Chapter 148: Chapter 148: Legs Trembling
Chen Duo's Room
After entering, Tang Yin and Chen Duo immediately locked lips, moving step by step toward the bed. Upon reaching it, they tumbled down and rolled across the sheets. A fierce battle erupted without delay. Having made love many times before, their bodies instinctively fell into rhythm—thrusting and joining with unrestrained urgency.
Master Bedroom
After resting awhile, Tang Yuehua drifted into sleep, exhausted and sore. Though her first time had been taken by her sister-in-law Ah Yin, she harbored no regrets. She doubted she'd ever seek a man, believing staying with Ah Yin would bring greater happiness.
Ah Yin watched Tang Yuehua sleep, faint sounds from Chen Duo's room reaching her ears. She shook her head with a smile, undisturbed. Instead, she lay down beside Tang Yuehua to rest.
The night passed quietly.
The Next Morning
Tang Yin rose early. To his surprise, he encountered his aunt Tang Yuehua stepping out of the master bedroom. They halted, eyes meeting.
Tang Yin studied his aunt—the woman he'd savored just hours ago—and smiled. "Auntie, did you sleep well?"
Tang Yuehua flushed as waves of last night's pleasure flooded her mind. "Yes, quite well," she replied. As she observed Tang Yin, an odd familiarity struck her. His scent resembled one she'd inhaled during her delirium, but only now, clear-headed, did she sense something amiss.
Unaware, Tang Yin asked casually, "Where's Mother? Hasn't she woken yet?"
"She's already downstairs preparing breakfast—likely in the kitchen. Let's head down."
"Alright."
They started toward the stairs, but after two steps, Tang Yuehua froze. A searing, tearing pain shot through her lower body.
Tang Yin stopped, concerned. "Auntie, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," she insisted, though inwardly frustrated. It wasn't this painful moments ago...
She attempted another step, but agony forced her to clutch the railing, brow furrowed.
Tang Yin understood instantly. Guilt pricked him—he'd been too rough with his aunt last night. He should've been gentler.
"Did you injure your leg? Let me help you down." Though phrased as a question, he'd already taken her arm, guiding her downstairs.
Tang Yuehua considered refusing—she didn't want him knowing why she hurt—but her body obeyed his touch. She let him lead her down.
First Floor, Kitchen
Ah Yin was indeed preparing breakfast. Spotting Tang Yin supporting Tang Yuehua, she arched a brow. After last night's intensity, they're together again? Though Tang Yuehua didn't know Tang Yin was her lover, their closeness felt... peculiar.
Ah Yin dismissed her thoughts and resumed cooking. Soon, Chen Duo joined to help—but walked identically to Tang Yuehua, limping as if injured.
"Duo'er, why aren't you resting?" Tang Yin chided, rushing to support her.
"I wanted to help," Chen Duo murmured shyly.
"You're hurt. Sit. I'll handle this."
He seated her beside Tang Yuehua. Both women winced—their bodies still burned from last night's relentless pounding.
Tang Yuehua studied Chen Duo, suspicion flickering. Why are we both like this?
Chen Duo met her gaze, preempting the question. "I strained my thigh muscles while training last night. My legs won't stop trembling. Sister Yuehua, what happened to you?"
"Oh, I... tripped while walking," Tang Yuehua lied lamely. Chen Duo pretended to believe her.
Legs trembling, the pair chatted at the table while Tang Yin assisted Ah Yin in the kitchen.
Girls' Dormitory
Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing rose early, planning to fetch Xiao Wu for breakfast and class. But at their door, they found Xiao Wu's farewell letter. Panicked, they checked her room—only more letters addressed to Tang Yin, Tang San, and others remained. Xiao Wu was gone.
"Why would she leave?" Ning Rongrong whispered, bewildered.
Zhu Zhuqing shook her head, equally lost. "We must tell Tang Yin."
Xiao Wu's departure instinctively drove them to Tang Yin—the man they trusted most.
Tang Yin's Residence
The girls delivered the news and letters. Tang Yin opened his letter—pages of Xiao Wu's furious curses—and sighed wryly.
"What now?" Zhu Zhuqing pressed.
"It's for the best. Her identity makes staying dangerous."
"Identity?" both girls echoed.
Tang Yin revealed Xiao Wu's secret: she was a 100,000-year soul beast in human form. Their eyes widened in shock.
"Keep this to yourselves. I'll find her in Star Dou Forest soon," he ordered.
They nodded fervently.
Tang Yin then delivered Xiao Wu's letter to Tang San. At the first line, Tang San paled—Xiao Wu had vanished.
