Genshin Impact: The Gambler of Teyvat

Chapter 186: Chapter 186: The God Creation Project

Furina's face flushed a vivid red, as bright and dazzling as the evening clouds at dusk. With a mix of irritation and barely concealed embarrassment, she smacked Shajin's hand away with all her strength.

Then, like a startled fawn, she suddenly turned her head. Her fair, delicate cheeks were now as red as ripe apples kissed by the spring sun, and she kept muttering under her breath.

"Ugh, you jerk. I wasn't worried about you or anything~"

But despite her words, her eyes kept flitting back toward Shajin. Then, as if suddenly remembering something important, she asked softly,

"Hey, that person just now…"

Shajin tilted his head playfully, like an innocent little creature full of curiosity. It took him a moment to realize who she meant.

"Oh, you mean Them? That was a god~"

Furina blinked, stunned. Her long lashes fluttered like butterfly wings as disbelief filled her voice.

"Eh? A god? Are They a Fatui Harbinger too?"

Shajin couldn't hold it in anymore. His crisp, melodic laughter rang through the air like silver bells.

"They're far beyond anything a Harbinger could compare to—so powerful, I can't even begin to comprehend it~"

Furina's eyes went wide as saucers, her mind overwhelmed by shock and confusion.

Was that really something from Teyvat?!

Just then, as if a mysterious switch had been flipped in his memory, Shajin suddenly lit up with enthusiasm.

"Oh, right, Fufu—since we're in Sumeru now, wanna meet a few of my colleagues?"

"Second Harbinger, The Doctor, and Sixth Harbinger, The Balladeer."

Furina tilted her head, her waterfall-like hair swaying gently. Her face turned pale with horror as she frantically shook her head.

"Eh?! Harbingers?! No way!!!"

Shajin looked at her expression and sighed, helplessly spreading his hands as he patiently explained, "Relax, I'm here. There's nothing to worry about~"

Furina lowered her head slowly, her thoughts drifting back through time to Fontaine.

Back then, she'd heard countless terrifying tales of the Fatui Harbingers—ruthless, monstrous, inhuman demons.

When she found out her bodyguard was actually one of them, she tried hard to deny it. But to say she wasn't afraid… would've been a lie.

Yet time, like a gently flowing stream, passed quietly—and Furina gradually realized… Shajin didn't seem as terrifying as the rumors claimed.

At least, in her sensitive and unique perception, Shajin was different.

When he was by her side, it was as if she were wrapped in a soft, invisible warmth—a sense of safety that made the outside world's dangers feel far away.

A strange ripple stirred In her heart. Maybe the other Harbingers… aren't all that bad either?

With that thought in mind, Furina reached out hesitantly, tugging gently at the hem of Shajin's clothes. In a voice so soft it was barely louder than a mosquito's wings, she whispered:

"…Let's go, then…"

——

Furina clung tightly to Shajin's back, trembling like a leaf in the autumn wind.

Regret flooded her heart. She'd made a mistake—a huge one.

The scene before her was so terrifying it stripped away any illusions. In this moment, she realized with utter clarity: aside from Shajin, the rest of the Fatui really were terrifying, violent monsters!!!

A tall, slender figure stood before them, cloaked in the unique uniform of a Fatui Harbinger. His face was hidden behind a hawk-like half-mask, which gave off a cold, sinister aura in the dim light.

He held a gleaming surgical knife, waving it in the air as if measuring Furina's body for some twisted experiment. A low, chilling chuckle escaped his lips.

This was none other than the Second Harbinger—The Doctor, Dottore.

"So this is Fontaine's Hydro Archon? Not a bad specimen at all."

"Aventurine, is this your gift to me? How thoughtful of yo—"

But before he could finish, a flash of black-blue light streaked through the air like a meteor in the night sky—brilliant, unstoppable, and faster than the eye could follow.

In that instant, The Doctor's arm—the one holding the scalpel—was cleanly severed as if by an invisible blade. It fell to the ground with a dull thud, raising a puff of dust.

And yet, faced with such a sudden and horrifying assault, The Doctor merely narrowed his eyes slightly. His gaze remained calm—placid as still water. Not a trace of panic or fear could be seen.

Unhurried, he bent down with almost elegant poise, as if nothing had happened. With his uninjured hand, he picked up the severed arm, placed it back onto the stump—and with a casual press…

A miracle unfolded before their eyes.

The limb, once completely detached, reattached itself as if nothing had happened. The whole process was smooth, seamless—almost unnatural.

Just then, Shajin appeared before him like a ghost—silent and deadly.

"Dottore. If you lay a single finger on her, I'll make sure you beg for death."

The Doctor waved dismissively, forcing a laugh.

"Just a joke, nothing serious."

But within, his mind was in chaos—like a sea caught in a raging storm.

That thing just now… it didn't belong to any known Teyvat system. It wasn't the 'Imaginary' energy Shajin typically used, either…

And yet, with his peerless sensitivity, Dottore could tell—it was related. Cut from the same cloth.

A bead of cold sweat rolled down his broad forehead, glistening like a pearl.

"…This is… truly something else…"

He murmured under his breath, voice faintly trembling as the reality before him shook him to the core.

Shajin turned his head slightly, casting a chilling glance toward The Doctor. That look—like a razor-edged blizzard—froze the air itself. One exchange of gazes was enough to make the room feel like an ice chamber.

Without a word, Shajin reached out and gently took Furina's hand.

Her fingers were soft and delicate like fine jade—cool to the touch, yet enough to make the heart race.

And so, hand in hand, the two of them slowly walked deeper into the chamber. Their silhouettes receded, vanishing behind the heavy door, leaving only The Doctor's stifled laughter lingering behind.

Once inside, Furina couldn't help but widen her eyes.

Before her stood an enormous mechanical warframe, emanating a powerful sense of technological might. Floating before it was the Gnosis of the Electro Archon, acting as its power core.

Shajin turned to her and explained.

"This is our Sumeru project. We call it — The God Creation Project."
