HI3: I Don't Want to Be a Valkyrie

Chapter 88: Chapter 36: I Choose Them All

In the sky, a fierce black dragon soared swiftly through the air. Perched atop its head was a white-haired young maiden with twin ponytails framing her face. A red barrier enveloped her, shielding against the wind generated by their rapid flight.

With hands crossed over her chest, she gazed forward pensively, her thoughts lost in the distance. Her long white hair streamed behind her like twin tails, adding to the ethereal aura that surrounded this enigmatic figure. What mysteries did she ponder amidst such grandeur? Only time would reveal the depths of her contemplation.

"Inky," the young maiden finally couldn't contain her curiosity any longer as she asked, "How much longer until we reach the great forest?"

"Master," replied the black dragon promptly, "at our current pace, it will take approximately two hours to arrive at your destination."

"Oh..." The girl sighed softly upon hearing this and leaned against the dragon's head.

This was Theresa once again, having transformed back into her Luna Kindred form after her time as Gyakushinn Miko had expired.

The existence of both Gyakushinn Miko and Higokumaru lasted only twenty-four hours. After that period elapsed, Yae Sakura reverted to Theresa, with Higokumaru disappearing without a trace.

In her renewed state as Luna Kindred, Theresa established some followers within the Great Kara Forest while proclaiming herself as "Princess Theresa of the Vampires."

After waiting for an entire day, when the black dragon came to fetch her, Theresa mounted its back and set off on their return journey.

"Oh right, Inky," Theresa suddenly asked with curiosity, "I don't even know your gender yet. Are you a female or male dragon?"

The black dragon fell utterly silent at her question.

"Come on, tell me..." Theresa gently patted its scaled hide.

"Female..."

"A female dragon, huh?" Theresa's eyes twinkled mischievously. "Can you transform into human form?"

"No..." After a moment of silence, the black dragon replied helplessly.

"That's such a pity."

"..." Pity for what?

Main Quest: Tremendous Fame (Completed)

"Huh? The main quest is already done?" Theresa, who had been lying on the dragon's head, immediately sat up upon hearing the System's announcement.

But I didn't do anything special! she thought. I just left some familiars around, told them my name and title, mentioned it when completing requests, and established my own little kingdom.

Is that really enough to complete the task?

Theresa had imagined she'd have to become a Demon Lord, maybe even kidnap a few princesses from different countries before this quest would be considered finished.

Well, either way was fine with her. She promptly claimed her rewards.

300 crystals, five months of Luna Kindred character fragments, and some experience chips...

She then checked her crystal count again. The stingy System usually only offered better rewards for main quests and bounty missions; mission rewards were typically meager in terms of crystals. So now her total stood at...

Just over two thousand—specifically, 2,300 or so—and that was solely because she'd previously saved about 1,500 crystals.

"After completing a few more tasks, I'll have enough crystals for the transmigration fee, but it's basically impossible to upgrade Luna Kindred to SSS rank."

Wait, that's not entirely true, I realized. I don't necessarily need to obtain all the fragments in this world alone; new worlds should work too.

After all, I had already managed to gather shards of both Luna Kindred and Molotov Cherry.

Still, I needed to hurry up and finish the remaining bounty quests. The main objectives left were acquiring the Demon Lord's blood and establishing the Monster Kingdom.

The latter shouldn't take long—just a matter of months at most. No need to rush that one.

The real challenge was obtaining the Demon Lord's blood.

Here, being an awakened Demon Lord wasn't strictly necessary; even a demon king would suffice.

Excluding Rimuru, finding three demon kings wouldn't be too difficult. Among the younger generation (the Ten Great Demon Lords), or perhaps even... the Orc Demon King, if worse came to worst... Milim, though powerful, could still be handled with sugar as well.

"That system... Don't let my 12-year-old appearance fool you; I'm actually already an adult, so..."

"Can I choose all of them?" Theresa was astounded by the final main quest.

It was surprisingly generous, especially the third option—after spending so much on Brother Da Wei's virtual currency, this was the first time she'd seen him be so magnanimous.

6,480 crystals... That's a single transaction worth 640.

Regardless of whether it was Brother Da Wei's red packet, the monthly pass, or the chance to travel freely between worlds, Theresa wanted it all.

Moreover, although the tasks seemed daunting at first glance, upon closer consideration, they weren't as challenging as they appeared.

A-310 is legally recognized as a child, while A-872 has not yet reached adulthood, so...

Please make your selection.

"You..." Theresa was speechless. Aren't we both "Theresa"? Do you really need to be that meticulous?

"No way. Back in the Inuyasha world, I had no choice, but now I want everything."

Children should stick to single-choice questions; only adults can choose all options. If the host doesn't make a decision soon, the system will default to Option 1.

"Wait... Wait, fine! I'll take Option 3."

With no other choice, Theresa hastily selected Option 3.

Quest successfully chosen.

"Master, we've arrived..." The black dragon informed Theresa upon reaching the goblin village.

Though still called a village, it had already grown into a small town and was rapidly expanding towards becoming a modern city.

"We're finally here."

Theresa hopped off the dragon's head, noticing that there seemed to be very few people around.

As she wandered through the settlement, not only did she fail to find Rimuru, but even Shion and Benimaru were nowhere in sight.

Spotting Rigurd, now evolved into a Goblin King, standing nearby, Theresa hurried over on her short legs.

"Rigurd!"

She reached him quickly, calling out his name.

"Oh, Lady Theresa! It's been just a few days, but where have you been?" Rigurd greeted her with a warm smile.

"I went out to take care of some business. Where are Rimuru and the others?"

"There's this Orc Diaster leading nearly two hundred thousand orc minions trying to devour the entire Great Jura Forest. The lizardfolk princess came seeking help earlier, so Lord Rimuru took Shion, Benimaru, and a few others to assist their tribe."

Hearing this news, Theresa's expression shifted dramatically as she turned to the black dragon. "Inky, take me to the lizardfolk tribe immediately."

PS: I'm sorry! I know this volume hasn't been up to par, especially towards the end. For some reason, I've been stuck without inspiration; everything here was just squeezed out.

I'll have to wrap up this volume as soon as possible—there are probably about 10 chapters left.

A heartfelt thank you to all the amazing readers who've stayed subscribed up until now—I can't express my gratitude enough...

Also, if you haven't already, check out Her Highness Doesn't Want to Be Overpowered by Players—it's great!

(TL Note: It seems to be another untranslated novel out there. Not too sure about it tho. Its called 公主殿下不想被玩家推倒 in chinese if you want to find it.)
