Chapter 629: Sylvheriel

Noah nodded indifferently, watching each of her movements carefully.

"What do you want to know from her?" After much deliberation, he turned back toward his friend and asked. While speaking, his hands moved, and the restraints on the woman's body loosened.

Having her hands and legs freed, the woman rose to her feet and immediately tried to turn around and run towards the gate.

But as soon as she stepped back, her feet froze in their place. She tried her best to take a step, but her body refused to comply with her wishes.

"Everything." Seeing her futile action, Wuhan's eyes flashed with a cold light. "From how she got in that place to the information about their continent."

Nodding Noah turned back to the woman and removed the cloth stuffed in her face.

"Kek Eera Bchongh bacel Era Cwar Elfa, Mai kina Dita." As soon as she was ungagged, she let out incoherent streaks of words that no one from the palace understood, but hearing the mighty tone in her voice and the arrogant look in her eyes, they understood that it was anything but good.

Then she suddenly sensed Noah coming towards her and turned to look at him.

"You seem to know about elves? Unhand me this instant!" She demanded, though only he understood what she was saying. "I know what you are: disgusting humans that our ancestors talked about."

"The inferior species that even prey on their kind and are destructive to nature." She hurled insults at him while backing away as he came closer.

Noah did not seem to hear her words; her arrogant demeanor was nothing but a false bravado he could see through.

"I am—"

Bang!

Thud!

Before she could continue speaking, Noah appeared before her and punched her in the stomach, sending her hurling back, colliding against a tall pillar.

"You are nothing but a pest. A disgusting elf that is now captive in our empire, and now your life is at our mercy."

Noah uttered those words without any emotions on his tongue. The woman, struggling to sit up from the impact, shuddered under his gaze.

Blood trickled down from the corner of her lips.

"I—" She wanted to continue to act tough, but she had no strength left. Her body gave away the exhaustion she had been enduring.

On the side, Prime Minister Shi Tzu was surprised to see how Noah was handling the woman.

Even more surprised at the fact that he could speak the language of foreigners who were from different continents.

'Just who had his majesty befriended? As expected of our great ruler, the strongest emperor.'

Having no idea what the prime minister was thinking about and making imaginary stories about his background in his mind, Noah continued to apply pressure on the woman before him.

"Now I know no elf would come out of their hole without something driving them away."

"I will tell you nothing!" Despite struggling to keep her breathing steady, the unknown woman in ceremonial robes maintained her strong front.

"Instead I will propose an offer to you, human." She leaned back against the pillar behind her and looked Noah in the eye. There was undisguised disdain towards humans in her voice.

"Help me in my quest, and you will be rewarded generously with riches that your puny kingdom cannot fathom." She looked at Wuhan from the corner of her eyes; she did not need to understand their language to know that he was the king of the humans.

"You will be blessed by the king of the noble spirits of nature if you help me."

The look of disdain in her eyes directed at the emperor made the prime ministers and some of the guards standing in the hall frown.

And right then—

BOOM!

A deep, oppressive, and destructive aura came out, flooding from Noah and filling the hall with dread and chill.

The guards in the rooms were forced to kneel on the ground, unable to bear the pressure.

Even the prime minister was no different.

Several figures hidden in the shadows tensed, feeling the dense aura. The chilling sensation that accompanied the aura declared that whatever the woman had said had offended the emperor's friend.

Cracks started to appear on the ground around Noah, and the air seemed to bend under the force of his anger.

Startled, Wuhan hurriedly waved his hand to isolate the aura coming from Noah to only affect the woman.

"I don't like the tone you spoke in." Looking down at the woman who was now looking at him in newfound fear and something deeper, something that seemed like disbelief and awe.

"You are in no place to make demands here, and I am here to help you realize that." Noah stepped away from the woman and slowly took away his aura.

As soon as he did that, the woman who looked like she had seen a ghost fell on her knees with a plop.

"I humbly… apologize to the chosen one." She stammered while kneeling on the ground, prostrating herself before Noah. Her previous arrogance had vanished without any trace.

"Please forgive my foolish self for insulting your divine presence."

"I was not aware that you—your excellency—have been blessed." The more she spoke, the more her voice trembled in reverence and remorse.

Everyone else but Noah in the room looked at the scene with a shocked look on their face.

They had no idea what she was saying, but they could tell something incomprehensible had happened, and it was not because she was scared of his power.

They could feel praise and worship oozing out of the woman.

Noah paused before snorting coldly, "Answer my questions, and you will not be killed."

This time he did not speak in Elvish, but he used the mother tongue of the Red Fire Continent.

Yet the woman seemed to have understood each word he spoke. Not only that, she even spoke the same language.

"As you command, your excellency," Everyone was shocked to hear those words coming out of the woman's mouth and turned to look at Noah with a wary yet curious gaze.

"Tell us your name and where you came from." It was Wuhan who broke the silence with his question.

The woman, instead of answering directly, looked at Noah for confirmation. Only when she saw him nod did she open her mouth to speak. "...You cannot comprehend my greatness, but since it's the revered one's wish, it shall be fulfilled."

She paused, her eyes narrowing. "I am Sylvheriel, Priestess in charge of the Eldergarden. I came from the Flara continent, the home of sacred spirits and the abode of the great elves."
