Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 291: 291. The Queen Is So Beautiful

At this moment, he was holding a glass in his hand, and behind him stood his sommelier, Lancel Lannister.

His Majesty the King always had wine in his hands. Anyway, he drank when he was thirsty, drank when he was tired, drank when he was happy, and drank when he was in a bad mood.

After so many years, he was used to it.

After taking another sip of the fine wine from Qingting Island, His Majesty the King twisted his fat buttocks in the lower seat, looked at Ed with a wine glass in his hand, and frowned.

"starfire city? Where is that? How come I've never heard of it...?"

Ed shook his head. "I had never heard of this country before I met Lord Easter, but it must be very far from Westeros—otherwise, Lord Easter wouldn't have come from there. he brings a lot of wonderful goods that Westeros has never seen before."

"Wonderful goods?" Cersei was slightly interested. "Is it Lord Easter who brought the soap that was popular in King's Landing some time ago?"

"—Soap?"

The king blinked. "I remember that kid Renly held a banquet and gave me a lot of it."

"Yes, Your Majesty. Soap, white paper, and gel pens all come from the shop of Lord East. It's said that even merchants from the Free Cities across the Narrow Sea have come to purchase his goods."

Ed Stark nodded, his face still as stern as always. "Your Majesty, if you have time, please meet with this Lord East. He has some unique gifts that he would like to present to you, the queen, and the princes and princesses in person."

Hearing that there were unique gifts, King Robert became a little interested. Of course, it was mainly because he was bored sitting here. For Ed's sake, Robert didn't mind meeting Earl Jason East.

"Bring him here—"

With the king's order, Ed bowed his head slightly, then asked his eldest son, Robb, to go out and invite Lord Jason to come in.

In the courtyard outside the hall, Jason Liu had been waiting for more than twenty minutes—but this was nothing. After all, he was hoping to see the king. Without the help of the Stark family, a foreign noble like him would have found it difficult to gain an audience with His Majesty.

He didn't mind waiting a little longer.

Before long, the heroic Robb came out of the hall in a black cashmere sweater with a smile on his face.

"Lord Jason, please come with me. His Majesty the King has agreed to meet with you!"

"Thank you!" Jason Liu smiled gratefully, then instructed Dicken, Kent to wait outside and followed Robb into the hall of Stark's house.

Upon entering the hall, Jason Liu immediately saw Robert Baratheon, the king himself, sitting atop the high steps.

Emmmm... so fat!

He seriously suspected the Game of Thrones TV series had glorified Robert—he looked even fatter than the actor from the show.

Jason Liu quickly glanced at King Robert's bulging belly, and the corners of his mouth twitched. However, his expression remained unchanged as he walked forward with a serious and respectful look.

In just a few short steps, Jason Liu avoided eye contact with anyone else.

He walked to the center of the hall.

Jason Liu immediately placed one hand on his chest and bowed to His Majesty the King seated high above.

"To Their Majesties, the King and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros—Robert Baratheon and the Baratheon family!"

Everyone in the hall turned their eyes toward the young man in a tall, crisp white medal dress. The courtiers from King's Landing were quietly surprised by the youth of the Earl of Starfire City.

Queen Cersei held her hands folded before her, her pale green eyes glancing lazily at Lord East, who was saluting below. Her flawless, pale face remained expressionless, maintaining the regal composure of a queen.

A foreign earl was beneath Her Majesty's notice. If not for the usefulness of something like soap, Cersei wouldn't have even looked his way.

Prince Joffrey gave the young earl a single glance before turning his attention away, sitting beside his mother with a look of impatience.

Joffrey would have clapped the dust off his cloak and stormed out of the hall with his hound Sandor Clegane, if not for the obligation to display royal manners before the Guardians of the North.

King Robert leaned back in his wide chair, his large body nearly overflowing the seat. When he saw the foreign earl introduced by Ed bowing to him, Robert tossed his wine glass to the sommelier behind him. A startled Lancel Lannister scrambled to catch it.

"Earl Jason East, eh, I know who you are..."

King Robert, impatient with formalities, didn't think a mere foreign noble warranted much courtesy. As King of Westeros, he cut straight to the point.

"Ed says you've got a unique gift for me? Then spare me the boring formalities and just bring it out!"

Ed's mouth twitched slightly. This willful and rude king was beyond help.

However, the nobles who had followed the king from King's Landing didn't care about his crudeness. They were used to it.

When His Majesty Robert was displeased, he often pointed straight at ministers' noses and cursed at them in court.

Now, the fact that the king was even willing to meet this foreigner calmly was already quite rare.

Jason Liu bowed once more and stood up, his eyes sweeping across the hall.

Aside from the king, the first person to draw his attention was, of course, Queen Cersei seated at the head of the dais.

Well, beyond Jason Liu's expectations, the thirty-year-old Queen Cersei had flawless pale skin, a straight nose, pale green eyes, and long, soft, golden curls. She wore a golden headpiece—truly stunning.

Lady Catelyn was already a rare beauty, but compared to Queen Cersei, she seemed slightly lacking.

If not for the fact that Cersei already had three children, Jason Liu would have thought this famed beauty of the Seven Kingdoms was only twenty years old.

The TV series really couldn't compare—the actors looked far worse than the real people.

Next to her sat the fair-skinned, blonde-haired, and strikingly handsome Prince Joffrey. He wore a fine tunic embroidered with gold and had a sword named Lionheart hanging at his waist.

Joffrey noticed Jason Liu looking his way. The young prince immediately raised his chin and looked down on him with proud arrogance, his boyish face filled with disdain.

Jason Liu met Joffrey's gaze briefly. He had no intention of provoking the prince's notorious cruelty. Instead, he offered a calm and courteous smile, nodded, and smoothly moved his eyes along.
