Chapter 388: Chapter 388: Special Attribute
Imbuing external objects with attributes seemed like a bit of a waste, considering "spiritual energy" wasn't infinite.
After contemplating for a while, Nolan ultimately decided to imbue the affection skill he had obtained from Sucrose, "Fairy Tale Wonderland," with a special attribute.
The main issue was that the "Wonderland" still felt a bit small.
He hoped to gain an attribute that would expand the spatial dimensions of the Wonderland. That would be fantastic—it could open the possibility of adding a beach, hot springs, or even a swimming pool to the Wonderland.
It would also create more places for fun and relaxation with everyone.
As for whether the attribute imbued by the "Spiritual Core" might have negative effects, that generally wasn't a concern.
Nolan had no reason to worry that imbuing the attribute would somehow shrink the space of the "Fairy Tale Wonderland."
The moment he made his decision, the milky-white "Spiritual Core"—which had been full of "spiritual energy"—emptied instantly. It reverted to its shadow-like form and started gathering "spiritual energy" anew.
It seemed that the events surrounding his blocking of the "Musou no Hitotachi" had begun to spread and ferment in Inazuma City.
The "Spiritual Core" now gathered "spiritual energy" slightly faster than before. By around noon tomorrow, it would likely be fully recharged again.
For now, Nolan put aside the matter of the "Spiritual Core" and turned his attention to the "Fairy Tale Wonderland" imbued with its new attribute.
He wanted to see what special changes had occurred.
[Fairy Tale Wonderland: This Is An Independent Realm Of Eternal Joy, Devoid Of Aging or Sickness. Anyone Entering It Will Experience Eternal Happiness. Current Size: 131 Square Meters (expands with the levels of Nolan and Sucrose). Spiritual Core Attribute: Eternal Springtime.]
The description of this affinity skill hadn't changed much aside from the size, but there was now a suffix indicating the addition of a "Spiritual Core Attribute."
Still, what use was the "Eternal Springtime" attribute? Nolan thought to himself in frustration.
After all, the description of the Wonderland already guaranteed that "entering this place brings happiness"—this wasn't an empty promise. If living there brought happiness, then the climate couldn't possibly be uncomfortably hot or cold.
Thus, even without the "Eternal Springtime" attribute, the Wonderland was already guaranteed to have a perfectly comfortable climate.
Adding this attribute seemed completely redundant—a waste!
Fortunately, although only one attribute could be active at a time, it wasn't a one-time-only deal. Once the "Spiritual Core" was fully recharged tomorrow, he could imbue the "Fairy Tale Wonderland" with a new attribute.
The new attribute would then replace the old one.
When that time came, he would simply swap out the redundant "Eternal Springtime" for something more functional.
Speaking of which, his luck with draws had always been rather average. Perhaps before attempting to imbue a new attribute tomorrow, he should wash his hands and face for good fortune—or maybe head back to Mondstadt and pat Klee on the head for a bit of luck?
Nolan felt that relying on Klee's luck might be more practical than indulging in superstitions.
After all, Klee's "Trifolium Constellation" genuinely brought her incredible luck, with no side effects whatsoever. It could even suppress Bennett's notoriously unlucky "Wheel of Misfortune Constellation."
It was absurdly powerful!
Nolan was convinced that borrowing some of Klee's luck would definitely help him draw a useful attribute!

The Next Morning
At dawn, Nolan and Lumine exited the "Wonderland" and headed to Komore Tea House to meet Thoma. Using a stealth domain to avoid detection by the Shogunate forces, they escorted Thoma to the outskirts of Inazuma City.
Nolan then manipulated the wind element to create an updraft, assisting everyone in gliding toward the Kamisato Estate using Wind Gliders.
Thanks to his current abilities, what would have taken most of the day by boat was reduced to less than an hour. If not for the Wind Gliders' structural limits, he could have been even faster.
The group landed at the gates of the Kamisato Estate, where they discovered another "Teleport Waypoint." Lumine promptly activated it before following Thoma into the estate.
Here Too Are Shogunate Soldiers Guarding the Kamisato Estate,
However, these soldiers weren't part of the Tenryou Commission enforcing the "Vision Hunt Decree" but rather belonged to the Shuumatsuban under the Yashiro Commission. Therefore, they wouldn't apprehend Thoma.
That said, Thoma still had to explain the presence of Nolan and his companions.
After all, if they turned out to be assassins, that would be a major problem.
"They're friends invited by the lady to help with some tasks. Go and inform the lady, and you'll see," Thoma said with a polite smile to the soldiers of the Yashiro Commission.
As the retainer of the Kamisato family, Thoma was well-acquainted with the soldiers guarding the estate. Precisely because they were familiar with each other, he knew that standard procedures couldn't be skipped. Mistakes could cost them their jobs, and Thoma certainly wouldn't let his comrades face unnecessary difficulties.
"Understood, Thoma. Wait here. I'll report to the lady right away," one of the soldiers at the gate said, leaving to deliver the message while the other remained on duty.
Thoma struck up a conversation with the remaining guard.
Since he had been away on Narukami Island for several months, he needed to catch up on the Kamisato family's recent happenings.
"There haven't been any major incidents with the Yashiro Commission lately, except that the Commissioner is currently away on official business and hasn't returned yet," the soldier informed him.
"Oh, that's unfortunate. It seems you won't have the chance to meet our Commissioner for now," Thoma said with a slight nod before turning to Nolan and the others.
"The Commissioner of the Yashiro Commission—that's Kamisato Ayaka's elder brother, Kamisato Ayato, right? We heard about him in Inazuma City. He's someone highly praised by the citizens," Paimon said with a bright smile.
"Haha, that's because the Master and the Lady have managed the Yashiro Commission exceptionally well!" Thoma replied with a laugh.
At that moment, the soldier who had gone to report returned. He nodded at Nolan and the group, saying, "The lady confirmed that she invited you all. Thoma can now take you inside."
"Thanks for the trouble. Let's go in," Thoma said to the soldier before turning to Nolan and the others.
The group nodded lightly and followed Thoma into the Kamisato Estate. They walked along the small paths, past the outer courtyard, and then through a corridor leading to the grand main doors of the estate.
Here, two more soldiers were stationed.
This time, there was no need for further announcements. Recognizing Thoma and his guests, the soldiers promptly opened the doors and let them in.
Inside was the main headquarters of the Yashiro Commission.
As they stepped in, Nolan noticed that the headquarters wasn't as large as he had imagined. This might have been because a large folding screen at the front blocked part of the view.
"Welcome, esteemed guests, to the Kamisato Estate, which also serves as the headquarters of the Yashiro Commission," Thoma said with a warm smile.
"Mm-hmm! By the way, where is the 'Shirasagi Himegimi' we're supposed to meet?" Paimon asked, nodding happily before tilting her head in curiosity.
Ahem, ahem."
At the exact moment Paimon posed her question, two soft coughs came from behind the folding screen.
"A girl's voice… behind the screen?" Lumine's pale face showed a hint of confusion.
"Apologies. Unlike the Commissioner, the young lady of the Yashiro Commission customarily receives guests in this manner. It has been a longstanding tradition of the Yashiro Commission, and I hope you'll understand," Thoma said, scratching the back of his head in explanation.
"So that's how it is. What a disappointment," Nolan said, his face showing a hint of regret.
