Firm: Opal’s Story

Chapter 123

It’s been a couple more days and we have finally made it to the 20th floor. I should be ready to give birth soon as well, but my belly won’t be an issue while fighting the boss. Probably. We open the doors to the boss room and hear a chime. The screen says it’s a Rare boss room, so we both freeze, remembering that the enemies for these floors have been orcs. Looking inside we are happy to see it’s not Arhu, it’s just a large orc with -Gurg, the Gluttonous Orc Chief- Lvl 45 above his head.

“He should still be 5th tier as the 20th floor Rare boss. I think we can take him safely.” Citrine says. Neither of us really expected it to be our previous tormentor, but it really is a huge relief for some reason. There isn’t a bed or anything else fancy in the room, so I don’t think this one wants to have sex with us for a challenge. As we step in the large orc squeals and says “Sows? Well it doesn’t matter, let me eat both of your legs and I’ll let you pass without a fight. You’ll even get your precious reward.” I look over at Citrine, since I’d rather fight, I shake my head. She agrees with her own nod and we quickly buff each other. I run forward as the Orc laughs saying “Great, now I can eat the whole thing. I haven’t eaten in forever!”

He tries to swat me with his large hand but when it connects I hear one of his finger bones crack. The orc squeals in pain, probably not knowing that I’m even harder to hurt when pregnant because of my skill Full of Pups. I got it a while ago, but I don’t usually fight things at the 5th tier while leveling. I do take a little damage, but it’s not really noticeable. Citrine takes the opportunity to cut at the orc with her large sword, managing to get a deep cut on the back of it’s leg. It squeals again, and I can see it start to lose it’s composure. I could probably just use Fertility Charm on it, killing it with safety, but that’s not fun. I also don’t think we’re in danger of losing. If the fight changes too much in his favor I’ll use it then.

He tries to jump at Citrine, but she flies up, the higher ceiling helping her stay out of reach. She won’t be able to cut him with her sword from up there, but I see her start to summon stuff using her highest tier class. It’s the class she uses for spawning, and it’s always had summons with the new tiers. We just haven’t used it much since there’s really no reason usually. I guess she wants to see what her newest one will do, so I hold the orc back from stopping the summoning. I stomp his foot and feel some more of his little bones break.

I feel a dry heat from behind me and look back to see my daughter’s newest summon -Mummy- Lvl 40. It’s too bad summons aren’t permanent like the statues. The statues all start out at level 1 and having one start out at 40 would be nice. “Okay mom, hold the boss if you can.” I hear Citrine yell from above, so I pivot past the orc’s swing and grab its arm. I then kick the back of its leg where her sword cut, and it falls forward. Unfortunately the orc catches its fall with a hand. The Mummy rushes forward and I jump onto the orc’s back. I doubt I can completely hold it down like this since it’s my small body, but I take the ring that makes me lighter off right before landing on the boss.

It lets out a piggy sound and falls the rest of the way onto its face. The Mummy gets to us then, and I make sure not to drop the ring. Her summon then bites the orc and starts wrapping it in weird cloth. I have to keep punching the boss as it tries to get up again, squealing wildly as its voice starts to go hoarse. I have to get out of the way of the cloth as it wraps around the orc a few times, but it’s not that hard and the orc has stopped moving after only a couple minutes. The Mummy keeps wrapping it up anyways, but I put my ring back on so I don’t lose it. Citrine lands next to me and give me a hug saying “Thanks mom, this mummy would probably be hard to use without something else to take agro. It’s a good thing I always have you with me, my cute little mom.” I wiggle and she laughs.

Her summon and the wrapped up orc finally disappear, so I guess it finally died. In it’s place is a Large red chest, so I tell her she can open it. She lets go of the hug and walks over to open it, pulling out a potion. She gets a disgusted look on her face before handing the potion to me and saying “Don’t drink it.” I nod and focus on it.

(Potion of the Orc)Consume to change your race to Orc. If female, sex will change to male.

Eww, who would want to use that? I hand it back to Citrine and she slams it into the ground, breaking it. I agree with her decision and nod when she looks at me. I say “That’s for the best. It’s too bad we didn’t get anything useful from a Rare boss, but at least it was a somewhat interesting fight.” I look around the room, but there really isn’t much here. I see a dirty mattress in a corner that I didn’t notice before, but there’s no way we’d take that. It’s gross.

I finally feel like I’m about to give birth so a stagger a bit and tell Citrine. She rushes to the exit for me and we show up outside. I ask Jett in the dungeon if he wants to come out and watch, but he shakes his head and says he’s more interested in levels for now. “I’ll be there when you give birth to my babies.” He says while smiling at me. I wiggle and finish off the lizardmen I stepped on. He should have his third class soon, so I’ll look forward to it.

I lay down in our living room here, and Citrine sits next to me. “I still wonder how you got pregnant from smashing orcs, and why is it only 2 babies? Don’t you usually have at least 30 elves?” She asks and I just shrug, since I don’t know why it’s so weird either. It took much longer than my other pregnancies too. I haven’t had to wait so long for a birth since I first had my frog babies. Oh well, I guess we’ll see if there’s anything different when the babies come out.

I start pushing and the first baby comes out, followed by a flash of light. I look down and there are two babies there somehow. “How are they angels?” I hear Citrine ask, and sure enough they are two identical looking babies with white wings and -Angel- Lvl 1 over their heads. That’s pretty strange, but I think it’s weirder that there are two of them, since I still feel like I have one to push out. Didn’t it say I only had two this time, and what was that flash of light? I start pushing again and it actually hurts this time.

Suddenly the pain goes away and I don’t need to push anymore, but there’s no new baby. As I’m laying there confused, I hear a chime and see a screen.

*Warning*

Unfair advantage detected.

Legendary Player races are not allowed at current stage.

Child will be held by System until birth is allowed.

Calculating compensation for parents…

Rewarded

Then there is a second screen.

Title earned

I check what the new title is, since I’m kind of confused about what just happened.

(New)(Legendary Parent)Resistance to fear effects from Legendary species and races

You have a child with a Legendary race. You are more resistant to Legends for it.

Well that sounds useful… I guess? I hear Citrine ask “Why is it saying I was compensated, is the compensation this new title… wait, I got you pregnant somehow didn’t I? The angel babies, getting a title for no reason. There are two of them though, and as far as I know angels aren’t a Legendary race.” Oh so she knows what that race thing meant, and she’s probably right about getting me pregnant now that I have time to think about it. It wouldn’t make sense for orcs to make angel babies. I’m still confused about the rest though, it said it was holding my baby until later?

I tell Citrine the rest of the screen I got, since it seems she only got the compensation part. “So the System is holding our baby until some later time because it would be unfair? What the fuck? Isn’t this whole thing unfair, and we can’t even see one of our babies yet? How is a title equal to taking our kid away?” I give her a big hug because she’s crying now. Now that she says it, I’m starting to get angry too. It’s taken my babies in dungeons, but it just gives them to me when I leave. How long will I have to wait to get my baby this time? Will it be grown up or will it be frozen like with dungeons?

The other babies start crying too, so we each pick one up and wipe away our own tears. There’s nothing I can do about it right now, so I should take care of the babies I can. They both stop crying at exactly the same time, and it makes me feel like I’m forgetting something. I think for a few minutes, but Citrine finally sighs and says “I think this baby got your skill that gives you an extra body. That’s why they seem so in sync and why it took a baby from us, but we still have two here.” Oh, that makes so much more sense than the weird ideas I was getting. “Okay, we’ll wait until she can talk just to make sure. For now we won’t name her, since it would be silly to give her two names when she’s only one person. If she isn’t though, then we can’t just name them both the same thing.” I say, but I’ll probably let Citrine name her, or them. She’s been wanting angel babies for a while.

“We really had babies together didn’t we? That’s so wild mom.” My angel daughter says. She pokes the baby in her arms in the nose and giggles before looking me in the eyes, telling me “I’ve decided, I want to ask Amber if I can have a relationship with you. You are the mother of my children now.” She then laughs a really happy sounding laugh, and I smile. This must be one of those different types of relationships, since I don’t feel the same as I do with Amber, or the way I feel with Ruby, but I’m still really happy with my angel daughter. “Okay Citrine, I’ll talk to Amber about it as soon as she gets back with Pearl. If you don’t have any milk, I can feed both babies at once.” I tell her and she blushes.

“I stopped lactating a couple months ago. So you’ll have to do it.” She says, passing over the other baby after I’ve pulled up my shirt. I decide to ask her more about why she wants a relationship and she tells me “I’ll be honest, I don’t feel romantic with you right now. I do love being with you all the time and I like… I like when we do sexual stuff together. Now that we’ve had babies together, I feel myself wanting your little body all to myself even more. It will probably be an odd relationship, where we pretty much just do what we’ve been doing already. I guess a relationship isn’t really needed… Let’s see what Amber says when she gets back. She’s probably better at this than me and would know what we should do. Sis has always been the best at this.” I nod, since Amber usually does most of the relationship thinking for me. I’m not very good at it either yet, so I know how it feels to want Amber’s help.

“They’ve finished eating sweetie, are they going to stay here with us for a while?” I ask, but Citrine shakes her head and says “We should ask them what they want once they’ve grown. This place isn’t really that great for much, and they’ll be able to do more and be more social at Opal’s Home.” So if they want to stay we’ll let them, but if they don’t we can take them to the Citadel. That makes sense. I know a lot of my kids and grandbabies don’t even like fighting, so it would be pretty boring here. Maybe if she is just one person, she’ll leave one here and go to Opal’s Home with the other.

I have bodies there too, so I can probably still see them if both go. I’ll see if she or they want to stay at our house there. I hand one of the sleeping babies over to her other mom and we sit there and chat, waiting for Amber to get back.
