Chapter 405 – Rage Quit

The quest was finished and all Max had to do was return to the classroom. It was nothing but a simple task that everyone could finish easily.

However… Max felt rather unpleasant when walking back. He wasn't lost, no. Finding a way back was pretty easy with the main building visible through the leaves. Its sheer size that pierced the sky, higher than anything around, became a landmark for students to return.

Once again, returning was pretty easy. But Max had walked for 5 minutes now and the landmark seemed to stay still.

"Weird." He muttered as he stopped on his track, "Is it a bug? I don't seem to be getting closer to the main building at all. Rather, it looks like I am getting away from it."

The initially rather close main building now looked small from his point of view. He had an urge to climb a tall tree and looked around to see what happened, but that would only invite the king of the forest to his location, so he decided to go against it.

— It's indeed weird

— Maybe it's a forced event that's a part of the quest? What do you think? I never played this game myself

— It might also be the effect of a magical forest! I never played this game myself

— Just an idea, why don't you try moving back from where you came from? Never played this game myself

— Dude, the newbies are giving advice while the seniors are laughing lolol. I played this game before

"Right, going back is what I planned to do. And I don't mind if you seniors in this game don't give me advice. I better be without a spoiler and play however I want." Max turned around and began to walk. "I hope this works. Let's just walk 100 meters for now."

After walking 100 meters, he looked up and turned around. There, in its previous location, the main building could be seen even smaller than before.

Seeing that, Max's jaw dropped. He didn't know what was wrong with this.

"Bullshit!" He shouted loudly, "What the heck? Am I trapped in an illusion? Hey, come out you freaking magical illusion creature! I will beat your ass if you don't. This is bullshit. I walked forward and the building was small.

Walk back and it becomes smaller! How the fuck?!" Enjoy new adventures from empire

This was the first puzzle he faced in this game. And because it arrived at an unexpected moment, when he just finished a quest, frustration was gnawing on him.

He just wanted to finish this quest and get more EXP to create the incredible magic he had in mind. He was sure this magic could surprise even his viewers if it was successfully created.

Anyway…

"If it makes me unable to get closer to the academy, then I believe there is something that triggers it. Something like Prilly's pot or a similar item. It should be somewhere in the forest, right?"

— That or the king of the forest don't allow you to leave

— I think dying and get revived in the classroom is the best way to return lol

— It's because you killed those cubs! Heartless demon will be lost forever in the magical forest

— Naaah, this is creepy. The souls of these cubs are refusing to leave the forest and trap Breeze in it!

"Don't make this a horror game, please."

Not only was this forest creepy enough, there were also magical creatures hidden inside. The illusion that he experienced also made him a little bit disoriented. He didn't need the viewers to make this atmosphere weirder.

"Anyway, I hope there is a guiding light at a time like this. Or should I just follow this current one until I am out of the forest? So far, I have followed my path and not this guiding light, after all."

That might be his only clue now. The problem was, the guiding light led him into the forest and not through the animal trail. That was the only reason why he didn't follow it in the first place.

Having no other choice at this point, Max began to follow the light and entered the forest. His wand was ready to send Wind Blade if he sighted an enemy. Walking inside the forest was pretty easy, it wasn't a problem at all.

Before long, when he reached the deep of the forest, the guiding light branches. The large path-like light that pointed at one place was now two, smaller than before. Max once again found himself stopping on his track and scratched his head.

"Now what? Is there two paths leading toward the academy or should I check two places that these guiding lights pointed me to?"

— Well, why don't you head to one of the locations where the light guides you first?

— There is no other choice but to check. But be careful!

— Gods knows.

— Only one way to find out!

"Right. I was foolish. I asked too many questions when I should've just done whatever I wanted."

Maybe because he just finished many side quests or just started the repetitive main quest where he had to enter the magical forest, Max felt a bit bored playing this game.

'It's not that fun.' He thought. 'Let's finish this quest and end the stream. I will find a new game for tomorrow after that.'

To put it simply, this game was boring. The system and everything was good, but he didn't have as much fun as when he played Knight's Journey or V-Shelter Survival.

'I made a mistake.'

He went to the right path and continued walking.

'I should've just started the multiplayer mode from the start. That way, I can have fun playing with my viewers. But now, I have already lost interest in this game. The story's progression is too slow! For god's sake, make it a bit faster!'

Sighing, he pushed himself to walk until he arrived at what seemed like a small lake. The guiding light stopped there and an arrow made of purple smoke pointed at the lake, floating above it.

Max looked around in confusion. What did he need to do with this? Why weren't there any explanations on what to do? At least a pedestal with a puzzle or poem that gave him a hint.

"Shit. I cursed a lot today.." He growled as he tried to enter the lake. But when he got closer, he was blocked by an invisible barrier, preventing him from going further.

"Alright. This is officially the shittiest game that I have ever played. No explanation. No clue. Simple quest. Slow plot.

No exciting magic fight between magicians! I AM FUCKING DONE!"

With the last outburst, he logged out of the game without ending his livestream.

— Lolol he rage quit

— understandable, I would rage quit too

— This game is too advanced for Breeze tsk tsk tsk

— kekw, I knew this would be the case. Who recommended this game to him? Let me commend him!

— It was me, sir. My name is PenLizard!
