Having ‘Fun’ in this Room

Chapter 2: Chapter 02 — Trapped in the Room with Lisa 02

Lisa stepped back from the door, a slight frown on her face. "Hm, I can't open it." She glanced at Perjaka, frustration evident in her eyes. "It seems we're locked in here."

Perjaka nodded, looking around the room once more. "Let's try to find another way out or at least understand why we're here," he suggested, and then finally moved closer to Lisa, hoping to collaborate in their search.

Lisa didn't react to Perjaka coming closer. After their small conversation, she realized just how weak Perjaka was compared to her. His cautious demeanor highlighted his awareness of Lisa's power as a Vision user, and she didn't feel any sense of threat or power emanating from him. His body, movements, and demeanor also didn't suggest someone with martial arts experience, reinforcing her impression of him as an ordinary, non-combatant individual.

Since the door didn't work, Perjaka's mind drifted to the most suspicious thing in the room: the iPad. "If the door is locked, the only thing left that seems out of place is this iPad," he remarked, looking at the device in Lisa's hands.

Lisa nodded in agreement, studying the iPad closely. "Let's see if there's anything unusual or any clues hidden within it," she suggested, her curiosity piqued by the mysterious device.

As Perjaka observed the iPad, he could see there was nothing on the screen. There were no apps or anything, just a typical default picture on the iPad. "Hm, can you swipe the screen?" Perjaka asked Lisa. She followed his request, but the screen didn't move at all. It was as if the device was frozen or locked in some way.

"This doesn't make sense," Lisa muttered, her frustration growing. She tried tapping different parts of the screen and pressing the buttons on the iPad, but nothing happened. It remained stubbornly unresponsive.

Perjaka sighed, rubbing his temples. As Perjaka watched what Lisa did with the iPad, he realized that the only thing they still hadn't tried was him touching the iPad himself. Taking a deep breath, he reached out and gently took the iPad from Lisa's hands. The moment his fingers brushed the screen, it made a sound like a notification, and something written slowly began to appear on the screen.

Lisa's eyes widened in surprise. "Looks like it needed your touch to activate," she remarked, her voice filled with curiosity. "Let's see what this is all about."

The message on the screen was unexpected and bizarre:

[You two can't leave this place until after holding hands for ten minutes.]

Perjaka and Lisa exchanged puzzled glances, both finding the instruction utterly absurd. The message appeared in text from both Earth and Teyvat, making it clear that their captor, whoever or whatever it was, had knowledge of both worlds.

Perjaka chuckled nervously, "This has to be some kind of joke, right? Holding hands for ten minutes?"

To be honest, Perjaka found the situation somewhat familiar, like something out of an escape room. It reminded him of a trend that had occurred in the real world a few years ago. Some ecchi manga artists had created short stories about male and female couples trapped in a room, unable to leave without following the room's instructions. These instructions often involved perverted tasks.

It was like a debauched parody of the movie "Saw."

Because of this, Perjaka couldn't bring himself to tell Lisa about it.

"Ara... So you're saying we can only get out of this place as long as we follow the orders of this text?" Lisa spoke while staring at Perjaka with a sharp and judgmental gaze.

"Well, Lisa," Perjaka began, his voice steady but urgent. "I think this room is somehow connected to my powers. The iPad reacted to my touch, and it seems like whatever's controlling this place is responding to me."

"That's right," Lisa agreed, nodding thoughtfully.

Perjaka sighed, feeling a bit sheepish. "Ahaha, if this room exists because of me, it's likely—or it can be said—that the instructions in this iPad could be based on my own preferences," he admitted honestly, feeling a flush of embarrassment. He tried to avoid meeting Lisa's gaze as he spoke.

Lisa raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Your own preferences, huh?" she said thoughtfully. "So that's why the requirement is something like this."

Perjaka chuckled nervously. "Well, I'm sorry. It's inevitable since I suddenly met an alluring woman like you," he continued, trying to explain himself. "Even if this domain door happened because of me, it's the first time I've experienced this, so I can't control it. Although I'm not sure you will believe me," he finished, feeling embarrassed but sincere in his explanation.

"Ara... I might feel a bit flattered if we weren't in such a predicament. Hm... Is there truly nothing you can do to change this?" Lisa remarked, her tone a mix of curiosity and mild amusement.

"I wonder... I can honestly say that I'm usually straightforward in every situation. If this room is truly a manifestation of my power, I might be able to change the requirement," Perjaka responded thoughtfully.

Perjaka took a deep breath and touched the iPad, willing it to make the door open. He focused intensely, hoping that his powers could alter the situation. However, despite his efforts, the door remained firmly shut.

He sighed in frustration. "It seems my powers aren't enough to change this requirement," he admitted, looking at Lisa with a mix of disappointment and determination. "We might have to follow the instructions after all."

Before Perjaka could say another word, he turned his head towards Lisa and saw the woman with brown hair and green eyes leaping towards him. Caught completely off guard, Perjaka couldn't react in time. Lisa effortlessly knocked him down, her movements quick and precise, leaving him no chance to resist. She swiftly grabbed both of Perjaka's hands and held them behind his back, forcing his body to lie face down on the floor.

"What are you doing?" Perjaka asked Lisa, his voice filled with confusion and surprise.

"Ara... ara... although I'm basically okay with holding hands for ten minutes, I can't just trust it blindly. So let's try it this way—we can technically say we're holding hands, right?" Lisa spoke with reasonable logic, a hint of amusement in her voice.

Honestly, this was very different from what Perjaka had imagined. Lisa, in Genshin Impact, is typically a gentle onee-san type who only shows fierceness when people don't return books. Then again, her response made sense considering her ruthlessness in such matters. Even though they shared a good vibe for a moment, Perjaka was still a stranger and a suspicious person to her, after all.

"Oh, that's true too. But I would be happier if the mood were more romantic..." Perjaka muttered, feeling a bit like a captured criminal for the first time in his life. With his hands restrained and Lisa's knees pressing into his back, he couldn't help but complain a little.

The situation was both uncomfortable and surreal, leaving him to wish for a more pleasant scenario where they could be closer in a less awkward manner.

"Ah, it looks like the countdown has started," Lisa remarked, glancing at the iPad that had fallen to the floor.

Although Perjaka felt that he had received an unfavorable reception for reasons beyond his control, he couldn't help but think it was very unfair. It was nothing like the various fanfic stories he knew, where most OC protagonists received a much warmer reception. At the same time, he understood why Lisa was acting this way.

Well, in the end, I'm not the traveler, Perjaka thought to himself.

While Lisa's gaze remained fixed on the iPad as she watched the countdown tick away.
