Chapter 8: S1 E8 - LHS-1361
A thin strand of light stretched across the pitch black warehouse, if the target was here they were well hidden. Kilo drew his sidearm along with a flashlight then began to sweep the warehouse. Rows upon rows of shelves filled with old crates formed countless corridors and hidden compartments. The blinding flashlight seemed so dim in the vast darkness with only distant shelves being illuminated.
It would take forever to sweep the building to find the target and even longer if they moved, it was almost overwhelming. Kilo silently moved through the warehouse closely listening for anything suspicious. The silence was almost deafening as his ears started to ring until he heard it, light creaks along with metallic dings echoing over the warehouse. The sounds were inconsistent making it difficult to zero in on the location, Kilo back tracked multiple rows of shelves before finding himself within the correct zone.
Hoping whatever was making the sound didnt notice the flashlight he slowly approached the sounds with his sidearm trained in the same direction. A deafening bang rung out from the sound while sparks flew out from the large pillar between shelves, blinding lights flickered to life shortly after stunning Kilo for brief moments.
"I-It actually worked, and they told me it was hopeless." A strange voice celebrated their victory before turning around to see Kilo with his weapon trained on him. "Well shit."
The man quickly switched expressions as he realised the deadly threat standing before him.
"Slide me your sidearm!" Kilo commanded making sure the target didnt have any means of inflicting harm.
They slowly pulled their weapon out of the holster ensuring to keep the muzzle away from Kilo, with a slight push the weapon scraped along the ground being stopped by Kilo's boot.
"Turn around and get on your knees with hands behind your back, I will drop you if you try to run!" Kilo once again commanded, he thought the target was smart for following his instructions until they bolted.
A light blue bolt of plasma shot through the targets leg instantly dropping them to the ground in agonising pain, they thought they could run, that they could dodge the fire, instead they earned a seared hole in their leg.
Kilo handcuffed them before treating the wound to the best of his poor abilities with the basic supplies on him.
Onlce the bleeding had stopped Kilo proceeded to drag them through the tunnels, through the outskirts of the market as life forms curiously glanced at the scene before finally arriving at the authorities hand over point.
"He tried to run" Kilo's eerily simple cold reply slightly freaked the guards out when they asked about the targets injury but were thankful they were brought in breathing.
The credits earned covered part of his ships repair cost while allowing for basic supplies and accommodation for the remaining few days before his ship was expected to be operational once again.
