Chapter 10: Ch:10 The potion genius
Orion first lit the phoenix feather on fire with a simple fire charm and let it burn to ash. He then mixed the ash with the vampire ash.
When the water started to boil he threw the ash mix inside the cauldron.
The water immediately turned pitch black. He waited until the water slowly turned red and stirred 7 times counterclockwise and 3 times clockwise.
The potion stayed in a very dark red but became thicker.
After the stirring Orion lowered the heat and waited until the temperature was lower until he added the eye of the troll.
The eye slowly got dissolved like in acid and the potion started to emmit a dark smoke.
Snape seeing the process didn't intervene as he felt the stable process of the mysterious potion that is being brewed. Even he didn't recognise whatever potion this guy was brewing. He watched with gleaming eyes unable to hide his interest.
Orion then added the dragon blood. The potion stopped to emmit the dark smoke and turned blood red with golden particles. Carefully watching the potion he then slowly turned the heat higher and watched as the potion slowly turned golden.
He then turned off the fire and let it cool down.
When it cooled down he started to bottle it and gave it to professor Snape.
"I present you the potion, Auroras essence. This potion can dispel most effects of dark magic and heal every wound no matrer how fatal it is" Orion said and gave the potion to Snape.
Snape just stared at the potion in pure fascination. He then collected himself and barked "class is cancelled for today, Mr. Green please stay behind".
Snape waited until all students left and then looked at Orion.
"How did you know of this potion? The recipe of this potion was lost for over hundreds of years. Even now experts are constantly trying to recreate it" Snape said.
"Well seems like I suceeded first doesn't it?" Orion just answered with a proud grin then his face turned serious.
"If you want to know how exactly you will have to sign a magical contract to swear absolute secrency about anything you hear from me today" he said and gave professor Snape an enchanted paper and a blood quill.
Snape after a long time of silently staring at the paper he picked up the quill and signed his name.
Snape frustratedly sighed and said "Curiosity killed the cat no? Let's hear it"
"I created it from scratch and lots of experiments. At first I saw the research papers about this potion and the solution seemed easy. You see in muggle science there is a field called chemistry. It would be to difficult to explain something like that. Anyways it took me a while to recreate a system like the muggle chemistry for every magical substance. With this system it is as easy as breathing to recreate old potions or even invent new ones" Orion just said. Of course this System wasn't from him but from Merlin himself. He had found a few grimoires from Merlin in his stored book-collection and seeing the name Merlin on the books he of course studied throughly.
Snape was baffled by this and asked "can you teach me?"
Orion just looked at him and then said "no, but I can give you books that can teach you. But before that you have to sign another magical contract with three conditions.
First, you don't steal my credit and publish the things you learned for your own profit without mentioning me as partner.
Second, you will assess my inventions and help me publish a reseach paper about them and patent the potions on my name.
Third, teach me the flying spell the death eaters use" Orion said and added "no bargain, either you take it or I search for someone different"
Snape just stared at him and asked "how would I know how the death eaters fly?"
Orion just looked at him very annoyed "I am a seer. I see the future...in my dreams"
Snape really didn't know if the boy in front of him was joking or not. He then stared at him with narrowed eyes.
"Who are you? I don't believe that you are a muggleborn"
"You are right, I'm not. Let me reintroduce myself, I am Orion LeFay Pendragon the descendant of Athur Pendragon and Morgana LeFay" he said.
Snape now really thought this boy was messing with him " this line is extinct since over 1000 years..." but he shut up when he saw the heir rings that Orion had willed to appear.
"I know this is a bit overwhelming but you'll get there" Orion said amused by the baffled expression Snape made.
Snape then stared at the contract inside the hands of Orion, the one he already signed earlier. Because of this contract he couldn't even tell Dumbledore about this underdog inside Slytherin.
In the end he said through gritted teeth "you played your cards good Mr. Green".
But in the end there was nothing he could do about it.
In the end his greed over this incredible knowlege this boy held took over and he also signed the second contract.
Orio then handed him a series of muggle chemistry shoolbooks with workbooks to practice. They ranged from the most basic ones to the most advanced ones.
"When you have understood everything I will teach you the magical verion of it" Orion said.
Snape just nooded and said "You can come to me every thursday from 6 pm to 9 pm and on Sundays from 3pm to 9pm. I can help you in whatever you want to learn first. Advice in potions if you even need any, help in the writing of research papers or teaching of the flying spell"
"Good anything else?" Orion asked "because I have history of magic in 5 minutes".
"No you can go" Snape said and Orion stood up.
Orion then remembered something and turned back to professor Snape.
"Professor?" Orion said.
"Anything else?"
"You still have my money" Orion said.
An ankward silence spread in the room until Snape chuckled nervously.
"Haha, my bad" he said and gave Orion the money back who immediately put the money together with the magical contracts inside his heir ring.
He then smiled innocently at Snape and said "I look forward to your teaching" and left the classroom.
Snape just sat there stunned at what just happened. When he finally woke up from his trance his first thought was to immediately tell everything to Dumbledore but he felt the invisible chains of the contract appear and tighten.
He had no choice but to discard that option.
No, this time he was played. By a very cunning eleven-year old Slytherin.
He then looked at the golden potion in his hands and felt the magical radiance comming from it. Even he felt that this potion was extraordinary, something even he himself couldn't brew in this purity.
This potion was beyond perfect, it was a work of art. In his admiration for the potion he didn't notice how the classroom slowly filled itself with new students.
He didn't notice until the murmurs of the students got too loud and woke him up from his trance.
'Ah right, the next class were the third-years' Snape remembered and glanced to the source of his headache 'first this brat who outsmarted me, the head of Slytherin and now some evil God even sent me the Weasley twins. Today really isn't my day' he thought internally and with a sigh he bagan his next lecture.
