Chapter 47: New Daimyo, Koyuki
After the fight, I found Koyuki crying tears of relief, the weight of her struggles finally lifted. Her path was now clear, and she was free from her uncle's control. I approached her and embraced her tightly. "Koyuki, you're the new Daimyo of the Land of Snow. What are you going to do now?" I asked gently.
Wiping away her tears, she replied with newfound determination, "I'm going to be a good Daimyo, one who makes the people happy. And I'll also continue my acting career."
"But first," she added, "let's go to the place where the hexagon pendant can be used as a key."
Without hesitation, I scooped her up in a princess carry and sprinted toward the location where the tall, glass-like monuments stood. There, at the center, was a device designed to hold the pendant. As we placed the hexagon pendant into the slot, a transformation began. The snow blanketing the land started to melt, revealing vibrant greenery beneath, as if spring had finally returned to this place after many long years.
Slowly but surely, the Land of Snow blossomed into the Land of Spring, a testament to Koyuki's resilience and her father's dream finally coming true.
With the Land of Snow now transformed into the Land of Spring, the air was filled with a sense of renewal and hope. Dato and his defeated subordinates were promptly captured and escorted to be thrown into jail. As the guards prepared to take them away, I stepped forward and spoke up, "Leave Fubuki here. Take the others to jail."
My words caused a ripple of surprise among those present, but they didn't question my decision and complied, leaving Fubuki behind while the others were led away to face their punishment. Now, standing alone with Fubuki, I turned to face her, wondering if there was a way to resolve the situation differently.
I glanced at Fubuki, who was still unconscious, and began healing her wounds. As I worked, Koyuki's confused voice broke the silence. "Why are you healing her?" she asked, clearly puzzled by my actions.
"You need a bodyguard," I explained, "and you're still recovering. You also need someone to help you become stronger. In this world, strength is necessary to accomplish anything. So, I'm making her your bodyguard and a teacher who can train you to become a ninja."
Koyuki's eyes widened in shock. "What?!" she exclaimed, clearly not expecting this turn of events.
"Why her?" Koyuki asked, still uncertain.
"Because I can't trust those power-hungry men," I replied. "Even if I can't fully trust all females, I can at least get a sense of whether someone is trustworthy, and I think she is, even if she is a bit arrogant."
I continued, "Anyway, we'll be leaving for Konoha soon. After that, you'll need to take care of the Land of Snow. You have your acting career too, but for now, take a break from acting for a few months to focus on managing the village and training."
Having healed Fubuki, I knew she would regain consciousness soon. As expected, after a few minutes, she stirred awake. "What happened to me? Where am I?" she asked, disoriented.
"You're in the Daimyo's house hall," I explained. "You were unconscious, but I healed you."
She turned to me, confusion evident on her face, clearly unsure of my intentions.
"Don't overthink it," I said plainly. "I have a job for you. Are you willing to take it or not? If you refuse, then you'll be sent to jail."
"No… No, I don't want to go to jail! Whatever your job is, I'll do it," she replied hurriedly, her tone desperate.
"Nothing too complicated," I said to Fubuki. "You just need to protect Koyuki and help her become stronger through training."
She considered it for a moment, then, realizing she didn't have much choice, let out a sigh. "Okay."
"Good," I replied. "Starting tomorrow, you need to behave properly. No more arrogance. Remember, there are plenty of people in this world stronger than you, so act with respect."
With that settled, we took care of the final arrangements in the Land of Snow.
The next day, Koyuki Kazahana was officially announced as the new Daimyo of the Land of Snow. The people, many of whom recognized her as Yukie Fujikaze, were thrilled and eagerly sought her autograph. She took the time to hold an autograph session, connecting with her people and embracing her new role.
Once she was free from her duties, I took her on a tour around the Land of Snow, which felt like a date, just the two of us. As we wandered, I shared my dreams and a bit more about myself. She looked at me with a sincere gaze and said, "Naruto, you're my savior, and now you mean everything to me. I don't mind if you have other girlfriends in the future; I'll always love you." Then, without warning, she kissed me passionately. At first, I was caught off guard, but I soon found myself lost in the moment, responding to her affection.
After a long kiss, we finally parted. I held her close and said, "Koyuki, I'll visit you at least once a week. Take care of yourself, and be good to everyone. Don't act so cold." She nodded as I hugged her tightly.
Before we left, I set a seal in the Daimyo's residence, allowing me to use the Flying Raijin Jutsu to teleport there whenever necessary.
"Goodbye, Koyuki," I said, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Goodbye, Naruto. Goodbye, Sakura, Sasuke, and Kakashi. Take care!" she called out as we prepared to leave.
"Bye, Koyuki," the others echoed, bidding her farewell.
With that, we made our way back to the Leaf Village. After a few days of travel, we returned to Konoha and submitted the mission report with all the details.
With the mission officially complete, we each headed home to rest and recover for a few days.
