After apologizing to his companion, Chen Ying took Jinya and Little Jin into his own tent.

"How did you two get over here?"

"Awooooo, we were worried about you being here alone. Would those two-legged beasts bully you?"

"No, they won't, I appreciate your concern, Jinya."

Chen Ying scratched Jinya's chin, feeling comforted in his heart.

"We're planning to go up the mountain in a couple of days to see Jinya's brother."

"Brother Ying, don't you have four leopards over there? This one..."

Chen Ying picked up the binoculars and carefully searched the area, spotting fresh claw marks on a tree at a nearby cliff.

"These claw marks were left by a leopard. It looks like it tried to prey on the monkey, and after the monkey was bitten, it fell into the pool."

As for why the leopard didn't follow into the water to drag the monkey out and eat it, it's possible its behavior angered the troop, and the other monkeys drove it away with attacks from a distance.

The messy remains of the fruit here seemed to prove his speculation.

A familiar voice rang out; Chen Ying looked up to see the couple of White-collared Kingfishers.

"What are you two doing here? Did you see the monkeys?"

The tattoo-armed young man's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked back and forth between Chen Ying and the two little birds.

With a gesture from Chen Ying, the two birds flew down and perched on his arm.

"They're over there in the woods, guarding that four-legged beast. It looks just like the ones you raise."

The monkey troop guarding the Flower Leopard?

Chen Ying sucked in a breath of cold air and gave the tattoo-armed young man a glance before decisively waving him away.

It wasn't long before Xia Sen and Duanmu, as well as Old Gao, came over.

The stern young man stayed at the emergency station to accompany Xiao Song.

"It's very likely that the Flower Leopard bit the monkey, and while the others were trying to save their companion, the injured monkey accidentally fell into the water and drowned. The monkeys were attacked by the Golden Eagle, and their formation was thrown into disarray.
