Firm: Opal’s Story

Chapter 171

Opal’s Hellbitch body

“Okay grandma, they’re all out.” I hear from the room behind me, and look back to see the women that came with me preparing their weapons. I smile and turn back to the assaulting orcs, blocking a fireball that was aimed to launch into the room. I respond “I guess no one here has a cleaning skill?” I hear a lot of negatives from them, and continue “Alright, I need someone with ranged skills to stay with me here, but everyone else can get to the fighting. Try to stay close to this building, but other than that, have fun.” I need to stay here since the women that were in the pillories are still weak and level 1.

The 5th tier that came with us decides to stay here with me, as long as I let her kill some of the orcs I have stuck in tendrils. I agree of course, it will be a lot safer for her behind me than to go out and risk it at her tier. My 7th tier granddaughter takes control of the other three 6th tiers and they quickly leave the building, taking out a few orcs out of my range right away. The 5th tier staying behind has Healer for her second class, so we should be able to keep the enslaved women healthy while the fighting continues.

A dagger flies from behind me and strikes an orc caught by my skill before disappearing, flying from behind me again and striking another. “Hey mom, there’s a human in the back who has some levels, but she’s still passed out. So we couldn’t tell what tier she was at.” She says before flinging her dagger again. It’s an interesting way to fight, and I’m not too interested in the passed out human. It’s not like I can talk to a sleeping person, so I ask instead “Is it a skill that lets you get your dagger back after it hits enemies?” I block another orc trying to get past me and into the room.

She answers “Nope, it’s a bonus from my Special class. Anything I throw at an enemy returns to my hand after dealing damage. Sadly I found out it doesn’t work if no damage is dealt. So if it gets blocked by a shield or I miss, I have to go pick it up like normal.” Remembering her name, I say “That’s pretty cool Noir. I think I have a few daggers from chests that none of us use. You can look through them when you have the time and take the ones you want.” I figured she might not get a lot of time in dungeons since she’s still 5th tier, and she responds “I’ll stop by tomorrow mom, but my current daggers are pretty good.”

Another orc gets killed by a flying dagger to the skull. I remember back when I first named my kids, the ones with Firm got named based on gemstones, and the ones without usually got color names. Jessica was a bit of an exception since Ruby hadn’t had any kids yet and asked to name her sister. Looking back at how simple it used to be to come up with names reminds me of my more active life now. Well, I still don’t like to do complicated stuff, but I can understand what I’m doing more now. Back then the names just came to me, and I didn’t know I was naming them after stones or colors. Citrine and Cindy have been a big help teaching me what some of the stuff I know is.

“Miss dagger thrower, is there something we can do to help?” I hear from another voice behind me, and Noir answers “With your levels it will be impossible to do much against these orcs, but don’t worry. They’re no match for everyone that came, and you’ll be able to level and get stronger once we get you out of here. If you want to help now, make sure the women that are passed out are put into more comfortable positions.” Looking back briefly I see that many of the level 1 elves are standing around looking lost. I add “If you took Mage class and have fireball, feel free to shoot it out the entrance. It can feel good to do something even if it won’t do damage.”

I tear off my shirt and toss it back too, telling them “Use this to help wipe yourselves off.” I’d toss them my shorts, but they’re harder to get off and I don’t exactly have the extra time to take off my shoes. These clothes are cheap, and they’re all naked anyways so they won’t mind me baring my breasts. The next time I manage to look back, Noir is topless as well, and I show her my thumb up. My kids are nice to people most of the time from what I can tell, but it’s nice to see in action too. I have a lot of children now, so I don’t see Noir or a lot of her siblings often unless they decide to come visit me. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have thousands of bodies so I could keep up with them all, but then I think about how complicated it would be.

I would probably do it anyways if I could. Sadly it’s not really an option right now. My Special class option costs way too much, and hoping for the random chance at an extra body being born when I’m pregnant is really unlikely. As it is now, all I can do is give the ones who seem to want to be around me time. That’s usually the people I’m married to, with some of my other kids visiting me sometimes. Morgan is one of my newer kids who has spent a lot of time visiting me, which always feels nice. I assume some of my kids would like me to visit, but there are so many of them that I just don’t have the time to figure out who unless they tell me or make an effort.

I’m brought out of my thoughts by a few fireballs flying past me and hitting a couple struggling orcs. They don’t seem to take any damage, but I hear cheers from the elves behind me. I smile and hope they can get some experience once the orc dies to my passive damage or Noir’s daggers. We won’t get much from it, but it will probably give the tier 1 level 1 elves a few levels. Over the next hour there are only a few more fireballs. It must be tough having almost no mana. If they were my kids they’d have more boosts to their regeneration, but they aren’t so they’re stuck only being able to toss a few out.

Over this time, I’ve heard the fighting from the rest of the camp slowly getting closer. I know from my body in Jessica’s office that they’ve already captured the doppel thing. It died when they captured it just like the two I’ve encountered before. Well the first one seemed to die from cumming too much, but it could have been related somehow. Probably. It’s been slow going taking out all the orcs since there are just so many of them, and they’re almost all above 4th tier. Oh that’s right, Noir doesn’t have another body getting updates.

I say to my daughter behind me “Everyone in the other groups is doing well, and they haven’t found any 7th tiers yet. Jessica says that based on what they’re seeing, we may be fighting for a few more hours.” It’s not as long as when we freed ourselves in Liberation, but we have higher tiers than the orcs this time, with nobody from the party being unable to fight at all. Even our 4th tiers are getting a lot of kills on the lowest tier orcs. Last time, most of us couldn’t fight since they didn’t have any levels. The only exceptions for those at level 1 were my kids that had Firm. Thinking back on it now, I don’t think it’s as strong in the higher tiers.

Comparatively of course. It still gets stronger with every tier, but I think enemies with more skills offset it’s effectiveness. I think that’s why my Archer granddaughter was able to pass up her mother by working hard. Firm is great for keeping people alive at lower tiers though. Noir responds “Thanks for the update mom, is it alright if I take a break to go pee?” I forget that other Players have to do stuff like that sometimes, so I tell her she can. I can cover the entrance by myself anyway. I hear one of the elves telling her where to find the small room in the back that the orcs used for a bathroom.

A minute later I hear a really loud scream from behind me that sounds like my daughter. I cover the entrance with tendrils and run to the room in the back where I heard it. Standing there is Noir with her shorts around her ankles and a dagger in her hand. I don’t see anything that would have made her scream, but she looks scared so I ask “Sweetie what happened?” She blushes and points at a corner of the small, bad smelling room. I don’t see anything scary, but she responds “Go guard the entrance mom, I just really don’t like spiders.” I look again and sure enough there’s a little non-monster spider. It scared my daughter and worried me, so the System labels it my enemy and it burns up almost instantly.

I quickly take off my shoes and shorts, handing them to my daughter and saying “You can use these sweetie, you got yours wet.” She looks down at her wet shorts and shoes, blushing even more. Noir takes my offered clothes and I run back to the entrance naked. It doesn’t look like anything got through while I was away, but one of the elves comes to me and says “Three of our sisters ran out of the building as soon as you left. I don’t know why they’d do that.” At almost the same time Morgan speaks up in Jessica’s office telling us “Three more just ran out of one of the big buildings. I’m pretty sure it’s where I saw mom enter an hour ago, and there are black tenticles around the front. They’re running in the opposite direction of the fighting.”

So some of the elves were dop things too? Citrine says “I see them. They shouldn’t have had any opportunities to level up in there, so I’ll take Morgan to deal with them once they leave the camp.” I think about it, and if they were disguised as elves when they were born, then they’d be stuck in the pillories just like the Players. I understand her waiting until after they leave the camp too, since she’s carrying Morgan and doesn’t want to risk running into a higher tier orc. I calm the elf who told me about them leaving “It will be alright. I have someone who’s going to deal with them.”

We’re getting less orcs attacking the entrance. Probably because the fighting from everyone else is getting closer. A few minutes later Citrine speaks up in Barrier again saying “Okay those three are down. They committed suicide like the others. I wonder if they’re afraid we’ll get important information out of them if they don’t.” Oh, is that what you call them dying for no reason. I’ll have to remember the term when talking about them to everyone later. Once the orc camp is clear, Jessica and I will be filling everyone here in on the threat. Of course they won’t be able to tell other people until we can clear all of our Land, but maybe someone will have another idea to add to mine for how to get rid of them.

A couple hours later

The orcs have stopped coming to the breeding structure, but I can still hear fighting in the distance. There’s an ear piercing squeal and Jessica tells my other body “Mom, we found a seventh tier and he is pretty tough. We need you to come tank it for us.” I immediately leave the structure and turn to the roof telling my 7th tier Archer granddaughter “They’re fighting a strong one, have everyone else cover the entrance here and come with me.” I then pause and tell the others “Don’t let anyone leave while I’m gone. I’ll tell you why later.”

It doesn’t take the two of us long to find where everyone else is fighting.

There I see Amber swinging her large ax at an orc with spikes covering his body. While she’s in melee with the strange thing, others are trying to hit it from a distance. It’s moving much faster than I would have expected though, and when it does take a hit, the spikes on it’s body seem to help block any major damage. If Amber were higher level in her primary class, I’m sure she could easily take the thing out herself though. My granddaughter shoots arrows at it while I run up next to the thing and my wife. As I start flanking it with her, Amber yells “It’s spikes are poisoned!”

Ah, so that’s why she isn’t just grabbing the thing. Well I haven’t found a poison that affects me yet, so I hop on it’s spiky back, and get a few holes in me for doing so. It lurches forward from my weight and squeals again. I grab one of it’s arms from behind, getting myself some more holes. I’m surprised it can pierce my skin so easily, but it only hurts a little and isn’t doing much actual damage to my Health. My moves seem to have slowed it down enough, and hits start landing on it through the guarding spikes. I see a glowing arrow pierce the things neck right next to my head, and this is turning out to be a pretty exciting fight for me. It’s been a long time since anything I’ve fought has actually gotten through my skin. Most of the damage I’ve taken since getting to 7th tier has been from getting hit by trees carried by trolls.

That didn’t really hurt my skin either, just damaging my Health. I get interrupted from remembering what Cindy tried to tell me about internal damage by the spiky orc falling forward. It looks like Amber was able to chop off one of it’s legs. Not long after it falls, everything it was still able to dodge before gets through, and the orc finally dies. I’m pretty stuck on it’s spikes at this point though, so Amber helps pull me off of it. I feel the tingle of healing and see my Health rising again. “Don’t worry about my Health, it’s fine, focus on anyone else who was hurt.” I say, and the feeling stops. I really only took a little damage, even if I have a bunch of holes.

They are closing pretty fast, showing just how little they mean to my overall Health. I give Amber a kiss and tell her “I’ll head back to the pillories, let me know when you all finish your fighting out here.” She nods and says “Thanks for the assist wife, they were having to use a lot of mana keeping my Health up every time I got poisoned.” That makes sense, there are still a lot of orcs being fought, so it’s better to conserve the Healer’s mana.

I tell my 7th tier granddaughter that she can fight with everyone else, since the pillories don’t need as much guarding anymore. With the orcs in our area of the camp dried up, I’m sure she was getting bored. I head back to my post at the entrance of the building, where I’m told nobody tried to leave while I was gone. That’s probably a good sign, so I smile and wait for the others to finish.

“Thank you so much for saving us dear. These brutes have been nothing but horrible. I’m swearing off bacon for the rest of my life.” I hear from behind me, and look to see the human woman is awake now and talking to Noir. She looks and sounds a bit familiar now that someone has cleaned her up, but I can’t remember who she is. Well she’s not in the best shape still, and her long hair is really messy. I’m sure I’ll figure it out once Sapphire comes and cleans all of them.

“Did my husband or little Jeffery send you nice girls?”
