Greek Myth: Zeus Wants Me to Be His/Her (XXXX)?????

Chapter 58: Chapter 58: It Feels So Good Being the Villain

Even now, Poseidon was still probing, still testing.

Eros had no words left for her level of caution.

Here she was, acting so brazenly, yet underneath that boldness, she stayed ever wary.

"Aah, sure. Think of that as my goal if you want," Eros said.

He crouched down, resting a hand on Acheron's head.

"I just wanted to try. If I can't change even this one thing… then what else could I hope to change?"

After all, Amphitrite, Queen of the Sea, she wasn't exactly a key player in Greek mythology.

Her story was little more than a footnote, a name tied to the myth of the Dolphin.

A character so minor, few would even remember she existed if she weren't mentioned outright.

If I can't alter her fate, then what hope would I have against the destinies of those figures history actually cares about?

"But tell me something, have you given any thought to who your Sea Queen should actually be?"

"Hm?"

There was something strange in that question, something Poseidon picked up on right away.

Given the rumors of Eros being a seer, she thought she understood his angle.

Is this it? Did he foresee a future where I choose this Sea Queen, and now he's trying to change it?

"How interesting. So you too want to break your destined path, just like my little sister?"

Little sister?

Wait, Eros froze for a second. As far as he remembered, Poseidon didn't have a little sister.

Hera, Hestia, they were all her older sisters. Where's this sister coming from?

"No point talking this to death. I see your hostility now, that's enough for me."

Poseidon cut off his thoughts, her expression sharpening with excitement.

"Come on then! Show me! Show me how you'll defy fate, defy destiny!"

"You get one chance. Fail, and you can spend eternity at the ocean's deepest floor, mourning your weakness."

"I'll crown you as my Sea Queen, and together we'll have three excellent children."

Wait, no, you've got this all wrong!

Eros felt a headache coming on, but he had no interest in correcting her now.

Better to act while the potion still kept her power dulled.

"Acheron… lend me your strength."

Once more the Phantom Sovereign Emperor Fist struck, this time sinking into Acheron's mind.

No complex instructions this time, no elaborate commands, just a clear, simple intent.

Acheron's eyes snapped open, dull and vacant.

She's got a good foundation, not just in looks.

As one of Oceanus's firstborn, her divine essence and authority were excellent.

It was just that years of ease had turned her into a spoiled, useless god.

But that didn't matter now. Whatever courage, drive, or will she lacked, Eros could provide it.

The Phantom Sovereign Emperor Fist carried his intent, igniting Acheron's battle spirit.

A sharp crack echoed as her wings spread wide, her form expanding from just over two meters to nearly seven.

Four arms grabbed the nearest marble wall and hurled it at Poseidon.

Her coiling tail propelled her forward, swift as a serpent, hot on the heels of the flying stone.

Both were weakened, their divine powers drained. This was down to flesh and blood.

And that evened the playing field a little.

Otherwise, if Poseidon still had her full might, Acheron would have been flattened in an instant.

But with Eros's battle fury driving her, Acheron was at last using that body's potential.

The clash of these two third-generation gods shook the earth itself.

When their arms collided, the ground quaked like thunder.

"Now this, this is getting interesting!" Poseidon roared.

If Acheron had been no more than a weed at the roadside before, now she was seaweed, still weak, but dangerous if she caught hold of a drowning soul.

Driven by Eros's Phantom Fist, Acheron was like a mad dog unleashed, heedless of pain, unflinching at injury, a predator coiling and striking with serpentine grace.

The silver chains at her waist jingled like bells with every motion.

Each clash ended with Acheron forced back, but their very first collision had already brought the grand bathhouse crashing down.

That marvel Eros had built barely lasted a week before becoming rubble.

And their battle didn't stop there. The entire demi-human city was soon drawn into their storm.

Gods, even without invoking their powers, could bring ruin with every step and strike.

Creatures fled in all directions, desperate to escape being shredded to unrecognizable bits.

What had been a proud, mighty city became broken ruins in moments.

A four-armed, winged siren like a demon.

A confident Poseidon reveling in her strength.

Just their bare hands could smash rock and shatter earth, and they held nothing back.

The river swelled, the sea raged, the sky darkened.

They didn't need magic, just their presence warped the world.

No matter how this ended, the Silver Whirlpool was headed for a long, dark age of ruin.

Mercy? What use was mercy now?

Stepping through blood whose source he didn't bother to guess,

Eros followed those clashing figures, waiting for his chance.

He didn't care about the devastation he'd brought down on these beasts.

Maybe it was his magnetic powers. Maybe it was just who he was.

The so-called Silver Paradise had always been a joke to him.

Just wild animals chasing after Acheron for survival and lust.

He'd said it on his first day here. He had no interest in creatures driven only by hunger and instinct.

And if there was no interest, there was no pity.

His focus stayed locked on Poseidon, waiting for the right moment.

He'd always wanted to see how far he could go.

Magnetic power. Cosmo. Two forces born of will alone, but he'd never truly tested them in battle.

And now, Poseidon, momentarily weakened but still mighty, was the perfect opponent.

She could fight. But she wouldn't kill him.

Athena's mark. His chance to call on Zeus. Those were his trump cards for the end.

Until then, he could see what he was made of.

He couldn't help it. He was excited.
