Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1085: Part 2: Zero Puppet in action again

From MC's Perspective:

I sprinted toward the cover of denser vegetation, the massive trees offering their protective shade. The night was quiet, and there wasn't a soul around. If anyone were to approach, the System would alert me immediately, giving me ample time to react. For now, it was just me and the wilds.

Reaching the largest of the trees, I paused and pulled out the Zero Puppet from the System space, its form lifeless but brimming with dormant power. I swiftly inserted a handful of mid-grade mana stones into the puppet's core, watching as the dormant energy within it stirred to life. In moments, the Zero Puppet's eyes flickered open, glowing faintly with power. It rose to attention, bowing slightly.

"Master," it greeted in a monotone, yet respectful voice.

"Kill everyone within the vicinity," I commanded, my voice cold and measured. "If you encounter any Wizard at level-8 or higher, gather as much information as possible, then return to me. Do not engage Peak-level Wizards."

With that, I handed the puppet a sleek, black knife, one of the many artifacts I had taken during my past raids. It gleamed ominously in the moonlight, a weapon as deadly as the puppet wielding it.

Without a word, the Zero Puppet nodded and vanished into the night, its movements swift and precise, leaving not a trace of sound.

...

In the control room, I oversaw the operation. Although the control mirror's field of vision was limited, I could observe the immediate vicinity of the colossal shade tree. Yet, I had unwavering faith in Zero Puppet's abilities.

Meanwhile, Zero Puppet had successfully identified its first target: a sinister-looking wizard cloaked in black. This wizard was one of the spies dispatched by Tolu Country, a neighboring nation. While the barren region bordered Tolu's territory, its significance had escalated due to the escalating tensions between the two countries.
Your journey continues with empire

The spy, along with his cohorts, had been sent to investigate whether any citizens of Sand Rock Country were hiding in the area. Little did he know that he was already under Zero Puppet's watchful gaze. Upon receiving his master's command, the puppet moved with the stealth and precision of a seasoned assassin.

The magic dagger clutched in its hand, a deadly instrument capable of piercing through flesh and bone, was poised for action. Zero Puppet observed the spy's movements for a moment, then vanished into the wind. In an instant, it reappeared behind the unsuspecting target.

With a swift and deadly motion, the puppet plunged the dagger into the spy's back, aiming directly for his heart. The blade easily penetrated his flesh, penetrating deep within to rupture his vital organ. The spy's eyes widened in shock and disbelief before he succumbed to the fatal wound.

....

After swiftly eliminating the spy, the puppet—crafted with a human-level intellect—did not overlook the opportunity to inspect the storage bracelet. With precision, it searched for valuables, its mechanical eyes gleaming under the moonlight. Satisfied with its findings, the puppet vanished from the scene without leaving a trace, slipping seamlessly into the night.

Moments later, the puppet identified its next target. This time, it was not a lone spy but a team—a group of wizards from the enemy nation, combing through the area for any signs of infiltrators. The puppet, cloaked in shadows, silently recorded their conversation. Its keen analysis quickly revealed a critical detail: not a single member of the team was a Level-8 wizard.

Armed with this knowledge, the puppet made its decision to strike.

The night provided perfect cover, but the wizards, despite their enhanced eyesight, relied more on their senses and magical devices to detect danger. Unbeknownst to them, a silent predator lurked in the darkness, calculating its next move. The Zero Puppet, motionless and patient, observed every movement with cold precision.

As one wizard broke away from the group, likely to investigate a distant noise or check their perimeter, the puppet saw its opening. In an instant, the wizard disappeared, snatched away without a sound. The others, still oblivious to the danger lurking in the shadows, continued their search. One by one, wizards began vanishing into the night, leaving no sign of a struggle.

The remaining members of the group finally sensed something was wrong. Fear began to grip them as they realized they were being hunted. Their worst fear materialized—the thought that they were being targeted by a hostile nation's advanced-level wizard, a foe just below the rank of the fabled Peak Wizards.

...

The surviving wizards, their nerves frayed and hearts pounding, were now solely focused on one thing: escape. They understood the grim reality—if they were being hunted by an Advanced or even Peak-level wizard, remaining in this place was tantamount to suicide.

There was no point in trying to continue their mission. Yet, before they could flee, protocol demanded they report back to their superiors. With tense whispers and shaking hands, they sent urgent messages to Tolu Country's higher-ups, detailing the mysterious and lethal force that had decimated their team.

Meanwhile, the Zero Puppet—crafted for one sole purpose: to kill—waited in the shadows. It had received no specific instructions about allowing or stopping the communication, its cold, calculating mind indifferent to anything beyond its kill orders. As the wizards relayed their message, the puppet stood motionless, its mechanical intelligence focused on the next phase of its mission.

The moment the group finished their report and prepared to flee, the puppet sprang into action. With an eerie, silent precision, it targeted the retreating wizards. One by one, they fell as the puppet moved like a shadow in the night, eliminating each wizard before they could fully grasp what was happening.

Despite their desperation to escape, they stood no chance against a foe that hunted them with relentless efficiency.

As the night stretched on, the final moments of the wizards came and went, leaving the area deathly silent. None of those sent to investigate the infiltrators survived. However, the damage had already been done. The critical information regarding the supposed presence of an Advanced-level wizard had already reached the ears of Tolu Country's superiors.
