight in a long time.

The warrior blinked as he recalled the moment in a daze.

‘She was beautiful.’

Of all the beautiful women he had ever seen, she was the most, mysteriously beautiful.

The warrior stiffened, suddenly realizing that it was her, and not his leader’s sudden behavior, that had him so lost in thought.

‘It’s never good to go any further than this, so let’s stay out of the way. Especially if it’s the chief’s woman.’

The warrior quickly cleared his mind of all thoughts and focused on keeping a watchful eye on his surroundings.

He had no idea who she was.

As a young warrior with little experience, he knew nothing of the old world of a hundred years ago.

The older clan members, the elders, were all on the mainland, so he couldn’t ask them.

Of course, he wasn’t the only one who couldn’t guess the woman’s identity.

There were few people in the present age on the second continent who could figure out her identity.

This era was a time of order in a world in turmoil after decades of chaos.

High Lord Grecan’s endless rage and subsequent meltdown was also a time of intense emotional turmoil for him.

A few days ago, in the throes of endless loss and chest pain, he had stopped moving.

Strangely enough, he suddenly felt her scent. A scent he’d never forgotten, not even in his dreams.

He moved, as if mesmerized, and slipped out of the castle.

 — ‘Where are you going, High Lord?’

 — ‘Do not follow, or I will kill you.’

Leaving the frozen warriors behind, Grecan walked alone. Nothing stood in his way as he walked silently down the path.

Instead of stopping him, all those who caught sight of him ducked their heads in horror as if their bellies were on fire.

Some worshiped, some cowered in terror, but Grecan walked and kept at it.

His steps led him to the Plains of Razhul, the place where Hell began.
