Chapter 66: Chapter 66
Akio, of course, understood what Keqing meant. He nodded and gently pinched her cheek, saying, "Alright~ Once Liyue's lockdown ends and your work is done, I'll take you to Inazuma for a visit."
"Okay," Keqing nodded, her heart filled with anticipation for that day. Until then, she would focus on developing Liyue and striving for its future.
After lunch, it was already nearing the afternoon. Akio thought for a moment and decided to take Kitsune Saiguu to check out of their hotel room.
"Akio! You must think of me when you're in Inazuma!" Keqing said, her voice tinged with reluctance as she watched Akio prepare to leave at the docks.
"Of course," Akio nodded. "We'll be off now! Remember to let Ningguang and the others know for me. We won't be stopping by."
"Alright," Keqing looked at the little white fox in Akio's arms and said, "Goodbye, Saiguu."
"Goodbye, little Keqing," Kitsune Saiguu nodded.
Akio stepped forward and hugged Keqing, placing a crystal in her hand that would allow her to contact him. After explaining how to use it, he turned and flew into the sky, disappearing into the horizon like a streak of light.
"Sigh… I already miss him, and he just left," Keqing felt a pang of sadness, but being Keqing, she quickly adjusted her mood. She tucked the crystal away and prepared to go see Ningguang.
As she turned around, she saw Ningguang standing not far away, quietly watching her.
"Huh? Ningguang, when did you get here?" Keqing was startled and walked over, confused.
"Just now, when Lord Akio hugged you," Ningguang said softly.
"You… you saw everything?" Keqing's face turned red with embarrassment. She and Ningguang had always clashed on certain matters, and now that Ningguang had witnessed her vulnerable moment, Keqing felt extremely self-conscious.
"Yes, I didn't expect the Yuheng Star, who has always been skeptical of deities, to secretly be in a relationship with one," Ningguang said with a slight smirk.
"Akio may be a deity, but he's different! You just don't understand!" Keqing glared at Ningguang. This woman's attitude was truly annoying.
"Also, Ningguang, why are you here? You still haven't answered me," Keqing asked.
"After lunch, I had some free time and decided to take a walk by the harbor. Is that a problem?" Ningguang replied calmly.
"That's not it," Keqing said, noticing something off in Ningguang's tone. "Why do I feel like you're acting a bit strange today?"
Keqing scrutinized Ningguang. Ningguang was usually composed and rarely showed her emotions, but today she seemed… different.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Ningguang shivered slightly under Keqing's gaze and frowned.
"Oh~~" Keqing suddenly realized something and pointed at Ningguang. "Are you jealous because you saw me with Akio?"
"Don't tell me you like Akio too? I never expected the Tianquan, adored by thousands, to have a one-sided crush!" Keqing didn't miss the chance to tease Ningguang.
"Keqing, are you so overworked that you're hallucinating?" Ningguang's eye twitched slightly as she coldly replied. "If you're that tired, I can give you a day off to rest."
"Don't forget, we're equals. You don't have the authority to give me a day off," Keqing scoffed. "Looks like I hit a nerve. Someone's upset, but I won't say who."
"You! Keqing!" Ningguang was thoroughly provoked. She had never been this angry before, and seeing Keqing's smug expression only made her more furious.
"Alright, don't be mad," Keqing said, her curiosity piqued. "Ningguang, be honest with me. Do you like Akio?"
"Keqing!" Ningguang's voice rose a few octaves. Why did it feel like Keqing had become a completely different person?
"Alright, alright, I'll stop teasing you. Let's talk business," Keqing waved her hand. "I'll tell you something. Akio just enhanced my Electro Element power."
"My strength now should be on par with the adepti," Keqing said. "In a few days, when the Millelith go to clear out the monsters, I'll test my abilities."
"If what Akio said is true, and my strength is now comparable to the adepti, then Liyue will truly enter an era of human governance," Keqing said seriously. "At least in the face of non-Archon-level disasters, we won't need to rely on the adepti to protect Liyue."
"Really?" Ningguang looked at Keqing with surprise, then asked suspiciously, "Wait, Keqing, didn't you dislike relying on divine power?"
"Hmph! Akio is different. Even though he's a deity, he's also my man now! If I refused his power, wouldn't that just be pretentious?" Keqing snorted. "Besides, Akio gave me this power so I can better lead everyone and protect Liyue. Why wouldn't I accept it?"
"Right, right," Ningguang quickly nodded. "It seems that after falling in love, you've really matured, Keqing."
"Huh? Ningguang, what do you mean by that? Are you saying I was childish before?" Keqing glared at Ningguang, displeased.
"Alright, alright," Ningguang said, as if comforting a younger sister. She stepped forward and linked arms with Keqing. "Since you don't have any work left, and my tasks are also done, why don't we go shopping together?"
"Huh?" Keqing looked at Ningguang, who was now holding her arm. The two had never been this close before, always at odds. Why was Ningguang suddenly so friendly?
"Ningguang, what are you doing? Let go," Keqing said, feeling a bit uncomfortable with Ningguang's sudden warmth.
"Don't sisters usually link arms when they go shopping? Why can't we?" Ningguang didn't let go, speaking as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"Who's your sister…" Keqing muttered, then her eyes widened. "Ah! I knew it! Ningguang, you're still up to no good!"
"I knew it! You're being nice for a reason," Keqing snorted.
"Why do you have to say it like that?" Ningguang didn't deny it this time. Instead, she said, "They say heroes pursue beauties, but can't beauties pursue heroes too?"
"See! You admitted it!" Keqing looked at Ningguang with disdain. "But you're really shameless! Calling yourself a beauty like that!"
"Am I not?" Ningguang said without a hint of modesty. "The Tianquan, Ningguang, wealthy beyond measure. Her bright eyes and charming demeanor outshine even the peach and apricot blossoms. That's the praise I received from that little girl at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor."
Ningguang leaned in and whispered a few words into Keqing's ear. Keqing's eyes lit up slightly, and she looked at Ningguang seriously. "Since you like Akio so much, fine! Next time I contact him, I'll put in a good word for you."
"Don't forget what you just said!" Keqing added. As expected of Ningguang, a single sentence was enough to make Keqing agree to her idea.
