16Chapter 1

Stephen Baratheon POV

Guilt stabbed in his heart as he paced across the corridor and heard yet another whimper of pain from inside the room.

'Please god, I've already lost two siblings because I wasn't good enough, please don't let me lose my sister as well.' He thought, not even knowing which god he was praying to.

The door of the room opened at that point and his father walked out with the old man who had claimed to be a medicinal practicioner from the Yi Ti Empire and promised to heal his sister.

The stern glare and the clenched fists of his father told him what had happened before the old man even shook his head in feigned sadness.

"There nothing I do my lord. Greyscale too advanced." The old man said in broken English (or Common Tongue as the people of this world called it) and in a Yi Tish accent. "Better give mercy. Save the child pain."

His teeth clenched in anger but before he could shout or scream at the old man, his father spoke. "Get out of my sight before my patience runs out."

The old man bowed and quickly strode out of the hallway.

As soon as the old man left, he approached his father and asked. "What now dad?"

Stannis Baratheon, the man who had bore through the starvation in Storms End for months on end stoically tried to give him a stern look but tiredness in his eyes and the quivering over his body informed him just how close he was to breaking.

"We wait Stephen." Stannis said softly before putting a hand on his shoulder and giving him a side hug. It was one of the rare times his father ever showed him any affection but he was too worried for his sister to care about that right now. "There must be someone out there capable of healing your sister. There must!"

Then his dad pulled away from him, and held him at arms length before gazing into his eyes. "Now, why don't you go along and join in your lessons with Maester Cresson?"

"I already completed my lessons." He said. Plus, he did not want to leave his sister alone. As painful as her pained cries and sobs were to hear, silence and not knowing what was going on would be far, far worse.

"Then… go out and tend to the horses. Maybe have Ser Brus Buckler take you out to the Port. Being cooped up in this castle can't be good for you."

He thought about arguing with his father for a moment but then took another look at his tired form and simply nodded. He'd never win an argument against his father anyway and knew there was no point to it.

He walked through the dark corridors of the Dragonstone castle before arriving at the courtyard where the knights and squires were sparring against one another.

"Ser Brus." He called out to one of the knights who was charged with protecting him whenever he left Dragonstone 'Not that Dragonstone turned out to be all that safe in the end with what happened to my sister'. He thought bitterly. "Father asked me to go to the Port. You are to come with me."

The knight looked disgruntled for a moment at his spar being disturbed before he reigned in his expression and gave a curt nod. "Right away young lord."

A few minutes later, their horses had been saddled and they rode down a winding path to the Port of Dragonstone that was about a quarter mile away from the main castle.

As he rode his horse, he took out what looked to be a spherical marble the size of a baseball from his pocket.

The marble was actually nothing but raw biomass made with his fledgling Shaper powers. Something that he'd managed to make with hours upon hours of practice.

He channeled his powers into the spherical biomass and sensed the living cells inside it. Cells that he had made last night. Red Blood Cells, White Blood cells, Stem cells, Nerve cells, Muscle cells, Cartilage cells, and many, many more.

'Can I heal my sister with my power?' He wondered as he went about turning some of the dead cells into a sludge of biomass that he then used to create brand new cells. Though he lost a bit of the biomass as a waste which was no longer useful and would need to be extracted and thrown out.

Despite his budding Shaper power, he had never sensed Greyscale in his life. And wasn't sure if the disease was mundane or magical.

Because if the disease was magical, then he doubted that his power will be able to heal Shireen.

Samwell Tarly managed to heal Ser Jorah Mormont in the show with mundane means. But that was the show. Where Arya fucking Stark defeated the Night King while every single one of his wights and Wight Walkers stood on the side and watched like dumb idiots.

This was the Book verse. And it was much less forgiving.

Regardless, his powers were not yet good enough to sense the biology of another person from a distance. And his parents had made sure to keep him well away from his own sister, in fear that he'll catch Greyscale as well.

It was one of the very few things in which both of his parents had been united.

Despite its fledgling nature, his power was anything but useless. He could heal a large wound in any part of a human's body. An infection that would've usually killed or crippled a person can be easily healed by him. He can also heal a plethora of diseases and flu. Those that he has had the time to study at least.

He can even turn an old person into a young person. A surgery like that would definitely take days if not weeks (a few hours everyday) but it was doable. He could slowly but surely change all the old cells, bones and organs inside a person's body into new ones.

Finding out that he had become good enough to reverse a person's age had been his crowning achievement so far. Even better than his ability to enhance his own muscles and make him 2-3 times stronger and faster than a normal child his age should be.

But at the end of the day, what use was his power if he couldn't save his own sister.

He had already lost two siblings to stillbirth a few years ago because his power was still not good enough at that time. He wasn't going to lose his sister as well.

'It's decided then.' He thought to himself. 'I'll give it one more week. If the Red Woman doesn't come by that time, then I'll find a way to sneak inside the room and try to heal Shireen myself. If I can save my sister from her suffering, then even if I catch Greyscale myself in doing so, it'll be worth it.'

"We're here young lord." Ser Brus Buckler said in his usual gruff voice, noticing that he was too lost in his own mind, or playing with his strange marble ball to pay attention to the path in front of him.

He looked up and realised that they'd indeed reached the port.

Now Dragonstone was not an impressive castle. Sure, its walls were high and mighty, and if properly garrisoned, it was capable of holding back an entire army. But the castle itself was dark and damp, and not at all suitable for raising a child.

Dragonstone Port was none of those things. It was bright, open, filled with shops, and the hustle and bustle of people who were here to sell their wares as well as the sailors who'd come to rest here after a long stay in the sea.

In the distance, he could see a part of the Royal Fleet resting in the harbour. Some of the same ships that'll be used in a year or two to crush the Iron Fleet, and with it, the Greyjoy Rebellion.

He secretly hoped that his presence hadn't butterflied that event away as well. It would be a disaster if the greatest thing is presence managed to achieve was the defeat of the Royal Fleet at the hands of the Iron Borns and the death of his own father.

'Don't think such dark thoughts.' He told himself as he spurred his horse and rode through the market of Dragonstone Port, looking for any stuff that he had yet to buy.

Stuff like unique spices, exotic woods, unknown vegetables, fruits, or even unknown animals brought from Southoryos, Summer Islands, or other such distant places.

Things that he could then study with his Shaper power. To increase his Knowledge base of biology and increase his power.

Not to mention that if he found a way to change the biological makeup of Goldenheart wood and find a way to grow it in the Island, then that alone would earn him thousands of gold dragons per tree, if not more.

Or he could learn how to grow Saffron (a stuff only grown in Yi Ti) and start his own Spice empire.

Or he could simply create some of the Golden Silk (once again from Yi Ti), a bolt of which was priced at 2,500 gold dragons the last time he'd seen one.

He could, in fact, copy the biology of the Golden Silk and create an exact replica in his room right now. But even if he ignored the fact that it'll take him days to make such a thing, the problem remained that he had no idea how to sell it. Or how to explain its sudden presence to his own parents.

Still, a day would come when he'll start his own business, and at that point, he'll be able to create and sell such exotic goods with ease.

He was suddenly brought out of his thoughts as he noticed something red in the distance.

No, not something, but someone clad in red dress.

He quickly rode forward, ignoring the shouts of Ser Brus Buckler as he arrived in front of the woman in red dress.

His breath hitched as he finally got a good look at her face and beheld her unnatural beauty.

Spoiler:Melisandre

The Melisandre from the show was to this woman, what a pox filled lame Donkey was to the mightiest of Stallions that rode in the Great Grass Sea.

The woman was as if a maiden come again, her voluptuous hips flaring out attracting gazes from any passerby, the swell of her ample breasts rather visible through her skin tight dress, those luscious red hair that seemed to glow with fire under the light to the sun. And the amused quirk on her thin red lips as the woman gazed back at him.

He gulped back his saliva, a bit dumbstruck by her awe-inspiring beauty.

But then his thoughts immediately came back into focus as he suddenly remembered why he was waiting for her arrival. And what this woman meant to him.

The person who would heal and save Shireen.

Or the person who would halt Shireen's Greyscale until his Shaper power had grown to the point where he would be able to cure Shireen himself.

"And who are you young man." The woman asked, and gods, even her voice was filled with silky seduction.

'Does the red god really have to turn his priestesses into sex on legs?' He thought. Not that he truly minded the view. And could even appreciate the practicality of such an act.

There were would far more pious knights and lords in Westeros of the Septas of the Faith looked even half as beautiful as Melisandre.

"You are Melisandre. Of… the priestess of R'hollor, right?" He was about to say 'Of Asshai' but knew of all the negative connotations that the place had in Westeros and decided against letting that slip.

"Why, you are rather well informed, my lord. And who do I have the pleasure of speaking?" She asked.

He ignored her words and asked. "You're here to heal my sister Shireen, aren't you?"

At those words Melisandre's eyes lit up with a something that he couldn't recognise and left feeling rather uncomfortable. "Ah, so you must be Stephen Baratheon, son of Lord Stannis Baratheon. And yes, I'm here to heal your sister, though I'm curious as to how-"

He cut her off as he turned to look at the man she had been haggling with with till now. A horse merchant. And took out three gold dragons from his coin pouch and handed it to the man. "For your best horse. And a saddle to go along with it. Be quick about it."

The horse merchant nodded and went away, leaving him alone with Melisandre, and his own guard, Ser Brus Buckler who was still staring at her with blatant lust.

Well… he could certainly see now how she managed to convert so many of Stannis' followers into a the Red Faith. And he had no doubt that her beguiling words would be even more seductive to a person than her apparent beauty.

"We'll talk later when we have time. For now, please hold onto your questions Lady Melisandre." He said and Melisandre simply quirked a smile at his words and nodded with a bow that emphasised her generous cleavage.

And if he was not so worried about his sister and had reached puberty, he would probably be just as slack jawed as Ser Brus Buckler was at the moment.

A minute later, they had their new horse and their party of three was now riding back to Dragonstone Castle as quickly as possible.

Upon reaching the castle, he immediately led Melisandre to his father's solar and after introducing those two, and explaining why Melisandre had come here, the quickly ran back to his own room and closed the door before sitting down on his bed.

Then, he reached into his pocket and took out a device that he rarely used nowadays.

The Company Device.

And went to the Companion's app as soon as the Device lit open.

There, at the top, was his own name and profile picture.

Axel Pherry/Stephen Barathon. Tier 4.

But it was what was below his own name that interested him far more than his own profile.

Melisandre. Tier 5.

Stamped.

Count down to capture- 71 hours, 57 minutes, 13 seconds.

And he whooped in joy.

For finally, he would get the 12 points he needed to get enough points to buy the power that'll eventually make him the strongest being in this entire planet.

Now, he just hoped that Melisandre would succeed in saving his sister and everything will be perfect.
