Harry Potter: Don't Touch the Badger's Plants

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Beating Up the Troll, Goldfish Vine Anomaly

After Hermione's explanation, the little badgers all breathed a sigh of relief.

"I knew it."

"The Weasley twins are both big liars."

"Even at a time like this, they're still trying to scare us."

"Fortunately, Hermione told us the truth. So we're safe now?"

The little badgers sat down one by one, still shaken.

Only Ciel suddenly sprang up from the sofa like he had springs attached. Then, without saying a word, he tucked away his wand and pulled out his Quidditch practice bat. He strode purposefully toward the exit of the common room.

Hermione and the little badgers watched him in shock.

"Ciel?"

"There's a troll outside, it's dangerous!"

"What are you going out for at this time?"

Ciel gritted his teeth. He really didn't want to take risks. He didn't want to get involved in any trouble either. He could tolerate anything. But the one thing he couldn't tolerate was his crops being threatened.

"My plants!"

Instantly, Ciel disappeared from everyone's sight and arrived outside the common room. His thoughts raced rapidly. He remembered the original story mentioning that when Quirrell burst into the Great Hall, he screamed that the troll had appeared near the dungeons.

But in reality, Quirrell should have deliberately misdirected the location to buy himself more time to steal the Philosopher's Stone. The real location of the troll incident was on the floor with the girls' bathroom on the castle's first floor.

Ciel's heart suddenly tightened. The first floor of the castle had the most confusing staircases. And the Goldfish Vines he had planted there accounted for almost half of this batch.

If they were eaten by the troll...

Just thinking of this possibility, the force bursting from Ciel's palm made his bat emit a terrifying creaking sound. The floor tiles under his feet also made sounds of being unable to bear the weight. Fine cracks spread from his footsteps.

He charged toward the first floor like a rushing tank.

At this time, Ciel also began to smell the foul stench appearing in the air. It was like more than ten full public toilets fermenting for an entire week in summer! On the ground, he could also see muddy, dirty footprints. The direction of the footprints was exactly toward the staircase where Ciel had planted Goldfish Vines.

Seeing this, Ciel quickened his pace even more.

When he arrived, what appeared before him was a monster figure twelve feet tall, with granite-like skin, gripping a thick wooden club. The troll's other hand was holding a pot of completely orange-red, mature Goldfish Vine.

Ciel took a deep breath and let out a roar. "Let go!"

However, with the troll's intelligence, it couldn't understand Ciel's words at all. Moreover, the Goldfish Vine in front of it was emitting a fatal attraction for trolls.

The next moment, with a slurping sound, the troll swallowed the entire pot along with the Goldfish Vine. It even smacked its lips, as if it hadn't tasted much. It reached for another pot with a few green leaves of Goldfish Vine and picked it up.

Only then did Ciel notice that the Goldfish Vines planted on the first floor had decreased by a full third. As for where they went, that was naturally obvious.

In this instant, Ciel's world collapsed. He gripped his bat tightly, veins bulging on his arms.

"I'm just a peaceful little badger. I just want to grow some plants. Why do you have to harm my Goldfish Vines? You're asking for death!"

The troll before him momentarily overlapped with memories from his previous life of people who had damaged his experimental crops. His rage instantly soared to the limit.

Along with it came an enlightenment. Under his angry emotions, Ciel finally understood what changes the Gold-Tier Pruning Charm had undergone under the influence of Sectumsempra.

He waved his wand and growled: "Arbor Siccus!"

Invisible magical power shot out. In an instant, it carved cracks on the thick wooden club in the troll's hand. The club immediately became precarious.

This wasn't the end. From the cracks in the club, clusters of thorns then grew, spreading toward the troll's palm. The troll was pricked by the thorns on its palm. Although its skin couldn't be pierced, it could obviously still feel it.

It was startled. Unable to understand how its weapon had suddenly become prickly, it instinctively dropped the club, which fell to the ground with a thud.

Ciel's expression was cold. Before this, he had tried for a long time but couldn't figure out what the mysterious property of the advanced Pruning Charm was. Now he finally understood.

Under the catalyst of angry emotions, the Pruning Charm could make thorns grow on trimmed objects to prick enemies. Perhaps it was precisely because Sectumsempra was an attack-type dark magic that it caused the Pruning Charm to have this aggressive change after advancement.

Ciel should have felt happy. But now, looking at those pots of disappeared Goldfish Vines, he just kept waving his wand.

"Arbor Siccus!"

"Arbor Siccus!"

Pruning Charms burst forth one after another, cutting the troll's club into pieces. Then clusters of thorns grew from the wood pieces, causing the troll to stagger backward in confusion, unable to find footing.

Just as the troll staggered backward with all its attention drawn to the thorns, Ciel's figure suddenly burst out from the thorn bushes. The bat infused with legendary strength whistled as it swung, striking the troll's thick leg.

The troll originally didn't pay much attention to a small ant like Ciel. Even when Ciel swung the bat at it, in its view, what impact could such a small thing have on its strong body?

But the next moment, the troll felt like it had been hit by a rammed by a Erumpent. The leg struck by the bat suddenly went lame. Its body also fell directly onto the floor.

Ciel gritted his teeth and continued swinging the bat, pummeling the troll.

"I'll teach you to eat!"

"I'll teach you to eat!"

"You can do anything else, but why did you have to eat my plants!"

"Die!"

The bat swung like a violent storm. The troll had completely lost the ability to fight back. It cowered on the ground, holding its head. Its small brain had completely learned one lesson: "Young wizard. Eat plants. Rage. Terrifying!"

Just then, dense, urgent footsteps came from the staircase. Professor Sprout, pale-faced, was the first to rush out from the staircase.

"Ciel!"

After receiving news that Ciel had run to find the troll, her heart nearly jumped out of her chest. If Ciel had any mishap in front of the troll, she felt she would go completely mad.

Seeing Ciel panting, holding a bat, with what looked like blood on him, Professor Sprout screamed and rushed over to hug him.

"Child! Merlin above, it's so good that you're alright. Quick, let me see if you're hurt anywhere. Poor child, you must have been terrified. Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, the troll will never hurt you again."

Just then, Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, Professor Snape, and others who had followed Professor Sprout all the way here looked at the troll before them and fell into an eerie silence.

The troll was covered in injuries from being beaten. Its small eyes held big tears. Full of fear, it looked at them like seeing saviors.

Professor Flitwick spoke hoarsely: "Pomona, I think Ciel should be fine."

After a moment of silence, Snape nodded and added: "It seems the troll is the one with problems. Although I'm not very proficient in healing magic, I can see with my eyes that it has several broken bones."

At this time, the pot of Goldfish Vine that the troll hadn't had time to eat rolled down, attracting everyone's attention. The professors' expressions suddenly tensed.

Professor McGonagall shouted: "Be careful! Goldfish Vines have fatal attraction for trolls. Watch out for it attacking!"

But the next moment, looking at this pot of Goldfish Vine, the troll immediately hugged its head tightly. Its eyes showed fear as it cowered away from the plant. It even mumbled incoherently: "No eat. Get beaten!"

The atmosphere suddenly became somewhat frozen. The professors looked at each other, suddenly seeming to understand something. Looking at the troll blood staining Ciel's bat and the floor tiles shattered by that terrifying force, several professors gulped and quietly stepped back a few paces.

Just then, Ciel looked at that pot of Goldfish Vine, his eyes suddenly showing surprise and doubt. This pot of Goldfish Vine originally still had a few green leaves. It was still some time away from maturity.

But now, after being held by the troll for a while, those few leaves had completely turned red!
