Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 752: Grand Summoning Spell

On the other side, Adam swung the staff around him, replicating the Great Barrier technique from the Astral Tyrant Manual as he deflected the ice spears coming at him from all directions.

For the last few minutes, he was trying to utilize his staff to employ the techniques of the extremely versatile Hand of Doom, but something just didn't seem to click.

He frowned to himself for a moment or two before it finally dawned on him.

I see… That explains it.

Then, he quickly weaved a hand seal and teleported, completely disappearing from his spot, leaving behind a thunderous booming sound.

Rank 3 Spell: Thunder Step!

This was the advanced version of the Foggy Step that allowed the caster to teleport anywhere within ninety feet.

"Watch out!" Malcolm roared in alarm when he saw the youth disappear.

He was already so exasperated that he and his allies weren't able to get an upper hand in this battle. Especially, with the arrival of Nylian, the scales had already tipped in their opponents' favor.

And his greatest trump card, the aberrant knight that he had gone through so much trouble to create after killing half a dozen Mana Vortex Magi, had now become utterly useless.

Malcolm's biggest mistake in this battle was not that he underestimated Adam. No, he had made sufficient preparations and was fairly cautious against this youth unlike his predecessor, Olin Barrett.

The emerald-eyed man's biggest mistake was that he had underestimated Nylian Feno!

Not only had the elven councilor of Ravenfell effortlessly taken down two Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magi before arrivng onto this battlefield, now he was even barely having any difficulty while dealing with the flesh golem.

This made Malcolm wonder… Was Nylian really a Rank 3 Magus?

However, he did not have much time to think about such matters, as he suddenly felt a cold sensation creep inside his heart.

Intense warning bells started to ring inside his mind and he got this strange feeling of deja vu. He immediately coated his body with mana and turned around, facing the source of the danger.

That's when he saw the raven-haired youth teleport right next to him and violently swing his staff at him.

BAM!!!

This time, Malcolm's rib cage cracked in several places and he spurted a mouth full of blood as he was sent flying into the air.

Adam had sent him hurling towards land. Not in the direction of the city, however. It was towards the vast and green plains at the clifftop that overlooked the sea.

His attack was powerful enough to send him flying for several miles.

The other two necromancers couldn't believe their eyes when they saw this. They could not comprehend the sheer strength required to pull off such a feat.

But they too didn't have long to think about this matter when they suddenly heard another thunderous clap.

At that moment, they knew that Adam had teleported again. In the blink of an eye, the youth arrived behind them like a ghost and grabbed their heads, almost digging his fingers into their skulls.

Then, he applied strength to his legs and leaped off the surface of the water, vaulting in the direction of the land where Malcolm had flown earlier.

The youth was not worried about Nylian Feno being unable to handle the flesh golem.

From the mana signature the elf radiated, Adam could tell that he was not far from advancing to the Mana Core Rank!

As such, he was extremely confident that Nylian would take care of the aberrant knight.

Now, all that remained was for him to take care of the three cultists, and then tie up some loose ends.

Boom! Boom!

With two successive sounds of explosion, the two cultists were thrown to the grassy clifftop from the sky.

Being handled in such a way was a great humiliation for them. But that was the least of their worries now.

"Get up," said Malcolm as he approached them from behind, wiping the blood dripping from his mouth.

"Malcolm… this man…" One of the cultists got to his feet and gazed at his comrade in sheer panic.

"Is this really the strength of someone who has only just advanced to the Mana Vortex Rank?!"

The other cultist chimed in, "Could it be that he's been a Rank 3 Magus for a long time but had been fooling all of us?"

Malcolm shook his head with a solemn expression, his gaze fixated on the figure rapidly descending from the sky.

"The energy fluctuation around him is chaotic, suggesting the newly transformed liquid mana in his body hasn't truly settled down," the emerald-eyed man flatly muttered, his expression turning grave.

"He is definitely a newly advanced Mana Vortex Magus!" His eyes flashed with certainty.

"Then how…" One of the cultists gulped. "How is he stronger than the rest of us?! That doesn't make sense!"

"Perhaps…" Malcolm began, "This is the reason why the cult leader is so interested in him."

BOOM!

Adam finally landed on the clifftop. He swung his staff in one hand and pointed his other hand at his enemies, taunting them to come at him.

"It was frustrating to fight on water, don't you think?" He asked with a smirk. "Here, I can go all out…. And so can you!"

"You are far too arrogant, Constantine," Malcolm coldly muttered. "Bringing us here will be your downfall."

The next moment, he conjured a white skull—the same one that Olin Barrett once possessed—and instructed his allies, "Bring yours out now. Everything we have in our arsenal… we must use it!"

The following moment, the other two cultists also conjured the same skull-shaped artifact. Then, they pressed all three to the ground, simultaneously activating it.

Macabre Domain!

A spell from the School of Necromancy that spread an aura of darkness and terror all around the caster, further strengthening any other spells from the same school

Darkness enveloped a large area on the clifftop, completely enveloping Adam. Then, dark miasma covered the ground as the three necromancers cast a combined spell yet again.

Rank 3 Spell: Summon Undead!

As hundreds of skeleton soldiers, zombies, ghouls, and wraiths emerged from the dark miasma, Malcolm gazed at Adam and coldly stated, "We couldn't cast this spell on the water, but you made it easier for us now."

He paused for a moment, his eyes spewing anger and hatred. "Your arrogance will be your downfall, Constantine!"

Adam, on the other hand, looked around at the darkness all around him with a solemn expression.

This spell… Could it truly be?

Then he looked at Malcolm and spoke indifferently, "We'll see about that."

He planted his staff on the ground, then weaved a long and complex set of hand seals. A large amount of mana radiated from him as he used it as fuel for his grand summoning spell.

CLAP!

A resounding clap echoed all around the clifftop as the youth clasped his hands together and finally cast his spell.

Rank 3 Spell: House of Cards!
