"Will it hurt a lot?" Uathach asked, her finger tracing the red mark on Asher's neck, a worried look on her face.

"Did you get into a fight? How did you get injured in such a spot?"

"Oh, this isn't an injury," Asher said, touching the mark on his neck with Uathach's finger. He smiled, "Sister Morgan said it's the Mark of the Goddess of Death. If I get one every week, in six months, I'll fully inherit the mark left by the Goddess of Death."

"Don't worry, it won't hurt. I don't feel any pain," Asher added, seemingly afraid Uathach would worry.

"The Mark of the Goddess of Death?" Uathach looked thoughtful. "That's strange... Why would that woman help you so wholeheartedly?"

"That's why I said Sister Morgan is so good," Asher smiled. "She's never done anything to harm me, even though there's always a motive behind everything she does, she has helped me a lot."

Uathach scoffed dismissively, "Even so, I can't forgive her. She took you away without permission and then didn't intend to let you come back."

As she spoke, she observed the mark on Asher's neck again, a puzzled look in her eyes: "It's strange... It looks so ordinary. I don't feel any special aura from it."

"Perhaps it needs time? Just like when I took the White Dragon essence blood before," Asher guessed. "Initially, it probably doesn't have any effect, but over time, it naturally will."

"Is that... so?" Uathach still looked puzzled.

"Probably," Asher seemed uncertain himself, looking at Scathach inquiringly, but saw that her usual gentle smile had somewhat receded.

"Disciple, come here for a moment," Scathach said, gazing at Asher.

Asher was startled, looking at the woman sitting on the edge of the bed. Her voice sounded very serious, and her red eyes held a certain chill.

Why so serious all of a sudden?

It's as if she's encountered an enemy...

Even after years of being with Scathach, Asher rarely saw such an expression on her face. It seemed only now was she truly the Queen of the Land of Shadows; that astonishing pressure made breathing incredibly difficult.

Scathach seemed to realize her lapse. She closed her eyes for a moment, and when she opened them again, her gaze had returned to its usual calmness.

She looked at the young man who sat beside her, reaching out to gently touch the mark on Asher's neck.

"Shishou?" Asher called out, puzzled, as Scathach remained silent.

"Do you know how that mark was made?" Scathach asked.

"She told me to close my eyes then, so I'm not very clear," Asher said, a peculiar look on his face.

Actually, Asher wasn't entirely without suspicion. He felt a wet sensation on his neck, very much like lips... but he was too embarrassed to ask, especially if he was wrong, it would be awkward.

He'd probably be mercilessly ridiculed by Morgan for being conceited.

"Shishou, do you know?" Asher asked.

Uathach's gaze also fell on Scathach, seemingly waiting for her answer.

"Something like that," Scathach gently ran her finger over the mark on Asher's neck, then lightly wiped it with her thumb.

The result was obvious: it was completely futile.

The red mark was imprinted on Asher's neck, completely impossible to remove, and was very noticeable even in the dimness.

Scathach gazed at the mark for a long time, her beautiful eyes still calm.

Even without seeing Morgan le Fay now, one could imagine that woman's joyful smile.

"Shishou?" Asher tried to call out, looking at Scathach's beautiful face and the anger in her beautiful eyes.

Scathach snapped back to reality, and under Asher's gaze, suddenly smiled.

How interesting. Does she really think she can provoke me this way?

Too bad, she picked the wrong person.

"Disciple, remember, when you're out there alone, don't easily believe what others say," Scathach calmly warned Asher.

"Even if someone helps you a lot, it doesn't mean their words and actions are entirely for your benefit."

Asher was startled. "Not for my benefit?"

"Are you saying the Mark of the Goddess of Death is a lie?"

Scathach nodded slightly. "This is just a little trick that woman is playing."

As she said this, her expression remained as calm as ever, as if she were talking about something completely unrelated to herself.

"Next time she proposes this so-called goddess mark, ignore it. Remember that," Scathach reminded him again, her voice laced with coldness.

This woman had always maintained her composure and calmness, but at this moment, her eyes held a chilling coldness that made one's heart palpitate.

Scathach thought she had accounted for everything: Asher's oath, his concern for his Shishou and sister, and his unique affection for the Land of Shadows.

Even in Britain, he still longed for the Land of Shadows, there was no doubt about that.

But she had overlooked one crucial point.

That goddess... was truly shameless.

If she can't keep Asher, then she'll just take what she can get... That's probably Morgan le Fay's thinking.

Perhaps in the future, she really would find a way to keep Asher.

...If that happened, it wouldn't be funny at all.

She's probably secretly observing from somewhere right now, isn't she?

"Did you hear what I just said?" Scathach spoke again, her words full of warning, sounding more like a command than a caution.

"I understand, the Mark of the Goddess of Death is fake," Asher nodded.

Although he didn't know why Morgan would suddenly pull such a bizarre stunt, it was definitely right to listen to his Shishou now.

Uathach looked confused, gazing blankly at Scathach, then at Asher, staring at the red mark for a long time, but still couldn't understand what had happened or why her mother was suddenly angry.

"Oh, forget it, never mind," Uathach quickly shook her head, grabbing Asher's arm. "I have so much to tell you! Let's chat properly while we still have time!"

Asher instinctively glanced at Scathach, who nodded slightly and left the room directly.

During this time, I'll take a moment to check the surroundings and see if that woman will pop out and provoke me.

If she does, even if it's just a dream... I'll teach her a little lesson.
