Chapter 436: Recruiting More Disciples! [5]
"I won't lie to you; there might be a huge chance that she will be facing many dangerous situations in the future," Noah leaned forward and explained, his words further scaring the woman.
"But soon, those fights will breach the gates of just the Feng Empire and spread to her," Noah sighed and continued, "I am not trying to scare you here. I am telling you what is bound to happen."
"There is a group of people out there who are trying to abduct kids with high talent. I am sure your daughter should be on their list of targets as well," Noah continued, explaining about the Red Dawn Cult without going into much detail.
"Are you saying that if we want to save our daughter from this unknown group, we should send her along with you?" Shi Jie frowned.
Noah shook his head and replied, "I am saying that your daughter has a better chance of not getting targeted with the strongest people on the continent by her side."
Shi Jie bit her trembling lips as her mind failed to make a judgment best for her daughter. Ma Mingli held her hand to show his support, waiting for his wife to say something.
"Mom…" Ma Li broke the silence, holding her hand back tightly. Seeing the pleading expression on her face, Shi Jie already understood what her daughter wanted to say, "I want to go!"
"I won't be able to see you." Shi Jie cupped her daughter's face, her voice almost breaking down.
"You will. I will come to visit you whenever I get the chance."
"I won't stop worrying…"
"You won't." Ma Li and Shi Jie chuckled lightly as tears streamed down their faces.
Soon, they calmed down, and the room returned to silence.
"What's this?" Shi Jie asked, seeing Noah placing two yellow talismans on the table.
"Long Range Talismans. Using this, you can talk to her across the boundary. It might not work sometimes, but you two should be able to talk with each other often." Noah then explained how to use the talisman and connected the two of them.
He passed one to Shi Jie and another to Ma Li. He already knew what her choice would be and decided to help them a little.
"Thank you very much!" Shi Jie expressed her gratitude by lowering her head, but Noah used his qi to stop her in the middle. "There is no need to thank me. Ma Li will be helping us out a lot, and this is the least I could do in return."
Seeing the teasing smirk on his face, Ma Li pouted while her mother chuckled lightly.
"When are you leaving?" Ma Mingli smiled, seeing the happy faces of his family before asking them.
"Unfortunately, we have to leave as soon as possible." Seeing the frown on his face, Noah explained, "We have to visit others and take them along with us."
Even Ma Li was surprised by their rushed approach. She thought that she would have some time with her family before they would have to leave.
…
After revealing that they did not have much time with their daughter, Noah and Xin Yan left them alone to spend some time together before they left.
"Is it okay to do this?" Standing in the middle of the courtyard, Xin Yan looked in the direction of the room they had just left and asked.
"We have to do this; there is no way we can leave vulnerable talents for them to take away." Noah sighed, glancing up at the sky, his eyes looking at the clouds as if trying to see past them.
Xin Yan clenched her fists before sighing out loud.
*Clank!*
Soon, the door of the room opened, catching their attention. The three of them walked out of the gates.
"I am ready!" Walking up to them, Ma Li exclaimed with determination. There were signs of redness on her nose and eyes.
"Are you sure you don't need more time? If you want a few more minutes, we don't mind." Xin Yan's heart melted seeing her state, but Ma Li shook her head.
"If I stay here any longer, it will not get any easier for me to leave."
Behind her, Ma Mingli, who was holding his wife, nodded along with her words.
"Very well, let's go." Noah nodded with a sigh before taking out their old chariot flying artifact.
Ma Li pursed her lips before taking a deep breath, then took a step forward and walked inside the chariot. Xin Yan was next, followed by Noah.
*Woosh!*
Under the eyes of Ma Mingli and Shi Jie, the flying artifact took off straight upwards. The sight of a flying artifact caught the attention of mortals and cultivators alike.
They all looked at the chariot in amazement as it flew away into the distance.
Seeing the artifact disappearing, Shi Jie broke into her husband's arms and cried her eyes out.
Despite how strong she appeared, she knew she wouldn't be seeing her daughter for a long time.
While the two of them walked inside their rooms, a dark light shot upwards, unnoticed by anyone, in the same direction as the flying artifact.
"Are you okay?" Xin Yan, who was sitting beside the young woman, asked worriedly.
"I am fine; this artifact is really fast." Ma Li waved her hand and changed the topic, looking outside the chariot only to see everything flashing by like a blur.
"This is the slowest speed of this artifact." Noah chuckled, not minding her change of topic. He also went along with it to put her heart at ease.
"Do you mean we can go faster?" Ma Li's eyes went wide as she raised her voice. "Take us there faster; I want to feel it!!"
Noah chuckled and looked at the wooden frame behind Xin Yan like he could see through it and muttered, "Maybe that would be a good workout too."
Confused by his words, Ma Li wanted to ask something, but the next moment...
"Ahhk!" She squealed as the speed of the artifact increased all of a sudden.
*Woosh!*
Seeing the artifact flying faster, the figure following behind also followed suit. The two streams of light were left in the sky as they flew over the forbidden forest in the direction of their next destination.
