Things were moving in the background with the man who tried to claim Kyle's life being tortured.

They wanted to extract all the information they could get but there was something this man was more afraid of and it wasn't death.

Alfredo found it suspicious because this man must have known the consequences but what was more worrying was who could do something like this?

"You refuse to talk? I admire that but no man on earth won't break under the right pressure," Alfredo wiped his bloodied hands with a handkerchief.

The man was in no condition to talk, showing Alfredo was doing a good job of keeping him tame.

"I don't wish to hurt you because there is no point to any of this," Alfredo pointed out because there was no way he wouldn't find out this information even if it took a little more time.

Alfredo sighed upon noticing he was unresponsive before handing him something to drink.

The man was dehydrated and beaten to a pulp, he could understand why he wouldn't be cooperative after holding out this long.

This wasn't a job for him and this was why they had called in the man known as the "Butcher" to come and extract the information he couldn't.

"I feel pity for you, friend… For you will soon beg for death but it shall not come," Alfredo said before heading towards the exit.

But before he could leave the room, the man left him with one final sentence.

"Y-You have no idea what true terror is," The man could barely mouth but Alfredo didn't give him a response.

This was getting complicated and Kyle had been dropped right in the middle of something he had no idea was going on.

It was unfortunate but it wasn't something he was worried about because Kyle had shown he was more than capable of defending himself should the situation call for it.

"How did it go?" One of his men asked but Alfredo sighed in frustration because he pitied the man.

"I'm afraid the Butcher will have to handle this," Alfredo revealed and the moment he did, everyone looked visibly worried.

The Butcher was one of those people you were glad he was on your side or he would make a nasty enemy.

Unlike those who were tortured because they had to, the Butcher treated humans like he would cattle.

Anything that bled was a treat for his axe but he had brought it upon himself as Alfredo gave him an out.

Jane and Kyle spoke about Ella but there was no conclusion, if anything, it was left up in the air.

Jane never explicitly said he should but never said he couldn't.

She loved her best friend and knew that any other men out there could potentially hurt her.

And that could make her spiral but there was no way Kyle could do something like that.

She knew he would get other women or even had others so why shouldn't her best friend benefit from this?

This way, they could be together forever but Jane had never given this much thought.

If anything, this was the first time such a thought even crossed her mind because it was up to Ella and Kyle.

But the idea of sharing Kyle with Ella was a lot less upsetting than sharing him with Calista.

And Ella liked Kyle, she respected him more than anyone she had seen or known.

This was something she didn't take for granted but hoped Kyle wouldn't see her differently.

Kyle didn't give her a response either which only increased her anxiety.

Kyle decided to take Jasmine to see her brother in the hospital because this was something that was long overdue.

However, Jane offered to tag along, an offer Kyle didn't object to because he could use the company after such a long day but Cassandra was tagging along too.

She had so many questions but unlike the other girls who would have blurted it out by now.

Cassandra knew better than to do something so impulsive but from the look of things.

This girl wasn't related to Kyle whatsoever and heard pieces of his conversation so that she could draw up her conclusion.

They arrived at the hospital and Kyle expected to see Priscilla and co there at this point because they were a constant sight but they had their hands busy.

Kyle went straight to see the unconscious man in the room but he was doing a lot better because his body was going through a thorough detox.

Kyle knew what was next considering the circumstances but luckily, they had no idea Jasmine was his younger sister otherwise they would have taken her from his care.

And dumped into a foster home, Kyle knew that no system would protect her once she entered there.

And Jasmine had this gleeful approach to life that made her able to withstand the trauma that came with it.

This meant she wouldn't register what was right or wrong should someone do something to her.

Kyle put her in this situation and was going to do everything in his power to grant her the best quality of life he could find for her.

It started with him looking into schools to enroll her in; she didn't exist in the system which made it easier for him to take her under his care without going through an entire process.

Jasmine saw her brother, who was in a sedated state and immediately ran to him to give him a firm hug.

The wounds on his face weren't as bad but the man was coherent enough to know his sister was there.

And the moment he saw her, tears streamed down his cheeks because he thought the worst had happened to her.

The detox was going to be a hard process but this man right here had found renewed hope to keep fighting.

He managed to redirect his gaze at Kyle and could barely recognize him, he was so pumped on drugs that he couldn't think straight.
