Chapter 284: She's Talking About Keith

A few days later, Amelia and Clara took Emma out from their mansion in the capital. It had been a while since they left, but there was something they really wanted to do.

Clara looked at the small paper in her hand and glanced at the two lines, an address.

"We'll have to walk quite a bit." she said as she looked at Amelia, who nodded.

"Yeah, I know. I went there last night but Keith wasn't there so…."

Miya looked up at the two of them, "Where are we going?"

Amelia turned to the girl and smiled playfully, "We're going to meet papa's sister."

The two of them expected Miya to get excited, but her reaction was far from what they thought it would be. She nodded and looked forward silently as she walked beside them.

Clara and Amelia looked at each other before Clara placed her hand on Miya's small head, "Is something wrong, Miya?"

"…No." she said, but her voice cracked. The three of them immediately stopped and Amelia knelt down, "Tell us what's on your mind."

Miya looked her her with watery eyes and spoke, her voice almost a whisper, "Are you giving me away? My uncle did it…" she said as she stared at her feet and then looked up, "Was I a bad girl?"

"Of course not!" Clara exclaimed as she hugged her from behind, "We're really going to papa's sister's house. To introduce you. They also have a son, he'll be your cousin. I forgot his name though…"

This time, Miya's eyes lit up as she nodded excitedly, "Big brother?"

"Noo he's small. I think he's around two years now?" Amelia said as she estimated the child's age, to which Clara nodded.

The trio hired a carriage and set on towards the edge of the capital, a place that was pretty close to the slums.

Almost an hour later, the three of them got off the carriage and walked for a bit before stopping in front of a small house. Amelia took out the small piece of paper and took a look at it before she shifted her attention back to the house.

"Should be this one… but why is the house so small? Based on what Keith said, his brother in law should be making enough money to get a house at a better place so I don't understand why they decided on this place." Clara said softly as she walked towards the door.

Amelia followed with Miya holding her hands, "Yeah, and it's really close to the slums too. I've heard that robberies are really common here."

Clara nodded in response and knocked on the door a few times before waiting.

"Coming!" a voice came out from inside the house and a few seconds later, the door was pulled open.

Rebecca looked a the two of them and then her eyes travelled down to Miya. She looked up at them with a confused expression on her face.

"Where's Keith?"

Amelia looked at Clara and cleared her throat before she started speaking, "Well, Keith is on some sort of important mission or whatever. We umm… actually came here because we wanted to talk about Keith. With you."

Rebecca stared at them for a few seconds before nodding. Then she took a step forward and looked around.

"Get in quickly. You're not supposed to be here at this moment." she said, looking slightly anxious as Amelia and Clara rushed in with Miya right behind them.

Once they were all in, she locked the door behind her and guided them to the living room. A small child sat on the floor in middle of a huge mess. Multiple toys were sprawled on the floor, both broken and intact ones.

He turned around, saw his mother standing with three strangers and panicked. He jumped up, stomped on a small wooden spinning top, screamed in pain as he grabbed his foot with one hand and covered his bare privates with the other while skipping over to his mother.

"Maaa!" he wailed as he got closer and Rebecca picked him up before looking at her guests apologetically, "Give me a minute please. I'll just… take him to our bedroom."

Clara and Amelia smiled as they nodded, but Miya on the other hand raised her hand, her palm facing a small potted plant near the window. The plant grew extremely fast and it's tiny branch moved towards the center of the room and began to toss all the toys into a small wooden box that was at a corner.

Rebecca stood frozen while all of this happened while her son stared at Miya with wide eyes.

He pointed towards her and grabbed his mom's hair and pulled it slightly, "Maa, I want her."

Rebecca smacked her knuckles on his head and began to head to the bedroom while lecturing him, "She's not a toy, Kris! Show some respect to the others. Seriously, your father spoils to rotten."

Amelia and Clara shared a wry smile as they sat down on the couch while Miya walked over to the plant. She grabbed the stems and broke them one by one before patting the plant.

Almost instantly, the short stems grew a little and now looked like the way it was before Miya used her powers on it. She then looked at the long green stems and they began to slither like snakes as they tangled with each other.

They weaved around each other and after almost a minute, Miya walked over and grabbed the green hat and kissed it gently, making the hat grow multiple white flowers.

Right at this moment, Rebecca walked into the living room and looked a the trio, "So… what did you want to talk about?"

Before Amelia or Clara could respond though, Miya rushed over and raised the hat towards Rebecca, "Papa told me to give gifts whenever I go to other's homes."

"Papa?" Rebecca asked softly, looking slightly confused as she looked up at the other two who were sitting on the couch.

"Umm… she's talking about Keith." Amelia said, blushing slightly.
