God Simulator: The Goddesses In The Simulation Are All Real

Chapter 189: Hopeless Situation Of The Diviner World

Hearing Aurielle's explanation, Linsley gritted his teeth. "Damn it! Those Outer Gods are as hateful as ever. They can even manipulate the natives of a world to join their side and betray the righteous cause."

The memory of his enslavement by the Outer God surfaced briefly, fueling his deep-seated hatred for their race. It had become his life's goal to exterminate them and liberate the worlds they ruled.

However, Linsley wasn't naive. He knew that not everyone shared the same convictions. There were no eternal enemies, only eternal interests—except for him. To Linsley, the Outer God Race would always be his enemy, no matter the circumstances.

Regaining his composure, Linsley asked Aurielle, "Let me guess. Some of those traitors turned against the universe because they hit a bottleneck in their power and could no longer grow stronger. Joining the Outer Gods' side gave them the chance to increase their strength, didn't it?"

Aurielle sighed, nodding. "Yes. And others joined simply because they believe the Outer Gods will win. For some diviners, all that matters is being on the winning side, regardless of the cost."

"It's rare for those in power to care about the greater good or the bigger picture. After all, many of those who've risen to such levels of strength have already seen the worst of human nature. Some of them were victims of it themselves."

"Because of that, they feel no obligation to save the world when the world didn't save them when they needed it most."

Her voice took on a somber tone as she continued, "But those people are narrow-minded. They fail to see that life is about overcoming suffering, tempering yourself, and emerging stronger after enduring trials and adversities."

"The suffering inflicted by the Outer God Race, however, is not just a personal trial—it's the trial of the entire universe. If they manage to seize the origin of the gifts from me and deprive everyone of their gifts, this universe will be reduced to nothing more than the Outer Gods' playground, beyond any hope of salvation."

When Aurielle answered his question, Linsley noticed a hint of frustration in her voice.

As the Superpower God, it was Aurielle's duty to protect the universe from the Outer Gods, just as it had been Evangeline and Kania's duty to protect the Avatar World from their influence.

However, Linsley knew that not all World Gods fulfilled their duties. Kania's betrayal of the Avatar World was proof enough of that.

Fortunately, Aurielle wasn't the same. While she had retreated from the battlefield, her decision had been a rational one. Despite her immense power—enough to kill an Outer God in the previous god simulation—she understood that even the strongest could fall when outnumbered. Two hands were no match for four.

Aurielle might have been invincible in a one-on-one battle, but facing countless Outer Gods at once would inevitably tire her out, exposing vulnerabilities during a prolonged fight.

It was this harsh reality that had forced her to seal her powers and incarnate as a human. She had relinquished her divinity and powers as the Superpower God, knowing that unsealing them would undoubtedly draw the attention of the Outer Gods.

Reflecting on this, Linsley pondered, 'In the previous god simulation, Aurielle must have been forced to unlock her seal. The Outer God's attack must have pushed her to her limits, forcing the seal to break in order to protect her.'

'But by doing so, she likely revealed her location to the other Outer Gods. Even though she killed one of them, her unsealed state would have made her a target. If they defeated her in that timeline, the entire universe would have been doomed.'

'Fortunately, my god simulation can reset the universe, giving me the chance to find a satisfactory solution for this world.'

After a moment of silence, Linsley asked Aurielle, "How grave is the situation? Is the righteous side heavily outnumbered?"

Aurielle's expression darkened, a rare look of defeat crossing her face as she replied, "The overall combat power of the righteous side compared to the Outer Gods' faction is a mere three to ten."

"Even if the righteous side gave everything they had to wipe out the Outer Gods and their traitors, some would inevitably survive," she continued. "The only reason the Outer Gods' faction hasn't waged an all-out war yet is that certain traitors and Outer Gods are hesitant to push the righteous side into a corner."

"If the righteous side fought to the death, they could still kill a significant number of the Outer Gods and traitors. The Outer Gods' faction is selfish—they don't want to be among the casualties."

She let out a weary sigh before adding, "If they were to obtain the origin of the gifts from me, they could easily crush the righteous side by depriving them of their gifts. Only a few diviners, like you, have fully owned their gifts. But such numbers are negligible when compared to the full strength of the Outer Gods' forces."

"Because of this, none of them are willing to risk open conflict. Ironically, it's my escape and continued hiding that's kept the universe from falling to the Outer Gods' faction entirely."

Aurielle paused, her tone growing heavier. "If the Outer Gods were more united and determined, the universe would have fallen long ago. But the Outer Gods invading this universe aren't the expendable foot soldiers sent to conquer weaker worlds—they're nobles of the Outer God Race."

"And because of that," she continued, bitterness creeping into her voice, "they seek to strengthen themselves by devouring the universe's origin. But none of them are willing to risk their own lives for it."

When Aurielle mentioned the Outer Gods in the Diviner World's universe being of noble status, Linsley wasn't particularly surprised. He understood that the Diviner World's universe was so high-end that it suppressed the displayed power of every living being within it.

It was incomparable to the Outer Gods from the Avatar World or Terra, where those entities weren't even Type 4 existences.

In other words, Outer Gods below Type 4 were nothing more than fodder, disposable tools sent to destroy weak worlds, while those above Type 5 held noble status within the Outer God Race.

After hearing Aurielle's words, Linsley sighed. "Look on the bright side—at least the universe is still intact because they're cowards. If they were more decisive, the Outer Gods would've taken over long ago."

He hesitated for a moment before asking, "Does that mean I can't rely on your help in dealing with them?"

Aurielle shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I can't. Unless it's a decisive war where the righteous faction has a considerable chance of winning, I can't risk revealing myself. If that moment comes, I'll fight for the righteous faction. But until then, I'll hide for as long as I can to delay the inevitable enslavement by the Outer Gods."

She paused, then fixed him with a curious look. "But why are you so adamant about going against the Outer Gods? Even as a Level 9.9 diviner, capable of ascending to the higher realm, you shouldn't be aware of their existence. Yet you already suspected that the unknown virus was their creation."

Linsley's expression darkened, his tone serious as he responded, "I'm not from this world, or even this universe. I'm a World God who freed my world from the Outer God's enslavement—and I killed the Outer God responsible."

He continued, his voice laced with conviction, "Because of that, I know exactly how vile they are. I know what their presence feels like. I've died countless times fighting the Outer God Race, but I've always come back, and I'll continue to fight until they're wiped out."

Aurielle's gaze softened as she listened to his words, piecing together the truth behind his motivations. His determination made sense now—he wasn't just another diviner. He was one of the Outer Gods' victims.

As for the other details he mentioned—being a World God from another universe, and having died multiple times yet still living—Aurielle deduced that it was likely the will of the universe itself calling for assistance from beyond. Linsley must be one of the rare reinforcements summoned to aid their dying world.

Still, Aurielle knew such occurrences were exceedingly rare. The difficulty of their universe was immense, suppressing the power of those within it.

Even righteous gods hesitated to intervene in their situation, as it was so close to hopeless. Many of those gods were also preoccupied with the cancers of the Outer God Race within their own universes.

Outside assistance like Linsley's was rare indeed, and Aurielle chose not to press him further for his secrets.

Instead, she smiled faintly. "Thank you for your assistance. But if you find that saving this world is beyond you, don't push yourself. I know how despairing our current situation is. Even I, the strongest in this universe, can only hide."

She gave a self-deprecating laugh, her smile tinged with bitterness. "For the strongest in the universe to be a liability... I really must be pathetic."
