Chapter 347: Noah's Trust
"This is…" Elysia muttered in disbelief as she moved her gaze around, "…your soul realm?" She turned to look at Noah, and his smile was all the confirmation she needed.
"Don't you know that you should not allow people in your soul realm? This place is the most vulnerable part of a cultivator's body." Elysia did not look happy at the moment as she asked Noah with an annoyed look on her face. She thought that he was too irrational even to bring someone into his soul realm.
"Even if you have ways to protect your soul realm, it is just reckless to bring anyone here."
As Elysia went on with her lecture, Noah listened to it silently with a small smile on his face.
"Why are you smiling…?" Elysia narrowed her eyes seeing Noah smiling when she was talking about something important.
"What makes you think that I do not trust you enough to bring you here?" hearing Noah's question, Elysia could not speak anymore. "When you can trust me enough to give in your consciousness in my hand why cannot I do this for you?"
Seeing the sincere look on his face, Elysia did not have any comeback. She kept staring at Noah until her eyes started to moisten. Slowly, tears started to stream out of her eyes. She raised her hands and grazed her cheeks with the tip of her fingers with a plain look on her face.
"How weird…" She muttered, seeing the tears on her finger. "To think your trust meant so much to me… looks like I am on the point of no return."
Elysia looked back into Noah's eyes and forced out a smile before walking forward.
*Thump!*
She embraced Noah in her arms and buried her face in his chest. Without saying anything, Noah just calmly caressed the back of her head. She sobbed in happiness while clinging to his clothes. Although she knew Noah trusted her, somewhere in her heart, she needed a gesture like this to be the confirmation.
"You wanted to know what happened while I was facing my own demons, right? I will show you, it was the same as what happened when I met Evelyn. Or at least most of it." After some time, Noah spoke up and separated from Elysia before he waved his hands and small butterflies came from his hands before they all swirled around them.
Elysia watched the butterflies start to merge and soon they were surrounded by a huge screen. Some images appeared on it before it started to move.
She watched with her own eyes what happened after Noah entered the Elven Kingdom. Noah looked at her from the corner of his eyes, waiting to see her reaction. Elysia was so focused on seeing the scene of Noah killing the demon king's general that she failed to notice his gaze.
'I totally forgot about this…' Noah thought, looking at the same scene, but fortunately, she did not say anything and silently watched along with him.
Time went by, and before they knew it, Elysia watched Noah kissing Evelyn on her deathbed. As she lay there in his embrace crumbling in light, he saw a hint of envy in Elysia's eyes.
But beside that, there was a complex emotion in her eyes that Noah failed to comprehend, but before he could even try to look deeper, the scene of his fight with the demon ended and the butterflies shattered like a shower of sparkles.
He saw Elysia looking at him with a confused look on her face; she seemed to have hidden other emotions deep in her heart. He guessed she thought that Noah decided to change his interaction with her and Xin Yan because of the scene of their death and he was not entirely wrong. She was indeed thinking something like that, but there was also another question on her mind.
"Why did you bring me here?" her question confused Noah until she continued, "You could have shown me this outside…"
"That is true, but you asked me if there was something that made me act like that." Noah turned around to face his soul before continuing, "The answer to that is yes… you just watched everything that happened during my facing the inner demon. But you just saw the things that happened once; I saw her die and everything repeated without any recollection of reality for more than a thousand times."
At first, Elysia was a little sad hearing his words, but her face paled when she heard the second half of his words. "No way… thousand times?"
Seeing the look of horror on her face, Noah continued to speak, "Although those years were like torture to me, I was also the most happy person in those years. The pain of her death did not decrease the pain of her presence in my life."
Elysia thought that Noah would be in pain after going through that, but seeing his eyes filled with love and an emotion she could not comprehend, she was stumped.
"After watching her die hundreds of times, I accepted that she was dead, and I was just experiencing my time with her all over again, and at that, all the pain vanished. All that was left was her smile and her words to me."
Noah chuckled lightly as he watched his soul glowing with a profound light. Around his forehead, he could see parts of the soul glowing with a green light. He raised his hands, and the green light intensified.
*Woosh!*
"It was at that moment I realized, her mark was not the only gift she left for me." As soon as he said those words, Elysia saw something coming out of his soul with a flash.
It was a greenish-brown seed that floated between Noah's forefinger and his thumb. It glowed with an ethereal light while giving off a high Dao rhythm that was on the same level as Noah's broken cauldron.
"She left me a part of herself!" Noah confirmed the guess she had with those words.
