Harem With Venom In Marvel/Dc

Chapter 177: Chapter 175 – The Holy Spirit

Pamela pushed a tray of roasted chicken toward Hulu.

"Eat up."

Hulu glanced at his father, and upon receiving his nod of approval, eagerly picked up the roast chicken and started eating.

"Father, Mother, it's delicious—you should eat too!"

His mouth stuffed with chicken, Hulu spoke in a muffled voice.

Black Adam and Aya also began to eat. At first, they were a little restrained, but soon found themselves indulging in the feast.

Kino smiled faintly, sipping on a soda as he watched the distant battle unfold.

Harley and Diana were locked in a fierce fight.

Flames burned intensely on Harley's body. Every attack she launched carried searing heat. She dodged Diana's attacks when she could, and when she couldn't, she took the hits in exchange for landing her own.

Diana, on the other hand, relied on her agile movements and her resilient shield to neutralize Harley's attacks again and again.

Though the Bracelets of Submission possessed immense power, their range was ultimately limited—unable to effectively restrain someone as quick as Harley.

As a result, while Diana hadn't sustained any serious injuries, a portion of her beautiful hair had unfortunately been scorched.

"Damn demon!" Diana cursed angrily. For any woman, their hair is among their most cherished features.

Now that it had been burned like this, how could she not be furious?

Harley, instead of showing any fear, burst into wild laughter upon hearing this.

"Hahaha! I'm going to turn that pretty head of yours into a shiny bald dome!"

With that, she continued releasing waves of overwhelming flames, relentlessly chasing Diana, forcing her to retreat in all directions.

"Kino, who do you think will win?" Venom asked as he gnawed on a drumstick, his mouth dripping with grease.

"Diana," Kino replied with certainty. "Don't be fooled by the brat having the upper hand—Diana is waiting for the perfect opportunity to finish it in one strike."

He wiped the grease from Venom's chin as he spoke.

"…Harley's getting too cocky," Pamela muttered, frowning as she watched the laughing Harley. "She needs to suffer a bit."

"She needs to learn that battles aren't won by recklessness alone."

On the battlefield, Harley's laughter grew increasingly wild. "Hahaha! Is that all you've got, b*tch?"

Diana's expression was cold and composed. Sword and shield in hand, she ignored Harley's taunts, calmly observing her opponent's flaws.

Her peripheral vision occasionally swept toward Kino's direction. She recognized him—the mysterious man who had appeared in the Batcave. They'd never been able to track him afterward. His presence here now… Could he be involved in this incident too?

On the other side, Black Adam put down his food with a serious expression.

"Leader, I'd like to ask—what did you mean when you said Shazam was a tool?"

Hulu also looked up curiously, eyes wide and unblinking as he gazed at Kino.

"Shazam's power originates from gods," Kino said slowly, his voice calm. "And the gods' power comes from human faith."

"A long time ago, gods ruled the world. Back then, humans were nothing more than servants—whose sole purpose was to please the gods."

"If the gods were dissatisfied in any way, they would unleash natural disasters, ruling through fear to harvest belief."

"Later, due to a certain pact, gods and demons were no longer allowed to operate freely in the human world. But the gods still craved the faith from this land. So they devised a method to continue harvesting that belief."

"That method was—Shazam!"

Black Adam touched the lightning bolt on his chest, a bitter smile playing on his lips.

"If it's about faith, I'm willing to believe in the gods who gave me power. I'd even build temples in their name. So why is Shazam a tool, as you say? Isn't this power supposed to represent freedom?"

Hulu asked boldly, his clear eyes filled with deep confusion.

"Hulu!"

Black Adam shouted in shock and anger.

"Leader, please forgive my child," Aya pleaded hastily, her face pale.

Both Aya and Black Adam were stunned by Hulu's audacity.

Openly questioning the leader's words could bring serious consequences—they knew this well.

"It's fine. Hulu, come here," Kino beckoned him gently, smiling warmly.

Aya tried to stand up, but Black Adam pulled her into his embrace.

"Hulu, go," he said softly.

"Yes, Father."

Black Adam wanted to stop him, but the contract embedded in his heart compelled him to obey the leader. All he could do was clench his fists silently.

Kino looked at Hulu, who stood before him without a trace of fear.

A pure soul.

Possesses purity.

Steadfast courage.

Kind-hearted nature.

Willingness to share.

The last person with these qualities was Jesus.

No one could dislike such a person. But such people rarely had good fates.

Kino slowly reached out and patted Hulu's head.

"Hulu, were you born bald?"

"Yes, Leader. It's easier to clean up after work this way."

Hulu looked up at him, eyes sparkling.

"Well, that's not bad. You look like a naturally bright kid."

"Leader, are you complimenting me?"

"Of course," Kino nodded with a smile.

"Hehe, thank you, Leader!"

Hulu grinned happily, flashing his pearly white teeth.

Black Adam and Aya both let out a sigh of relief. They exchanged glances, their eyes full of comfort.

"Now, back to the story," Kino continued. "The gods weren't willing to give up this source of faith."

"Eventually, humanity could no longer endure the gods' oppression and began to resist."

"So the gods came up with an idea. They broke off a branch from the Tree of Life and handed it to Atlas to forge a divine artifact—the Staff of Life."

"The Staff of Life could grant certain gods divine power, but it could also strip others of their divinity."

"But coincidentally, news of the Staff leaked. The Council of Wizards managed to steal it and used it to rob many gods of their powers. The gods grew fearful and fled."

"Since then, gods have never appeared in this world again."

Hulu fell silent. He was young, but not stupid. Stealing from gods sounded harder than stealing the king's crown from the royal palace.

"Did the wizards know?" he asked.

"Maybe not at first. But later, they must've found out. Maybe they even colluded with the gods."

"Then… why me?" Hulu asked in confusion. "I'm not special. I was just a slave back then. If it weren't for them, I would've already been dead."

"Actually, my earlier words weren't entirely accurate," Kino said. "Shazam itself is not the tool—you carrying Shazam's power are the real tool."

"Me?" Hulu touched his chest in confusion, his expression filled with doubt.

"Yes. In the age of divine rule, someone like you would be second only to the gods—a Holy Spirit, fought over by all the gods."

"The belief inspired by a Holy Spirit is the purest—one equivalent to thousands."

"And once you obtain Shazam's power, you become a faith collector. Every transformation absorbs the ambient faith energy of Earth and transmits it back to the divine realm."

"So you are the tool. Shazam is merely the power designed to protect that tool."

Kino explained slowly, his eyes fixed on Hulu, carefully observing his reaction.
