Chapter 384: Organizational structure changes
"Epic chest… really?" Fang Chen muttered, his voice almost choking in his throat. His chest pounded hard, excitement blazing like fire in his mind. How could simply entering Lord Lein's artificial realm trigger a legendary quest like this?
"This is it—my golden opportunity! Where is it?" Fang Chen spoke to himself, his eyes glinting with determination. He immediately scanned his surroundings carefully, trying to pinpoint the right direction to begin his exploration. He didn't want to waste a single second of this rare chance.
On the other side of the plain, a woman with a cold demeanor stood still. Her long black dress swayed gently in the wind, enhancing her aura of mystery. Yet, her cold expression had been replaced by a look of surprise. Her lips parted slightly as if trying to comprehend something inexplicable.
"A legendary quest?" she whispered softly, almost like a murmur to herself. Her eyes were fixed on the glowing blue panel hovering before her. Awe filled her mind. "Who is this Lord, really? Could he be… a god?" she thought, her gaze blank as it remained locked on the panel.
The woman, like Fang Chen, had received the same notification. The blue panel stated that she had entered the Sacred Land and could begin exploring to uncover treasures.
None of this escaped Lein's observation. His divine awareness roamed throughout the dream realm he had created, monitoring the activities of every individual within. From high above, Lein watched them with a mixture of confusion and amusement.
"Damn, how did people with these systems end up as staff in my shop?" Lein thought to himself. His gaze was sharp, but a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. With his divine awareness, he could see that there were more than seven individuals like Fang Chen who possessed similar systems. Experience tales with empire
Lein realized these people considered the artificial realm he created to be a Sacred Land. "Could this system have some sort of special approach for benefactors like me?" he mused narcissistically. He chuckled softly, entertained by the situation.
However, Lein didn't dwell on it for long. After all, there was no danger to be concerned about. Every aspect of the realm he created was entirely under his control.
He shifted his attention back to the elders and supervisors standing before him. His gaze swept over them one by one, a small smile gracing his face.
"You have all exceeded my expectations. You've carried out your duties admirably," Lein said in a calm yet firm voice. His words felt like a cool breeze, rejuvenating the spirits of the elders and supervisors. They bowed respectfully, some of them looking at him with expressions of reverence.
Lein had indeed placed significant responsibilities on them to ensure the shop ran smoothly. To support them, Lein had enhanced their abilities using divine promotion elixirs. The elders would become grandmasters, and the supervisors would attain Master status.
"Alright, let's begin the internal meeting," Lein said, clapping his hands softly.
Lein then rearranged the seating of the elders into a more orderly structure. Once everything was ready, a large holographic panel appeared in the center. Its blue light reflected gently on everyone's faces, though for now, the screen remained blank.
"First, I want all the elders to compile the shop's sales reports and submit them to Lady Fatmawati later," Lein said seriously.
He added that the shop's sales analysis would be conducted with the expertise of scientists from the Divine Sky Realm. This process would simplify strategic decision-making and help boost the shop's sales. This decision was also made to ensure that all necessary data would be fully available, with Lady Fatmawati overseeing the data collection process.
"Understood, Lord!" the elders responded in unison. They were not surprised by the instructions, as they had been ordered to prepare regular reports from the start. Compiling the requested data was not a difficult task.
"Next, I want to reorganize the shop's structure to make it more systematic, including its leadership hierarchy," Lein continued, scanning the faces of the elders and supervisors with a sharp gaze.
Some elders and supervisors exchanged glances. Their minds were filled with concern. The supervisors enjoyed their current positions and all the benefits they received. The same was true for the elders, who also gained significant advantages. If a restructuring truly occurred, could their positions be at risk?
Seeing the doubt and anxiety clearly reflected on their faces, Lein smiled faintly. "You don't need to worry. Your positions will not be downgraded because of this restructuring," he said, his voice steady and reassuring.
Lein then explained, "The new organizational structure will include a single main headquarters. This headquarters will exist only one per realm."
Hearing this, the elders' eyes lit up. Their expressions revealed both enthusiasm and ambition. However, the gleam of joy was soon replaced by sharp glances of competition. They realized that in the Guandu Realm alone, there were more than 80 elders. If only one person were to be chosen as the leader of the headquarters, the competition for the position would be fierce and intense.
"The leader will be chosen from among you, the 80 elders," Lein said in a calm yet decisive tone. His gaze swept the room, observing each elder seated in neat rows. Though he showed no specific preference, Lein gave the impression that he was carefully evaluating them. To him, they were all loyal individuals who had proven their dedication, yet they still had to compete healthily.
For a moment, the room was filled with light murmurs of discussion among the elders. They exchanged glances, some with confident smiles, others with thoughtful expressions. Meanwhile, the supervisors seated in the back rows appeared more relaxed. After all, this decision would not directly affect them.
"Additionally, aside from the main headquarters, I also plan to establish five branch offices in each realm. These positions will also be led by elders," Lein explained. His tone was casual, but each word he spoke carried weight and authority. His gaze swept the room again, capturing glimpses of the elders who were beginning to consider this new competition. The atmosphere in the room shifted, the air growing warmer with the quiet yet palpable spirit of rivalry emanating from them.
Lein paused briefly, giving the elders time to process the information. "Any questions?" he asked, his gaze moving across the elders one by one, ensuring they fully understood his intent.
Several hands were immediately raised, but Lein's attention focused on an elder seated at the end of the row. The man's face radiated wisdom, and his calm demeanor made him stand out. "Go ahead," Lein said with a slight nod.
"I have a question, Lord," the elder began in a respectful yet firm tone. "Is there any possibility for individuals outside the human race to take part in the shop's organizational body?"
The question prompted several other elders to nod in agreement. It seemed many shared similar thoughts but had hesitated to voice them. Lein observed them calmly, making them feel assured that their thoughts would not be dismissed.
"Why do you ask that?" Lein responded, his tone still casual, though there was a subtle curiosity behind his words.
"Well… I mean no disrespect, Lord," the elder replied cautiously. "However, I have a few friends at the grandmaster level from the Guandu race. They've expressed great interest in becoming part of our seed shop. In fact, they are willing to pay an entrance fee for the opportunity."
The room fell silent for a moment. The elder continued honestly, "I didn't give them any answer at the time, Lord. I simply asked them to wait for your decision. That's why I felt it necessary to raise this question now."
Lein sat calmly in his chair, gazing at the man while gently tapping the table with his fingers. After pondering for a moment, he finally spoke. "For now, it's not allowed," he said, his voice flat but authoritative. "Unless they have something interesting enough to capture my attention."
Some elders appeared surprised, while others began to contemplate the meaning behind Lein's statement. Internally, Lein grinned widely. "This could be an incredibly profitable opportunity," he thought. "If these positions are hard to obtain, their value will only increase. And the higher the price, the greater the profit."
"Next, supervisors will no longer be directly responsible for overseeing individual shops," Lein said firmly but calmly. His gaze swept across the room, ensuring everyone was listening attentively. "From now on, they will take part in the operations of the main headquarters or branch offices. Meanwhile, the basic seed shops will be managed by new personnel who will be recruited soon." Lein gestured toward the large holographic panel in the center of the room, where an illustration of the new task allocation and organizational structure was clearly displayed.
An elder seated in the front row raised his hand, hesitating before speaking. "Excuse me, Lord, I'd like to ask. Has the portal been connected?" he asked, his face full of curiosity. Hope was evident in his eyes, like a traveler hearing news of a long-awaited road home.
Lein nodded slightly. "Yes, the portal has been created," he replied in a calm but reassuring tone. "Furthermore, we are also likely to establish cooperation with the Guandu realm." Lein paused for a moment, recalling Aleron, who was still in the Divine Sky Realm.
Glancing at the clock in the corner of the holographic panel, Lein silently calculated the time. He hoped the meeting wouldn't drag on too long, given the many other matters awaiting his attention.
