Father & Daughter Vol. 2

Chapter 16: Epilogue

Thus, Octavia prolonged her destiny once again. No one knows what will happen now, whether the dream will remain the same or change according to circumstances. Or whether that dream was entirely a glimpse into the future or simply her guilt catching up with her at last.

Moxxie must decide whether to follow through on his accusation or obey Stella's request, keeping silent as promised. More than that, he must decide whether to pursue his strange feelings for her or hide them forever for fear of the truth.

Millie has yet to discover what Stella wants from her husband -if she finds out. Though really, what could she learn? With nothing formalised between the two of them; that there is therefore no infidelity, is there anything to discover?

Blitzo and Verozika finally work through their problems. Still a long way from being a relationship again, but very close to being friends again. They were both giving their best this time; and it was beautiful.

And hell, in the end, is still the same place as always, full of chaos, disorder and sin. But a little light always shines, for where there is evil, there is also good. There is no light without darkness to highlight it.

There is still so much to tell and things to resolve, but I trust my characters to find the right path to their own account. I trust that I didn't put them through so much and learn so many things only to see them fall into the mire one last time.

I admit that I will not be as perfect as my father and that my creations may never reach his level of virtue, but I did my best.

So, in this story and in all the stories told from this place, there is no black and white, no right and wrong. It is simply the collection of choices we make based on our morals and what we believe is best. We trade evils for evils, sins for punishments and consequences for penance. We believe we choose "the better of two evils" and trust that what we do is right.

But sin is sin, there is neither a very light one nor a very heavy one, there is only sin. God does not care about these differences that humans use to justify their actions; divine punishment will befall you regardless.

Seen in this light, why not sin to your heart's content? If the punishment comes anyway, it is better to free your soul from its desires? and if you fall, at least do it with style.

No one knows this absolute truth better than me.

 —Satan.
